Easy booking, collection of vehicle was quick, friendly staff and vehicle was great. Price was also extremely competitive as well. Returning the vehicle was easy and again done with great customer service.

The pickup and drop off experience with Guerin could not have been easier. A complete contrast to almost every other airport car hire I have had to endure previously.

The pick-up location directly at the airport was easy to find. We only had a short wait and were welcomed by a very friendly and cheerful staff member, even though it was already around 7:30 pm. The whole process was handled professionally in English.

After a quick and intuitive self-service check-in at the electronic terminal, we were able to collect our Toyota Corolla. The car was spotless, in excellent condition, and felt almost brand new.

We also received all the important information via SMS, which was very convenient and gave us a direct contact if needed.

The entire rental process was smooth, efficient, and hassle-free. I would definitely choose Guerin again and highly recommend them.

Easy to use no stress

Last June 30th, we returned a car at Ponta Delgada airport in São Miguel which we rented from National/GUERIN. The car a PEUGEOT 208 was almost new when we picked it up and the only defect was a slight scratch on one of the wheel caps. There was nothing else visible. The employee from GUERIN who checked us out, immediately appeared over-zealous and was clearly on a mission: he had to find something. He did eventually by passing his hand under the edge of the body wok. He found a little scratch (photo available) and outrightly said that we were responsible and he would have to charge us 217.86 Euros. We disputed the charge as were sure that this scratch was not caused by us and he had no proof that it was not there when we picked up the car. There was no way to reason him and the amount was conveniently deducted from our credit card deposit! GUERIN is the local brand and is certainly not in keeping with National’s image. In fact, we have rented several times with them and never had a problem. Their mission reads “Customer satisfaction is our motivation”! They have lost me as a customer. Be aware and avoid if you can!

All good. There were marks on the car that weren't on the agreement they sent but I had photographed them when I received the car. Showed them when I returned and they accepted that.
Always photograph or video the rental car.
The staff were very good, especially the man at the airport.

Great experience, costumer very friendly, car are direct on gate and it takes less than 3min to get it sorted out and never queues. I already rented in multiple companies in Faro and this one are the best of over them all. Totally recommend. Staff are 10 out of 10. Car are always very new and I never had any problems at all.

Very professional service. The best we ever had so far. Really good, almost new and comfortable car. Free upgrade to automatic transmission if we wanted. And of course we did. Pickup and return process was fast and efficient. Perfect system to check the state of the car and report damages.

Overall great experience, from booking to using fast kiosk at airport, car pickup and delivery. Very friendly staff and service.

All was perfect, except the price!
For 4 days, I have had a VW polo and paid 457.40 euros; it’s huge. As I didn’t have time to book online (normal price for 4 days turn around 160, 180.00e for 4 days). So, I bought it directly at the counter of the airport, and I paid the full price. Too much!

Good experience, nice car

After clearly telling them that I did not want any added features or insurance, they charged me 150.00 euros for something they call pack basic. Pack basic reduces your liability amount. I clearly indicated that I was fully covered by my credit card up to 1 million. The next day I noticed that charge on my card and immediately called they're customer relations department but was met with hostile agent who did not want to listen to my explanation or reverse the charge. Sadly, upon signing the agreement I did not notice the 150.00 charge. I'm currently disputing the charge with my bank.

Buyer beware; Portuguese rental companies are scam artists.

Easy pick up and drop of service with on line registration.

I booked through “Sunny Cars”- I’ve not used them before and honestly was not familiar with them. Over the years I’ve lost count of the number of firms I’ve tried. Too often the experience has been mixed at best.

I have to say Sunny Cars (Guerin) was the best and most complete experience I’ve had to date- a great booking platform, crystal clear terms and conditions, fair policies and very impressive and efficient service. Faultless and for me, this is how all hire car firms should all work!

It was my first time using Guerin, quite impressed with the service, friendly staff and vehicle condition, self checking in for vehicle collection, which I liked, uploading additional photos of vehicle damage via email contract wasn’t working, hence returning to the airport and could be done on return, so wasn’t to worried as photos taken had the time and location on. On return, this was smooth and refundable deposit was back on my credit card the next day. Will definitely use Geurin again and highly recommend if you want to hire a vehicle while on holiday in Portugal.

We had booked a car rental with this company for our summer holiday in Portugal. Signing the contract and collecting the car went very smoothly and quickly at Porto Airport. The car we collected was in very good condition and gave us no trouble whatsoever throughout the rental period. Returning the car was just as quick and hassle-free as collecting it. The staff are very helpful and polite.
