I bought two self tapping screws and…

I bought two self tapping screws and caps for my number plate at £1.99 at Halfords Stockport and fixed to car in car park. Then £5.99 comes up on my phone - £5.99 !! Apparently if screws are anti tamper -£5.99 - couldn't take off to return - packs are identical next to each other.

Would never return.

Had my vehicle serviced and was told my battery had failed the test and was at 54% and needed replacing. Also told had excessive oil leak. Took my vehicle to my regular garage to find that battery was absolutely fine at nearly 100% and oil leak was not excessive at all.

£1113 for 2 calipers replacement

I took my car here for an MOT and it failed on rear brake issues. They initially gave me an inflated quote for discs and pads, then called later that afternoon to add new calipers for an extra £659. The total quote came to over £1,113 just for rear brakes, and they wanted to keep the car all weekend. I collected my car and took it to an independent garage, who fixed the calipers, replaced the pads, and completed the MOT for a total of £350. Unbelievably abusive pricing and terrible value. I highly recommend getting a second opinion if you are quoted for major repairs here.

Biggest rip off garage in the UK

Biggest rip off garage in the UK. I had 2 experiences with them, first, car's rear bumper got damaged in their garage and when asked all the workshop team started to act weird and refused to answer my questions. Second, took my car in for AC checks, I was told that system needs re-gas. They charged me £140 for re-gas only to take my car to them again when AC stopped working after 2 weeks. This is when they said there is a leak in the system.

Hello if I could give this a 0 star I would , I called up last week and spoke to someone and told them the issues I had with car and needed a diagnostics test then a quote of how much it could cost for repair , they guy said that’s fine and he booked me in for today at 8:30 in Basildon I turned up at 8:15 spoke to them when there and they told me sorry we can’t help you as they don’t deal with that I wanted as I believe it’s the can bus in the car but the guy on phone said yes was all fine so just wasted time going down there for them to not even look at my car , very angry as I could of went somewhere else , called other places and next slots are in August and I have 4 kids so I need my car and I used to get to work!

Would not recommend Halfords garage

I made booking with halfords call…

I made booking with halfords call center and booked me halfords finchley before I make a booking I dropped local garage and they told me need change 2 rare Tyres I didn’t trust them so I booked with halfords i had 1130 appointments arrived 1110 and i been there nearly 3 hours when i got report i saw my rare Tyres 55mm and limit is 1.6 they didn’t told me that which I would told them no need to change and also i had alignment check no report and print out for that . Overall I don’t recommend and would say think again if you want book with them and one more when i was paying bill i been told do you want insurance for your tyres £10.99 I said yes and he changed me £22 he didn’t told me £10.99 each tyre

4 new tyres on diamond cut alloys

We had a tyre fitted come today from Southampton (Michael) he phoned in advance to say he was on his way. When he arrived very polite and professional. Most of all he was extremely careful with our unmarked Range Rover diamond cut alloys. Which is a problem we’ve had in the past with other big tyre companies damaging wheels big time. So yes very please with Michaels work and attitude, a credit to Halfords and a big thank you from us😀👍

Excellent service from start to finish.

Excellent service from start to finish from Halfords, Incle Street, Paisley. Easy online booking. My MOT was carried out quickly and professionally. John and his team were friendly and helpful. The whole process was hassle free and I would highly recommend them.

Appalling service at Halfords Stafford: Safety issues, unauthorized work, and broken promises.

My car failed its MOT at Halfords Stafford on 8 April due to a shock absorber. I was verbally advised that shocks should be replaced in pairs and was quoted £350, which clearly implied both would be replaced. When I collected the car on 10 April, only one shock had been replaced, but I was still charged the full £350. Driving with uneven shocks is unsafe. They also carried out a wheel alignment without my consent.When I complained, I was told £350 for one shock was “normal”, contradicting industry practice and their own advice. I was promised a callback that never happened. I submitted an online complaint and was offered an insulting £40 gift card, then a refund for the unauthorized alignment. Crucially, when I sent my bank details, they closed my case and my email bounced. The chat team promised to reopen it, but ignored me. I emailed their Resolution Experts on 28 April and have received zero response. I have been left £307 out of pocket since April by a garage operating in bad faith. I want my money back immediately.

Misleading Advice and Refused Service

I visited Halfords in Hartlepool to purchase a dashcam, but the model I wanted was not available as a complete set in-store. A member of staff helped me find the correct set online and advised me to purchase it there, then return to book a fitting.

I followed this advice and bought the dashcam set from the official website for around £300. However, when I returned to arrange fitting, I was told they could not install it because it was not purchased directly from Halfords.

This was extremely frustrating, as I relied on the guidance given in-store before making the purchase. It makes no sense to direct a customer to buy a product elsewhere and then refuse to provide the fitting service afterward.

To make matters worse, the staff member I spoke to showed no empathy and came across as dismissive, as though they just wanted to end the interaction quickly.

Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this store based on the lack of consistency, communication, and customer care.

DO NOT TRUST, AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE

I recently ordered a bike from Halfords and specifically chose and PAID extra for the bike to be delivered as assembled.
The bike arrived, it looked assembled but when taken out to be used the front bar was not fixed at all and came out and was in my hands totally detached from the bike. I wasn't able to fix it and that is why I paid for the the assembled service. When I called to complain they told me I should bring it to nearest store, unfortunately my nearest store has been closed down and I am unable to walk with an unfixed bike miles and miles away to the next one!
I asked to help and to at least refund the "assembly" charges - at which point they sent me a reply email titled "CASE CLOSED"!!!!! and no one is replying to my emails. When you go on their website to find solutions to an issue, they links they provide are inexistent and come out as "403 forbidden"!!
Very disappointed from a company as this which seems legitimate but that does absolutely nothing to assist on an issue they created.
Will never buy again from this people.

Unacceptable Service

I booked my Tesla in advance for an MOT and specifically checked beforehand that they were able to carry out the MOT on the vehicle. Despite that, when I arrived, I was told they did not have the correct type of ramp and therefore could not do the MOT.

This is completely unacceptable. If a garage is not properly equipped to MOT a Tesla, that should be made clear at the point of booking, not after the customer has taken time out of their working day and turned up in good faith.

The customer service was extremely poor, there was no proper attempt to resolve the situation, and the whole experience felt careless and unprofessional. I had taken a full day off work to attend this appointment, only to be told on arrival that they could not do the job they had already agreed to do.

A total waste of time and a very frustrating experience. I would not recommend them.

Car tyres

Still waiting for my car tyre refund after nearly 2 months. Phone call after phone call to try and sort it. In the end decided to go through my bank to try to reclaim it. I will never go to halfords again for car tyres

No engine oil

I dropped my car off at Halfords Autocentre Liverpool Aintree on Saturday at 8:15 AM for an MOT and full service. However, at 4:45 PM, I was informed that they had no engine oil and could not release my car until Monday morning because it was too dangerous to drive. I find this incredibly unprofessional; they had my car for over 8 hours before realising they lacked the necessary oil, and I needed my vehicle for work on Monday morning. To make matters worse, they sent me an email at 5:02 PM stating the work had been completed and that I could collect the car. This makes it seem like they are trying to cover their tracks. I strongly recommend you do not use them.

When I comes to a MOT service
Booked well in advance for my vehicle mot and now 6 days before my mot I received a email saying they have cancelled my mot appointment due to garage equipment failure of which I am skeptical about as this seams to be the norm for excuses
As last year they done exactly the same thing with my mot
I think it's more of a case we have over booked customers and we don't know what we are doing as usual and a total shambles
So this is the last time I will be booking any of my vehicles in for any kind of work
With this company who have totally gone down hill with its service to customers
And certainly not a company you can rely on and would not recommend them if you are looking for a reliable competent company
