The hamper I ordered was damaged when…
The hamper I ordered was damaged when it arrived.
One of the items was open and had spilt all over the hamper and other items.
I have tried to contact handmade hamper, both on the phone and via email numerous times, and still haven’t had a response.
The hamper was a valentines present for my partner, and wasn’t a cheap gift.
It’s now ruined and I have no gift to give.
Extremely poor customer service.
And will be applying to my bank to refund the money as the gift is ruined.

Thank you for the review, we do appreciate your comments in helping us improve our service where required.
I have checked your order and can see the gift was dispatched from us on 5th Feb for delivery on 6th Feb, however you instructed the courier to hold the gift and and deliver on the 10th Feb. The delivery image does not appear to show any damage/wetness to the outer parcel and no comment was made to the driver of any concerns at the time of the delivery. I am also not sure why you ordered the Cheese, Wine and Pate Hamper Basket as a Valentines gift for delivery on the 6th Feb when our delivery dates were open for delivery on the 13th and 14th Feb at the time of ordering, if these dates were selected this would have avoided the courier storing the parcel for you.
We do wrap the majority of glassware within our gifts in bubble wrap and shredded paper to try to avoid breakages during transit. We have a standard way of packaging the Cheese, Wine and Pate Hamper Basket and as well as the pate and fruit jars being bubble wrapped. We add a layer of bubble wrap to the bottom and top of the basket and include additional packing within the basket in any void spaces. The cheese is added to an insulated envelope with a gel pack, as you haven't stated what item had spilt, could the gel pack have leaked during the storage process with the courier you arranged?
I do appreciate accidents do occur which is as much a disappointment to us and it is yourself and if we were aware we would do all we can to rectify any issues.
I am sorry you could not reach us over the weekend. Our offices were closed on Friday and Saturday for telephone enquiries as per the message on our website, however we were replying to all email enquiries as soon as they came through to us. I have checked both our email log and answerphone messages and we have not received anything from you at all.
If you can forward details of the damaged/spilt items within the hamper basket, along with the relevant photographs showing this to Sales@Handmade-Hamper.co.uk we will replace the items and rectify this issue for you.

It has been a very challenging Christmas this year with our courier DPD, lots of delays and Christmas cut off dates given to us at very last minute. So we had to despatch earlier than normal to allow as many orders to reach the recipients in time for Christmas.

Terrible delivery experience from DPD
Easy to order and Handmade Hampers tried to deliver on the day of request via DPD which was great, until DPD tried to deliver it over school pick up time, then took it back to their depot where they held it for 3 days promising every day that they will provide a code once they deliver it to a local pick up location, they emailed today that they cannot deliver it to the pickup location because our parcel is not suitable? so will attempt again today to deliver. It was a anniversary gift required on 8th December, still pending today on 13th December.

Thank you for your review, we are sorry to learn of the problems you have encountered, this is far below the standard we aim to offer and which we have experienced with our delivery partner DPD.
Unfortunately, a result of Royal Mail strikes increasing demand for services and adverse weather conditions throughout the country this has resulted in severe delays in deliveries particularly in the Cardiff area.
We have been attempting to lessen the impact on our customers by sending gift hampers out earlier than normal where possible, which we did with your gift and are working closely with DPD to avoid any excessive delays.
We have passed on our customer’s feedback and complaints directly to account managers, depot managers and DPD head office and will continue to do so whilst monitoring the situation.
I have checked the tracking today and can see a delivery attempt will be made today - 14th December at 12.24 - 13.34.
Once again, please accept our apologies for this delay and we hope this will not deter you from returning to us in the future.

I'm sorry you felt you were unable to contact us directly to assist with your problem before leaving us a review. However we do thank you for this so we can improve our service to all our customers.
We offer our apologies on behalf of the courier dpd for the delay with your delivery. We did dispatch your gift on Sunday on a next day delivery service and expected it to be delivered on Monday as per your preferred delivery date.
We have been updated from the courier that they have experienced an unprecedented amount of parcel traffic over the last two weeks due to the Royal Mail strikes and also Black Friday special deals so have seen a massive parcel traffic increase. Whilst they are trying their very best to deliver parcels on time, some depots have been quite delayed and they are unable to offer their usual high standards of delivery or guarantee any parcel service at the moment.
Updates from the courier have been emailed to you every day to advise of the delays and I believe you should also have a notification to advise the gift is out with the driver today and delivery should be between 17.58 - 18.58.
We have expressed our complaint to dpd regarding the delay in your case, but would appreciate it if you could also pass on your review to their website too quoting the consignment number within their tracking email sent to you.
Again, we apologise for the delay but do hope the gift is enjoyed when it arrives later today.
