Halcyan treats your hard water, preventing and removing limescale reliably and efficiently. The in-line unit does so without adding anything to your water, or removing anything from it. This ensures Halcyan is the most sustainable and longest lasting water conditioner available in the UK. It's simple to install and you can relax with our 30 year warranty.

Good taste and feel to the water. No tendency to sliminess like water softener. No problems with white deposits. Removing limescale in kettle and pipesas advertised.
Flaking scale in our 40 year old system blocked one of our taps, but now rectified.

The water conditioner will not get rid of 100% limescale, probably around 90%. What appears on taps and showers etc is easily wiped away, a bit like white dust. Water is not as soft and silky like softened water, but you can drink conditioned water from the tap. The installation was very straight forward by our local plumber, maybe 2 hours work.
The main benefit is once it installed there is no further cost, unlike a water softener, where you are forever filling salt blocks, ordering every few months and storing them somewhere.
Overall a great product after nearly 18 months of use, what will it be like in 30 years time?

Like another reviewer here I have had a similar experience and not in a good way. We bought a new build house 4 years ago and 31/2 years ago the builder installed a Halcyan water softener at a cost of around £700. I only drink hot water so I see the amount of limescale that we get.. Within the 12 months I emailed Halcyan and sent photos of large chunks of limescale from the kettle and around the kitchen sink. I received a comprehensive email explaining why this should be!!!! I was very confused with all the science. I still get lots of limescale. I’m forever wiping the shower heads down due to the limescale in their little holes. I hate to think what the inside of our appliances eg the boiler looks like. My builder also installed one in his newbuild house but is in the process of claiming back from Halcyan as he is not impressed either. Like a previous reviewer, I’m sure because of the time gone by we also would’ve lucked out. Halcyan give a 30 year guarantee!!! but what is that guarantee for as it doesn’t do what it says. I’m sorry Halcyan but unfortunately your product does not work and how do you justify the price tag. I wouldn’t waste your money on this product. Or maybe we have just had a faulty product??

Easy to install, doesn’t take up loads of room inside the cupboard and seems to be very effective in taking out the worst of the hard water deposits. The team were very helpful in advising on which unit would suit our property and understanding how it works.
We went for this system over a salt based softener due to having young children and I’ve been impressed in the 12+ months since it was installed.

Three years later and I have to admit the plumber was right; I am now buying a proper water softener. The pipes are all furred, the showers blocked and the washing machine needs flush through. I'm an engineer, why did I think this would work?

Living in a hard water area and not on mains drainage I looked hard and long at different water conditioners. I wisely choose the Halcyan water conditioner which I have now had for nearly 3 years. I can safely say this was a great investment as we have not suffered with any lime scale build up at all. The big bonus with the Halcyan is once it is fitted you just leave it alone. It conditions all the water in the whole house and you have no need of a hard tap for drinking or watering the garden because of the way it works. The second bonus is there are no ongoing costs for salt, no moving parts that need maintenance or excess use of water as it does need a cleaning cycle. So all round works out cheaper than salt based water softeners. 1st class product that will not let you down.

This system really works, and I like the fact that it's a fit-and-forget system that does not require any maintenance!

Amount of scale greatly reduced. Resulting in less replacements of fittings in my London properties. My sceptical plumber, who fitted 3 of the units (of the 5 I bought), researched the technology and has now become a convert and qualified installer!!

I previously had a salt based water softener that broke down and I decided to try something different. The water softener business is a typical camera and film type enterprise. Once you get the camera you keep using the film. In addition to the cost we found the bother of topping up the salt a bore. Halcyon on the other hand is not a bother but miraculously removes limescale. The change to our taps and showers took a week. A great product that more people need to know about.

We needed something to replace our large water softener which was taking up a whole cupboard. We didn’t expect it to be as good as the water softener but it has exceeded our expectations, whilst we do get small amounts of scale around our taps it’s easily wiped away.

After a lot of research and reading reviews, we finally decided to buy Halcyan water conditioner. We basically wanted something which involves minimal maintenance, requires minimal space and reduces limescale on the taps/sink. The results were obvious within a week. The limescale is super easy to wash away, sometimes even without bleach. The pink deposits around the taps on a white sink have disappeared. I previously used to clean the taps every 3-4 days and now it’s around once in 2-3 weeks. We don’t use a kettle nor are we bothered about the amount of lather with soap/body wash. So for us, this product is perfect.

Nothing really surprising but install was very quick, tidy and as outlined in your instructions.
Early days yet but so far I am pleased with how it's eroded some lime-scale from taps, shower and basins.

We had a Halcyan Water treatment unit fitted a few weeks ago to our mains water supply and have to say so far it seems to be doing an excellent job in reducing the hardness in the water in an area which is know for its hard water supply. The fitting was carried out by a qualified Metro Rod installer we contacted and we noticed the difference after a day or so with reduced build up of scale in our kettle (which is always a good monitor for hard water issues); Therefore we would hope that this has only got to be good for the water supply around the house including showers, taps and other appliances too as time goes by! The reason why we chose the Halcyon water treatment system was we did not want a bulky salt treatment system because of the inconvenience and added expense of buying and adding salt all the time to that type of water treatment; Therefore if the Halcyon system continues to work as it seems to be, it will be a brilliant way to control hard water in our house and hopefully now fitted we can forget about it and will be a more cost effective solution long term to our water hardness issues.

I was asked to carry out some investigations for a potential customer who was interested in having a water softener fitted in their property. The customer was not totally happy with the idea of the produce of regenerated waste water going into his septic tank, after some research I came across 'Halcyan'. Two months after the installation of two units I am very pleased to say the two customers that I fitted the units for are more than happy with the results, they noticed an improvement of the quality of water immediately, little or no scale deposits on shower screen, shower head, taps and most importantly their kettle.
From an installation point of view, fantastic quality production of the units make them easy to install, space saving against a softener unit and very neat units make it a shame they are hidden in a kitchen cupboard.
Prior to choosing a Halcyan conditioner I spoke several times with the company, very professional!
I look forward to working with them in the future and recommending Halcyan conditioners as a perfect solution to hard water. I am a Plumbing Technical Support Manager for a national plumbing company and will be looking to promote Halcyan to all our branches in hard water areas.

I have had the Halcyan conditioner in place for a year now. The main place I have noticed the difference is on the hand held shower hose. This used to have to be descaled every couple of months but there hasn’t been any build up since fitting. Another place is there is no more build up on tap heads. It’s a lot easier to clean off water marks from the stainless steel sink and other surfaces. You still get water marks with this system but I have used next to no descaler. A friend, who lives in Suffolk, has just fitted one after my recommendation. So far he is very happy.

To understand who Halcyan really are, check their email after I filed a dispute about their useless (literally) product with my credit card provider and won :-)
Clearly, their manners are worse than their products.
The fact that I won the dispute means it was perfectly appropriate and you were not.
"Mr ...
You have submitted for an entirely inappropriate and unproven refund from your card company. Under no provision are you entitled to any of the funds back as we quite clearly explained to you in our last email. You were provided with all the information necessary, and failed to do your due diligence, prior to purchase.
Given you still have our product and have failed to return it but have received the refund, if we do not receive our unit back within 7 days, in perfect order, we will treat this as theft and take the necessary next steps to retrieve our property.
Regards"

I have waited a few months before leaving this review, to give adequate time to test our Halcyan conditioner since we had it installed during recent extension and new kitchen work.
Like many of the other reviews on here, we took a long time to make the decision about whether to go for a traditional salt-based softener or the Halcyan conditioner. In the end we trusted people's positive reviews of Halcyan, and are very glad we did.
We are several months on now from installation, and the results have been very impressive. We had a new kitchen installed, and so can comment on the effects on brand new fittings and appliances. Our new taps remain completely free from limescale after several months use, without any cleaning other than the normal wipe over with a cloth and kitchen cleaner, and we have had none of the hard water issues we have had in the past. When I installed new bathroom taps a year or so before we got the Halcyan, substantial limescale deposits had accumulated over the same period.
As the information on the website makes clear, the Halcyan conditioner does not remove minerals from the water, it conditions them and changes their structure, so they don't "stick". This is what we have found. On occasion you will still notice some white deposits around the tap after water has evaporated away, but these are easily wiped away if/when they appear.
We are very happy with our Halcyan. People have talked about the high initial cost, but this should be viewed as an investment which provides a no-maintenance, zero ongoing cost, environmentally friendly, non-salt-dependent solution to limescale and hard water which is guaranteed to last decades. When you take a 30yr view on it the cost is very reasonable, and is multiple times cheaper than a salt based system.
Thanks Halcyan!

I have had a Halcyan water conditioner for nearly two years and thought I would share my thoughts. My shower, taps and toilet are mostly limescale free and what little there is comes away very easily when cleaning. The lid and spout of my tea kettle, formerly a limescale haven are also free. I have noticed that my skin does not itch as much after showering and my hair seems to be softer. Another bonus is I no longer need to purchase caustic limescale busting cleaners which are detrimental to the environment. All in all I would say that I am extremely satisfied with my Halcyan water conditioner.

We are delighted with the Halcyon water conditioner. The difference is very noticeable from shifting problem limescale areas to better skin and hair condition. I have given up having to moisturize, and no longer worry about an extra shower or bath causing dryness.

The Halcyan has not prevented the build up of limescale. The company have accepted that the device is faulty but want us to provide a deposit for £150, pay for our plumber to come back and change the unit and carry the cost of any postage.
We are very disappointed. Everything we had read about this device promised such amazing results - not only is this not the case - but buyer beware - customer service is lousy!
