Went in to Halfords to get a basic…

Went in to Halfords to get a basic repair, headlight done today. Paid in advance for for blub and fitting. Store empty. 2 people in pop in spaces. Came out, with in 3 mins a space was available. One man working on the last car in the other space. That took about 10 mins. No problem. He then left the pop up store to do two other people in the store, regarding something else. Came back out 15 mins later, no sorry nothing. His work colleague came out enquiring about a red car that was parked up. I intercepted their convo and stated I had been waiting for 25 mins, only then was I priotitised. Absolute disgusting customer service, for zero queues. 2 years ago when I got them to replace a blub, the turnaround was 5-10 mins but that was with people booked in. So disappointed.

Worst Tyre Buying Experience I’ve Ever Had

I ordered five tyres from National Auto Tyres, to be fitted by Halfords Mobile (as they’re the same company).

Only one tyre was fitted — to my Fiat 500. The other four were for my MINI Cooper, but the fitter refused to install them because they were 215 width instead of 205.

For context, 215/45/17 is a size I’ve run on MINIs for over 15 years without issue, and it’s even a factory size option on some models. There was absolutely no valid reason to refuse fitment. It felt like a box-ticking exercise rather than someone applying actual knowledge or common sense.

They told me the tyres would be cancelled.

They weren’t.

I then spent nearly two weeks chasing via emails and phone calls. Emails were completely ignored, and getting through to someone competent on the phone was almost impossible. When I finally reached someone who could sort it, there was no apology — just a blunt and rude attitude, as if I was the inconvenience.

An absolute joke from start to finish.

This is easily the worst customer service experience I’ve had when buying tyres. I will never use Halfords or National Tyres again.

JACK the expert from halfords came to…

JACK the expert from halfords came to phoned me to say 10 minutes to 15 minutes away arived in the time frame between 12 00 hrs 14 00 hrs spoke very polite got on with my problem explained he had to go to the Burnley store to get a new road angle camra and the problem was not the sd card but the camera and with in 45 minutes he said it would tack him. And with in a few minutes after he arrived back job completed many thanks jack from

Great service from Halfords mobile…

Great service from Halfords mobile fitting at home today. Jack phoned ahead of time, turned up at that time and fitted the two new tyres very quickly. Professional and friendly experience. Thanks.

Charlie is the man with a van that can!!!

We had the absolute pleasure of Charlie fixing our tyres today! He was full of knowledge and gave a quick, personable and professional service. Our previous experience was not great but Charlie has resaaured us that Halfords is the one to trust! Absolutely credit to the company! Where we told previously that there was issue with our tyres, Charlie accepted the challenge and fixed everything quickly and explained everything he was doing! We could not be happier with his service.

Website and App error

Can't access the shopping cart, therefore can't use my motoring club benefits but they'll still charge me. The agent on the live chat was unable to help.

Take your money and then cancel - DO NOT USE THEM

Similar to other reviews. They take the money for the fitting and 30 seconds later send a message saying there is a problem with the booking asking you to call the customer service number. After the second attempt (got cut off first time) the friendly but ineffective call handler advises they don’t have the tyre in stock. I asked them if they have any other similar tyres in stock - but no they cannot do that only refund my money in 3-5 working days. Yes that is right - take my money - and then hold onto it for a while.

When I asked to speak to a manager I am told that no one is available as they are in a meeting - a call centre with no active supervisor on duty.

So basically I am £182 lighter for a few days, still have an undrivable car with a flat tyre, and going to have to fork out another c. £180 in the meantime to get it sorted.

Do not use them - go to a reputable auto centre.

Mobile tyre fitting

Mobile tyre fitting, good price, on the day I could see where my booking was in the queue, chap that fitted tyre friendly and chatty and job done in about 15 minutes. Very please and would recommend.

Great service

Great service. Polite and careful fitter that looked after my wheels, great comms and a great price on the tyres. Also turned up 9am Monday after I booked on Sunday.

Not sure what all the negative reviews are about.

Unreliable and unprofessional

I ordered 4 new tyres and booked an 8-12 delivery slot. The driver arrived after 12 - yet I still got charged for the slot. After this 4 plus hour wait, their equipment on the van was faulty and they were unable to complete the job. The mechanic admitted that they have equipment issues. I got one tyre fitted out of 4. I was told to ring customer services and rebook, they cut me off when trying to raise my concerns and they were unhelpful in rebooking. Suggesting a 72 hour wait before they could return. When I eventually got the tyres replaced by another provider, the tyres were also significantly cheaper for identical tyres. Never again.

Home Dash Cam Fitting

Home Dash Cam Fitting Cancelled however my 1 star has now changed to a 5 star review. I received great service after the initial cancellation. The Peterborough Hub rebooked me in with a date convenient for me. Ben, the technician was great on the day and Sibo from customer service called me to make sure I was happy.

Booked to have a replacement tyre at…

Booked to have a replacement tyre at home. Didn’t show up on selected date, no communication. Agreed a different date then didn’t turn up. Now customer services have told me that the tyre I want is not in stock. Had to chose a different tyre.

NEVER EVER USE HALFORDS - GO TO KWIK FIT

I can not say enough about how AWFUL Halfords' mobile fitting service is! Please please never use them - they are total crooks. We booked in over a week in advance to have all four tyres replaced, including a flat meaning the car was un-driveable. We had a four-hour window and they still managed to be late - despite the fact we had spent well over £1000, all paid in advance. And the worst part - on arrival the technician admitted his machine on his van was faulty and he might not be able to complete the job. Sure enough - he managed to replace only one tyre before the machine packed up and off he went!! Leaving us high and dry. The onus was placed on us to call customer service , no apologies or attempts by Halfords to rectify the situation. When I did call them they were totally unhelped. These people don't even deserve their 2 star rating. They are atrocious. GO anywhere else, not to Halfords!!!

If I could give zero stars...

If I could give zero stars, I would. Do not use Halfords Mobile Tyre Fitting. What should have been a simple call-out has turned into a dangerous and incredibly stressful ordeal.

First, the fitter completely ripped me off. I had a screw dead-center in my tyre, clearly in the repairable zone. Instead of offering a standard repair, he went straight to replacing it. He actually had the audacity to tell me after he had fitted the new tyre that the old one could have easily been repaired! Halfords has a duty of care to indicate if a cheaper repair is possible before pushing a replacement. This is sheer predatory sales practice.

But it gets infinitely worse. The fitter actually LEFT AN AXLE STAND completely wedged underneath my car when he finished. Unaware of his staggering incompetence, I attempted to drive the car later that night. I immediately heard a horrific crunching sound, and the heavy metal stand is now severely wedged beneath my vehicle.

Because my car is an EV, the battery casing and soleplate are right where that stand is impacting. This poses a massive safety hazard and a huge financial risk, particularly as this is a leased vehicle. My car is now completely undrivable.

I am currently battling with them to get an emergency, priority call-out (from a different technician!) to safely remove the equipment, assess my EV battery for structural damage, and accept full liability for their negligence. Customer service have no means of escalating anything, only sending emails either to the Hub which take 48 hours to be actioned or escalating a complaint that takes 7-10 days to be read. What a disgraceful approach to customer care.

Save your money, protect your car, and go anywhere else.

Appalling Service

Ordered 2 new tyres for fitting at home. Order confirmed and paid for. First appointment they sent one wrong tyre, second appointment they had no tyres! Could not reappoint within time needed so cancelled. Customer service very polite but of little use. The whole service is chaotic. Will not use again and would not recommend.

The most awful customer service ever

The most awful customer service ever! Waited all day for tyre repair only to see my e. Mail said job was complete…. When I called the tyre hadn’t arrived but the didn’t have the decency to call and let me know… gave me an option to re book 4 days away! Disgusting service do not rely on this service

Zero star mobile tyre fitting

I booked a mobile fitting for two tyres with Halfords and paid extra for a specific time slot between 12pm and 4pm. After booking, I received an automated confirmation email and text, which was fine.

However, on the day of the appointment, no one turned up. I waited in all afternoon. Because I was expecting the technician, I even had to book an Uber for the school run to pick up my kids and again on the way back, which was both inconvenient and unnecessary in the end.

By 4:30pm, there was still no sign of anyone, so I called customer service to cancel the order. Still no way to track the technician

Overall, it was a very frustrating experience. I won’t be using halfords or Halfords mobile tyre fitting again.

Halfords - untrusted

Appalling experience from Halfords mobile fitting, having blown two tyres both left side making my car undriveable, was first advised when the like for like tyre was not available to go with a similar one to be told by the fitter on the day of the appointment it was a run flat and I don’t have run flats so not suitable, first wasted day.

Upon calling their customer service team they apologised for this error and promptly sorted the correct tyre and re booked for two days later, upon the 2 hour time slot that I was charged £15.50 for the fitter sent a text message, didn’t even the courtesy to call to say tyres didn’t make so you’ll need to re book. Upon calling customer service the tyre wasn’t in stock and hadn’t been so should never have been booked, best they could offer was a further booking slot in another two days time but would need to accept an inferior tyre brand.

From a brand known to many households I would expect a better service than this, but wrong advice, booking services they know they cannot fulfil and and all whilst sitting on your money for all this time.

I’ve had two days wasted waiting for them to fit tyres and haven’t and my job is a field based job so has taken my car off the road for a week due to sheer incompetence
