I have spent a small fortune at the local Harbor Freight store and joined Inside Track to be made aware of deals and discounts. I received notice of a deal today, so I went to the store to purchase... See more

Yukon Tool cabinets
Outstanding quality cabinets. Best I have ever owned. Cabinets are made in Cambodia. Material is high grade. Fasteners are good quality. Cabinets come pr-assembled. Casters are good quality. The only change they could make is to make all 4 casters swivel. The two stationary casters on one end make the cabinets hard to move. I installed 2 5" swivel casters on the end. Much easier to move. Drawers are quality ball bearing slides. Bought three of the 9 drawer 46"on Black Friday. These cabinets come with drawer liners.
China Junk defective right out of the box
This is a Junk store that gives 90 days on the product so they can ask you to pay for longer. You can buy simple tools but stay away from power tools. What you have here is a Dollar Tool store. The products are low quality Made in China that are mostly defective right out of the box.
False sale prices
I went to the store to buy a light they had on there sale flyer for $19.99 regular price was $29.99 when the cashier rang it up it came to $32.? I told the clerk its on sale and he said you have to be a member to get that sale price so I said keep it I am done with a store that run's ads and you have to be a memeber to get that sale price. I'm done with Harbor Freight and after reading most of the reviews it wont not be long before you start closing stores. No sweat off of my back I did without you for years and I can do without for years to come.
I will never buy anything from this…
I will never buy anything from this place again if you purchase any electronic and it never worked out if the box they won’t accept it back I waisted $79 on a heat gun that never worked. This company should be shut down it’s just a big scam

Poor packaging and passive customer service dept make for a pathetic experience
Ordered online because there isn't a store within driving distance, so my experience will only deal with their e-commerce side of things.
Paid for 2 simple LED bulbs and took normal shipping. Said 5-7 days, that's fine I wasn't in a rush. Harbor Freight simply slapped a sticker on the existing box and mailed it, presumably to cut down on shipping costs. Tracking a shipment on their site is painfully ineffective. After 10 days I eventually pulled the shipping # from an email and checked w FedEx. All FedEx listed was that both items had a shipping exception. I thought, I'll wait a few days and see how their customer support team reacts.
So I waited 4-5 days and it was still radio silence. Maybe we've all gotten spoiled with how Amazon does online business but seriously you could build in something to your system that alerts you when somethings wrong, and even *gasp* automate those messages to a customer.
I contacted support and it took them 24 hours to reply to email. They offered a couple options but weren't apologetic or genuinely concerned. HF shipped 2 new LED bulbs and wouldn't ya know, 1 more of them broke in transit! Of the 4 separate boxes they sent, only 1 arrived safely due to a complete disregard for how you should mail fragile items.
So guess what, I messaged them again this time asking for a refund. Took 24 hours to reply and got the same generic reply, completely devoid of any sympathy or concern.
Yes they're refunding the item that never arrived. It took about 30 days to get 1 working LED bulb to our home. No they don't give a dang about you or care about general impressions.
You don't have to be Amazon but my gosh take some lessons.
Its hard to track your order
I think the company has great tools and everything but when I ordered something from these guys it's hard to track it and today I'm at home waiting for this to be delivered but it's saying it's still in South Carolina so I will not order from this company again because I like to track my order
Gas can broke apart and fell into John…
Gas can broke apart and fell into John Deere riding mower’s gas tank (12 hours on unit). Had to have gas tank removed and debris cleaned out. HF lied about complaint and only offered to reimburse 1/2 the total repair bill. STAY AWAY!
Why I will never rate another purchase
I recently made an in-store purchase at harbor freight. this morning I received "thank you" email from them asking to fill out a survey and enter for a free gift. Moments after the survey said credit card denied I received a text from my credit card company that stated a suspected fraudulent charge was denied at BALLIN DAYS.
Guaranteed generator kept cutting off…
Guaranteed generator kept cutting off...he said IT was guaranteed well iT kept cutting off so Took The Thing back..he charged almost $100. restocking fee fee. Rip off do not do business. This place is out for money only not to salsify customers' ....do not buy from Them. money is Tight these people do not care.
Harbor Freight return scam sell junk then keep 20% on the return!
They sell small water pumps for ponds that have a posted water pressure rating on the package, it shows a height and expected flow at each distance in height from the pump to opening. The pumps are no where near the rating and cannot be used as they are said. I made the mistake of buying one and testing it and found it was inferior to the one I wanted to replace. But I went to return it and get a bigger one but I forgot to bring it with me and just bought the bigger pump for twice the price. Now I had around $50 tied up in pumps but wasn't that concerned expecting to return them if the bigger one couldn't do the task. Of course it wasnt any better than the smaller one and I returned them both only to find that they will charge you for their lies they post as false specs to get you to buy it in the first place! 20% or ⅕th of the sale as a restocking fee! Meaning I lost $10 for shopping at a store I honestly knew would not be able to match the quality of even the cheapest made pumps sold on Temu or aliexpress that cost half as much as HF!
I know this because I have ordered pumps from them before and one I got was so much better than what HF sells that at the price I paid at Temu ($16 shipped to my home in 10 days) I would have to pay over $50 (or more since thats the next step up from the $26 one I had) to get the same output but the thing is the temu pump has lasted 2 years and still going strong dispite running low on water for hours at a time in 120+ heat in AZ running in an evap cooler 10+ hours a day for our long summers of 4 or 5 months.
I have 2 coolers and the original pump started making a bit louder sound and wanted to have a ready replacement just incase. It still outperformed the brand new HF crap, especially after I removed it and took a closer look at the calcium build up inside the case. A quick cleaning and the noise stopped. I still would have kept a new one if I got it for the same price as my last one, but even at nearly twice the price it couldnt pump enough water to be effective!
There should be a law that stops crooked rip off stores from selling junk and charging for returns. That has to be illegal, im going to write my senator about HFs scamming ways and see what they think. Its obvious that they do this simply due to the large amount of unhappy buyers who constantly return stuff based on false advertising. Maybe they need to stop lying about their tools or charge much less so its not a big deal if it doesnt work but when theyre basically unable to meet the lowest quality standards set by apps like AE and Temu and charge 2 times as much plus rip you off on returns one can only hope to see HF go out of business now that they are so easily replaced by an app with cheaper prices, bigger selection, better quality and much better service, you'd think they'd see this and be more careful to try and keep the few buyers they have? I know i would be worried if it was my business or store, maybe they have no idea whats going on in the world right now as far as mail ordering goes?
Disappointed customer
I had bought a multifunction ladder a couple months ago from their Elk Grove CA store when it was on sale. Today the first time I opened to use and I saw paint drips, dirty lubricant and scratches all over the ladder. Really Harbor Freight, for your customer’s safety, you should not sell the used or return items as new one without inspection and warning, etc. Now it’s too late to return. I am really disappointed.
I love this store
I love this store. As long as you know what kind of quality you are going tp get and if the tool will be enough for what you need it for there is always a great deal here
Bought a 15 gal
Bought a 15 gal. Herbicide sprayer which did not work out of the box, returned to Harbor freight and they said because it was a sprayer they can not take it back in the store that I would have to go online and fill out a form and they will contact you in 2 to 3 days. I explained that I needed the sprayer to spray before I planted oats this weekend, they said I would need to buy another one if I needed it that bad. On the website for returns it says that someone will contact you within 2 to 3 days after the form has been filled out. After 3 days I called them to see what's the deal and the lady said in reality it takes 10 to 15 days before they even look at your email. Harbor Freight needs to hire some more help instead of advertising there lies on TV. I've bought over 50,000 dollars of their stuff over the last 15 to 20 years and I've never returned anything that was broken, I wish I would have tried to return something under warranty 15 years ago and spent my money somewhere else.
My local HF is professional and product serviceable
My local HF in Hazlet NJ has some of the best Customer Service reps anywhere. Knowledgeable staff and engaged check out team. HF is not a company I would put life and limb on the line for. What HF is, serviceable items at a fair price. HF is my go to location for all projects. Home projects, tools that the rental prices is more than HF purchase prices. My recent purchase, a hobby, grinder thing. Like a Dremel, did the job. No issues and it was fun. Be wise with any purchase but with the new product lines from HF going after the big name market, watch out. The giant has awakened.
Ratcheting 1/2 inch drive Brealer bar
Purchased a harbor freight 1/2 inch drive ratcheting breaker bar just a couple weeks ago.used it for the first and only time on 10-2-23. It broke the first time attempting to use it! Tital JUNK!
Returned Bauer pressure washer 2000 due…
Returned Bauer pressure washer 2000 due to weak performance of machine.
I only purchased it for spraying items around the house not for highly dirty or oily area primarily for eaves. This B machine really worked no better than garden hose and nozzle. Sadly, had $35 withheld for restocking fee. Very unhappy with harbor freight.
Most looks like this store are members…
Most looks like this store are members only. every time i go there the price tag does not match at the cashier counter. 2nd problem with the coupon if they scans your coupon at the ck out. the coupon is gone OR you buy the product with their price. customer service is so bad. it is hard to believed that i am is the store in USA. BAD SERVICE BAD PRICEING

Restocking fee, Never explained
I bought a predator 173cc engine on 9-27-23 at your Medina Oh. Store 005634 from Kimberly who stressed that she was a manager. When I got home I realized that the engine would not work for my application, Kimberly told me I had 90 days to return it after she tried to sell me extended warranty. I returned it on 9-28-23 to the Mansfield Oh Store 00221.I was told even though it was never removed from the box she would charge me 20% restocking fee, she had a guy open the box, pear in, close it and tape it up, that cost 46.00? He never touched the engine. Holly said this fee I cannot wave and will not wave. And then asked what I wanted to do; the engine was no good to me, so I continued with the transaction! I asked Holly why I was never told of that policy of 20% restocking fee, she said you should of been that's why we have highlighters at the register, and she showed me a blue one. I told her you see my receipt and there is nothing highlighted on it, this never made a difference. I will never purchase anything from your stores again and want all me personal date and information removed from your system. I bought the engine from a manager, how can you be a manager when you don't follow the rules, like explaining the restocking fee, I would have never bought the engine if I'd known that. This was a learning experience, I learned that i Will never spend money in your stores again. And I hope anyone that reads this review feels same way and takes their business elsewhere.
They Lost Another Customer
I went to buy a dust collector and had a 25% manager's coupon. The dust collector was around 300 so that would have saved me about 75. Unfortunately, the coupon was about 10 hours expired. The cashier blankly ignores the coupon and requests the full amount. My wife actually talked me into going through with the purchase that I was going to cancel. I wish I had canceled. This thing is junk! All of the small parts, screws, washers, bolts were thrown into a single bag, hundreds of them. On top of that, you only get a single blow-up drawing to assemble this thing with. About half of the parts list was short of washers and such. They asked for a review via email and I gave it. I have not heard a thing from them. HF could care less how happy you are. There is another new sucker right behind you falling for their so called low prices. HF will NEVER see me again!
