I have installed this little miracle piping, as I call it, in a flat recently. What clever technology!! Saving space, time and money in the long run!
Fantastic customer service with Chris answering all my questions in a professional manner.
I am so happy with the product as I don’t have to clean all those white spots in the shower glass enclosure anymore.
It is so revolutionary that I am considering to install one in our summer home in Greece!!
Thank you team for such a wonderful product

Honesty they did not try and sell the unit to me, I felt informed and they allowed me to make my decision in my own time. This is the second unit I have purchased as it does what it says on the tin, easy to install and saves space and a lot of hassle refilling the salt in the old water softener.

I recently had the halcyan conditioner installed and initially we had no issues but for the last 4 to 6 weeks we are seeing large amounts of lime build up inside our dishwasher and kettle. I'm not sure if the conditioner is removing all the built up scale in my water system or if it's not working at all. I've emailed my concerns to the the sales rep I was dealing with but yet to receive a reply. I have read all the information on their website but can't find anything on what we are seeing. I'm concerned that I just wasted €1300 including fitting on something that's making my water system worse.

As installers for Halcyan, we decided to get a unit ourselves, so from both points of view we are impressed! As a company we find them easy to deal with, happy to help and you can speak to someone when you need to, as a customer, the very same! We have now installed this amazing device for a fair number of our clients and they are all impressed, you can taste the difference immediately, let alone all the other benefits.

Whilst the product has made a small difference to the water and subsequent cleaning away of build up on shower screens I take issue with the website claims which, in my experience, are not true.
The site claims that it ‘removes old limescale’ but if that is the case I wouldn’t expect to see any limescale in my toilets at all. But there certainly is and I have had the product installed for over 6 months.
The claim is also that the calcite build up on shower screens is like a powder and it can easily be wiped off with a wet cloth. This is also very far from the truth.
I have made contact and complained and the goalposts keep on changing because now it depends on the part of the country we are in as to how effective it will be. When I spoke with them on the phone prior to buying the product they knew full well I was in a hard water area. They also claim that the video I sent through shows that the calcite is easily being removed …. But it requires elbow grease to do it and the calcite product is definitely not a powder that can be easily wiped away.
To be clear the claims on their website are simply not true and require some ‘small print’ to actually be honest about what this product does or in this case does not do. If they feel that I am being unfair then I would suggest that their legal team contact me about the misrepresentation of the facts with regards to this product.
They did respond …. But it took them two months to do so. My issue is that the realise does not simply ‘wipe off’ and I still need to use a cleaning product with it. It is easier admittedly but it is no where near as easy as they suggest.
If they wish to contact me directly I would suggest they do so!
It is comical that they offer to use my video to demonstrate how their product works because it does not do what they say it will do.....simple as that.

We've had the in-line water conditioner for two years now. We definitely see an improvement in the water quality - there is less lime scale and it is easier to remove. However, it is far from the perfect solution. We still suffer from lime scale in our appliances, most noticeably the kettle, and it builds up in the less obvious places such as under the toilet rims, in shower door crevices etc. Lime scale remover cleans it off if it is applied before the scale builds up too much. After two years though I'm still not satisfied with the overall outcome and intend to install another saltless solution to remove the remaining scale. I should add we live in an area of hard water (Oxfordshire).

Initial conversation with Halcyan was very informative and their commercial clientele gave me confidence in their conditioner product. It is now fitted and working very well. It has totally eliminated limescale and is a much better idea than a softener filling you with sodium!

Our Halcyan water conditioner was easy to install in a very restricted space which was a big advantage. It has reduced the amount of hard limescale generally but we still need to de-fur the kettle and showerhead from time to time. Overall we would definitely recommed it.

I purchased my Halcyan water conditioner last year and so it’s been working around 6 months. Initially, I didn’t see a difference, however over the last two months I really can. My shampoo and body wash now bubble (previously the water was so hard there wouldn’t even be a sud). I can also see that it’s starting to make a difference on the taps, which had been badly marked by previous timescale. I would definitely recommend.

Great product. Well worth the investment.
Before it was fitted, I descaled taps, kettle etc. And the results are great. No need for descaling products any more. I can’t see inside the washing machine or dishwasher but I assume they are no longer scaling up, so should last longer.

I’m delighted with my Halcyan Water conditioner. We have virtually no scaling on any devices 2.5 years since we installed it. I knew we needed to get a low maintenance solution, and it also needed to not affect water for the garden. It’s been an ideal solution. Heartily recommended.

As a water softener owner myself, I wanted to fit one in my daughter's new flat for its health benefits. However, the layout of the plumbing and landlord's restricts made this impossible.
The Halcyan water conditioner proved to be a great alternative solution to the above. Before fitting, limescale in London was a nightmare, caking itself on all stainless steel surfaces.
However, immediately after fitting, the water had a much nicer feel for washing as the limescale no longer sticks to surfaces.
Most notable differences a month after installation, are much healthier feeling skin and hair when washing, plus the inside of the dishwasher now sparkles, with improved cleaning of dishes, too.
I am really pleased with this alternative to a water softener, especially as it is a fit and forget unit, rather than continually having to buy and load salt as with a softener.

Living in a house with water supplied by a local spring, limescale was a real issue, but after lots of research we installed a Halcyan filter, it was easy to install and limescale now a thing of the past. Highly recommend.

We love our Halcyan Water Conditioner - so much so that we moved house with it! As long-term residents in an area of hard water, finding the right long-term solution was important to us, with a particular focus on the most environmentally-friendly solution. Our Halcyan has worked brilliantly for more than 7 years now and significantly reduces the effort of keeping on top of scale within our house. We've been so impressed that we have now added a Halcyan unit to our recently refurbished brewery business premises in the local area - it was a no brainer!

In my last house I had a water softener but in my new house I didn’t have enough space and also couldn’t separate the cold supply to the kitchen from the rest of the supply pipes, so salt-using softeners were not an option.
The Halcyan unit very neatly fits behind the washing machine where the rising main comes into the house. A very neat job and the plumber was very pleased how easy it was to fit.
3 weeks in and the taps definitely are easier to clean. There is still a bit of scale in the kettle, but not as bad as before. I live in a very hard water area.

For years I wanted a water softener, but was put off by the cost of £100 a year on salt. After Googling for “Water Softener”, the Halycan website appears to have endorsement quotes the Independent and Evening Standard. Those logos and endorsements added (misplaced) legitimacy.
I called a sales representative who said water goes through the pipe, in a special blend of 12 metals (In retrospect, this claim sounds a bit like the Colonels secret recipe) and changes the chemical composition of calcite to aragonite. In layman’s terms, the claim is that the device does not remove any limescale, but it makes it easier to wipe off. Do some in-depth research if you think this is a valid claim for a pipe or pseudo-science marketing.
I was told the device had a money-back guarantee (other reviewers here have failed to get that back). I desperately wanted to believe in this might work, so ordered one for £770. Upon arrival, my heckles immediately went up. If you had spent £800 on a product, would you expect it to arrive a cheap, plain, unbranded box and your name and address scrawled on it in felt tip pen?
I then searched and found the company on Trustpilot. I noted that 20% of the reviews had 1 star, and read them all. That's 1 in 5 people stating the device did not work and had a bad experience. Their website still says “96% customer satisfaction”,while linking to Trustpilot underneath, with only 80% happy. Some 5 stars review are not right; the device absolutely can't improve the water taste. ‘Some’ of the reviewers do not appear genuine (Check their Trustpilot profiles, and other products they have reviewed and their review content).
I found a long-running thread about Halycan, debating in low-level, technical terms the validity of the claimed effect. I am absolutely no chemist, but was not happy with what I read.
I then found, from 2016 to 2020, the Halycan website made false claims about the device having capability to "soften" water. The Advertising Standards Agency many years ago made rulings (2007, 2013) about companies about making claims softening water, which you can read about if you search for 'ASA water treatment devices'. Water Softeners are re-filled with 25kg bags of salt/salt tablets for £12 every 4-6 weeks. Why did Halcyan ignore the ASA and make claims their device was a water softener on their website from 2016-2020. Old websites content can still be viewed via the web.archive website (views snapshots in time of websites). Direct Halycan quotes as follows (there were many more): "Q. How do you enjoy all the benefits of scale free, softer water with the mineral rich advantages of hard water?". "Wake up to softer water! Your hard water solution is here.. really here!"
In 2020, these vanished from their website (as a result of complaints/enforcement action?). They were replaced with terms like "softer-feeling" and "Gentler water".
To this day Halycan leverages the keyword “Softener” in its both its URLs and anchored text on its website. This is a murky marketing tactic to attract Google Search traffic to the people looking for water softeners.
I checked the quotes from the two newspapers. Google the quote from the Independant right now. You'll see the origin 'article title' is for many products, the quote changed by Halycan to refer to just one ('appliance' rather than appliances) and yes it is “Sponsored" content article! I have raised cases with the advertising standards agency, as well as both the newpapers, asking if they are aware their logos are used alongside the modified quote for sponsored posts. I wait on responses. That discovery was the final nail in Halycan’s coffin.
I emailed the company and asked for a refund after the cheap, unbranded, handwritten box arrived. I had a phone call asking me to reconsider. They said they were a small company, yet another company packaged them badly, and they just fired them. EDIT: story changes below, now their printer broke. Which story is true, who knows? I demanded a statutory refund. I returned the same box (I took photos if you want to see the box). I sent it via Royal Mail Special Delivery (a signed insured service). It was delivered and signed for by Halcyan the next day. Now ask yourself?
1) Has Halycon engaged in false marketing, and misleading quotes?
2)Try and find “peer reviewed journal" evidence from random controlled trials that this device works.
3) Why do “Water softeners” still exist if this device was invented 30 years ago, and works so well?
4) Do you trust this company with £800 of your money?
I apologise for the lengthy review, but I hope you found it useful. Since then, I have sent 3 emails asking why I have not been refunded.
As of 17th October, I have still never been refunded, and in contrast to their reply below, none of my emails have received a response.

I was suspicious of Halcyan’s claims before installing their device. Too good to be true? Fact is the changes to water quality are instant, undeniable and considerable.

No issues with water marks and we are in a very hard water area. It seems to be working well. No sign of limescale so far (touch wood) 😅
I also had to contact the customer service before delivery and their support was excellent!

I would like to start by saying what an absolutely genius product this is, it has really changed my life! To give some background, I moved into our new home in east Hertfordshire in May 2023 and to my dismay was shocked to find out how terribly hard the water is here.
I have previously moved around a lot and lived in London and Essex and can honestly say the water in my new area is the worst I have ever experienced in my life, in fact London is far superior to here.
Now to the point, the water in the bathroom was so awful, I would lose so much hair when washing, it was literally breaking off and became so frizzy and unmanageable like candy floss, in fact most the time I couldn't even brush my hair which led to more breakage. I spent a fortune to install a salt based water softener which was an absolute disaster and ruined my hair even more as it completely removed the minerals and this didn't suit my hair type.
I then had to turn this off due to the damage it was causing. I got in touch with Halcyan and spoke to Chris who was extremely helpful and provided excellent customer service to assist me in purchasing the personal shower unit.
Now I have used the unit today and it has made a remarkable difference to my frazzled hair, it now feels softer and more healthy like it used to feel, I only wish I installed the whole house system in the first place!
I will do this eventually but it just means we have to lift up the floorboards to do so as that is where are incoming water pipe is located.
Now to end this review I will like to say what a fantastic and remarkable product this is, I was feeling so upset and hopeless about my hair and the damage caused by the hard water but I now believe Halcyan has solved all these issues.
Thank you so very much for your amazing product.
Kind regards
Michelle

Does what it says on the tin. I live in a hard water area and I noticed a difference immediately the unit was installed by one of the approved plumbers, which is around 6 weeks now. Skin and hair feel softer and less dry. The on/off knob on my shower had calcium deposits making it hard to turn and I am noticing that it glides more easily now. Shower glass is easy to clean. Kettle is clear of deposits. I frequently had to use vinegar in the loo to descale and haven't had to do this since it was installed. I am really pleased and glad I took the decision to install it.
