The worst courier service I've ever come across (HDNL/ YODEL)

I've never written a review for a courier service before but after countless terrible experiences I've had with HDNL or so called YODEL, I was determined to write a review so other customers won't fall in to them just like me. I made an order with the Disney store on line and I was texted the item would be delivered on certain date and the Disney store sent me an e-mail with a link to track the order so did I tracked at the end of the day since I haven't received it and it said they tried to deliver but there was no body at the address and left a card which is a lie. I was there waiting for the order all day no one showed up or no cards were left so I picked up the phone to their customer service on the following day and explained them the situation but by the time I call it was already again on the van for redelivery but this time they tried to deliver and left a card. They did apologized for that though I asked them not to redeliver it again as I already have had bad experiences with their service before and I told them to leave a note for the depot and that I'll come and collect the item on the next day. As I told them I was gonna go to the depot on the next day but just thought of tracking the order before I leave to the depot and guess what those dumb as*** put my order back on the delivery van to be delivered again so I called their customer service again asked them what should I do now though I had to have on that day and if I don't get on that it was useless for me anyway and they said as it's already been loaded to the van and the van has left the depot they can't do nothing about it and asked me wait until it get delivered and I waited and waited never turned up again so I traced the order again and what was on the website surprised me! guess what it said, it was mentioned the item has been delivered to the customer, I was waiting for the courier to call up even having all my appointments cancelled on that day because it was so important for me to get my order on that day. What I don't understand is? first of all they lied about trying to deliver and after that they got the address right and left a card because they couldn't deliver and the then they delivered the item to elsewhere which had the same address when they left a card on their first attempt. The verdict is I never got the item I ordered and HDNL or so called YODEL suck at what they do and I am so utterly disgusted about it :( just a friendly suggesion to my fellow customers and businesses please don't use them for your courier service and get disappointed or businesses don't loose your trust on you by your valuable customers loose your profits because of a lame ars* company like HDNL/ YODEL

NB: I don't like to swear but these countless bad experiences made me use my French and I do apologise for that but don't regret it one bit.

PS: I'll never order anything from any business who use HDNL/ YODEL as their courier ever again and if it's gonna cost me more, let it, but I'm not ready to be let down time and time again and I am intend to write the same review every where I possibly could just make people aware how dodgy are these cun** ...

You actually have to work hard at being this bad

I have actually never written an online review of a company before, but the service we have received from HDNL was so appalling that I felt I had to write something. We ordered 4 identical PC's through amazon, all being collected from and delivered to the same address.

HDNL delivered two to the correct address & two to the billing address. Fine. Pretty stupid but these things happen. They now refuse to accept that the deliveries went to the wrong address and have told amazon to contact their depot directly rather than central office. Oh yeah, and the depot has no phone line, so amazon have to send them an email.

They then agree a time and date to pick them up - but dont show up. They then say they have no record of this conversation and I have to start the whole thing again.

TERRIBLE- I CANT BELIEVE AMAZON STILL USE THEM

Absolutely TERRIBLE!

When people like something, they may say: 'I couldn't complain about it...'. Well I couldn't IN A MILLION FLIPPING YEARS COMPLIMENT THESE I D I O T S!!
Only twice have we had items 'delivered' by HDNL, both times, items have failed to be delivered. It says they have left it in a safe place on the porch...I don't have a porch! You didn't knock on the door when I've been in all day. It is terrible. And both times, the items being delivered cost more than £150. They are absolutely terrible and it is disgraceful Amazon use them. Why can they not just stick to FedEx and good ol' Royal Mail. This is the most RIDICULOUS, PATHETIC excuse for a delivery company and they should pick up their sticks and go p**s off some other people because in busy Britain where people work, people are preoccupied, people don't have time for this IT IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS TO HAVE THIS S**T company going around claiming they have delivered expensive packages when, in actual fact, they've bloody lost 'em. To top it ALL off...they have rubbish customer service INSISTING they delivered the parcel at 7PM when I was most definitely in at the time. C'mon Amazon, I don't pay £50 Prime for this.

They got me too

Ordered something from Amazon.
Didn't receive anything.
On hdnl website they say "delivered through letterbox"...
Now, the ordered item wasn't VERY big, but definitely cannot pass through the letterbox!

How can Amazon still do business with this people after all the complains? Or they just don't care?

Don't deliver to High Streets - whats the point...

So they persistently wont delivery to my work address because its 'not accessible' . Funny, since Royal Mail, UPS, TNT, Parcelforce and UKMail all delivery there just fine.
Then they lie on their tracking info on their website saying they left a card and attempted twice to deliver but nobody was there!?
Amazon need to drop their contract with these idiots.

Is it just people complaining about HDNL when something goes wrong?

It feels like HDNL have been ganged up on here! The internet is all well and good as a place for people to spout off when something goes wrong, but do they ever come on here and say when they have done something right?

I am working 2000 miles away from home at the moment so ordered a Valentines Gift from Moonpig (Flowers, Chocolate, Balloon and Card) for my Girlfriend to get delivered to her office today. After seeing the horror stories on this site I thought the worst.

However, at 12.20pm today, the gift box arrived with her in perfect condition!

Top knotch service HDNL!

Seems all the complaints for HDNL are linked to Amazon has anyone ever thought it could be due to the systems integration between Amazon and HDNL giving incorrect information?

One star is one too many

Only given one star as it is not possible to score nothing. I ordered a camera lens from Amazon last week. Tracking it today apparently HDNL delivered it on Wednesday to the "Front Porch". We don't have a front porch and neither do any of our neighbours so heaven only knows where they have left it. Fortunately Amazon are sending a replacement for the lens, hopefully not with HDNL this time.

Worse than rubbish, avoid

I am just going to repeat what everyone else has already said, useless, liars.
Waited in all day, no sign, at 3pm checked tracking only to find out parcel had been delivered at 1.21pm to my front porch hmmm, I dont have a front porch, and no-one has been anywhere near my house all day. Spent the following 2 hours on the phone to what is now Yodel who just palmed me off to amazon and the overseas call centre, which is a nightmare Never again. And we're losing HMV.

HDNL - I JUST WANT MY ORDER!

How a "company" with such horrendous customer service and poor operation management is still afloat/ still wins contracts from big names/ has still NOT been shut down or at very least had its internal processes reviewed in this day and age is beyond me.

Found a failed delivery card left in the morning - was in all morning with the door within earshot, no knock or sign of attempted delivery apart from the failed delivery card. Fair enough, perhaps I'd gone temporarily deaf.

On trying to reschedule delivery/ pick-up from depot with the reference number on their card as advised, was told numerous times by their website AND their phone line that the reference number was not recognised. Bare in mind I tried this various different times throughtout the day on the day of failed delivery and the following day just incase theyre system hadnt been updated yet.

No telephone number to ACTUALLY SPEAK to someone on HDNL website apart from the useless rescheduling line, though fortunately I managed to get hold of two different depot numbers from some nice people on the web for my nearest depot. BUT noone actually answers either of the phonelines for the depot.

So, I contact Office (who i ordered from) they eventually (4 working days later) let me know that theyve asked the courier to redeliver, though with no ETA

Day 1 (day i was informed id have a redelivery) - no parcel. Fair enough.
Day 2 - no parcel
Day 3 - no parcel
Day 4 - thats today.....STILL NO PARCEL

I JUST WANT MY ORDER! DELIVERY OR PICK UP I DONT CARE I JUST WANT IT!!!!!

Also note: unlike so many other people on this site, I have actually once received an order from HDNL, however this was only after a failed delivery and i picked up from my local depot. Okay the failed delivery wasnt their fault that time and they did leave a valid referenced card - WELL DONE. However when I went to collect my parcel, I did get it, but the Norwich Depot was an absolute state, parcels piled/ toppling everywhere looked horrendously disorganised...I thought not alot of it at the time as they did actually find my parcel, but perhaps the shockingly kept depot was just scatching the surface on a truely catastrophically run sham of an organisation.

STEER CLEAR AT ALL COSTS - POOR COMMUNICATION WITH CUSTOMERS, POOR ORGANISATION AND POOR SERVICE.

THEY MAKE ME HATE INTERNET SHOPPING AND THATS SAYING SOMETHING BECAUSE INTERNET SHOPPING IS LIKE CRACK TO ME!

A simply terrible company (would give zero stars if possible)

here is a warning to any Amazon customers who read this. if your parcel is marked for delivery by a company called 'HDML' or 'Yodel' - cancel your order straight away. They are an awful delivery company, simply Google HDML and read the reviews. I have been waiting for a parcel from Amazon (I will also point out that the order was split into two packages, one delviered by City Link - which arrived on christmas eve, and the other by HDML (the package entrusted to them values at over £400) which I am still wating for) which was supposed to be delivered on the 28th.
the company has since claimed an 'address problem' and an 'attempted delivery', yet no attempt has been made by the company to contact me or let me know they could not deliver despite clear instructions being left on the door.
The company also has no way of contacting them other than a premium rate call line and an postal adress - no email or anything
The so called 'live chat' that I used seems to be nothing more than an automated response machine answering my very descriptive and complicated queries with questions like 'The system is loading your details, this wont take a moment'
so in the end - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
shame on you Amazon for using such a awful company

Awful Awful Awful

These are 2 example of many mistakes by this shambles HDNL :

1) Updated tracking info online to say a parcel had been delivered on the scheduled day. Instead they delivered the next day without any notice.

2) They said they attempted delivery and left a card. No card. And no contact number for complaints.

AWFUL HDNL

Magic vans with the power to bend time and space except.... Not in your favour.

Well I'm the latest in the list of unhappy campers. I've been waiting all day and upon looking for their tracking details online saw that it had been in the van in lichfield since 08:18. I came across this website after trying to contact them with no success and on the back of all this negative opinion called and asked Amazon to change over to Royal mail for this order. Unfortunately Amazon said that couriers were chosen at random and offered to call the company for me They could not get ahold of HDNL/Yodel any better than I could, but assured me that it was in their best interest to deliver ontime as their drivers get paid less if they do not deliver on time. Well from what I have seen on here they must be balancing the books somehow because their delivery times are all over the place.
Anyway imagine my surprise when the Yodel delivery page I have been refreshing all day to see if anything has changed at 20:57 suddenly says: " Delivery attempted, call card left Lichfield van 22nd Dec 2012 08:48"!! This is news to me as I didn't see the card and the website didn't confirm it until less that ten minutes ago.

I guess that somebody couldn't be bothered and just updated the system with false information at the end of their shift either that or the van went back in time and the driver posted an invisible/intangible card through my front door. My what a wondrous age we must live in!!

Hdnl make strong case for introduction of 0 star rating

I'm so happy everyone else has been as appalled as I have with this disgrace that goes by the name of "HDNL". Although in HDNL's defence, their order tracking system states that they have delivered my parcel twice within a ten minute period, yesterday. Although I was at home I must've missed them both times! Luckily for me, they've told me that I should be expecting it for a third time today. As well as tomorrow. If that doesn't work, having waited over a week, they suggest calling them, even though their listed phone number expired in 2009. I support any initiative to remove HDNL of their position as Amazon's couriers. In future, I will revert to walking to the Amazon depot rather than rely on these fucking idiots. Merry Christmas x

As you've already gathered if you're reading this

You've been a victim of the worst delivery company in Britain according to this website. Amazon employ them and should be ashamed. I ordered a camera with next day delivery as I go on holiday on Saturday. The liars that are HDNL / Yodel claim they tried to deiver it yesterday. They didn't as my office is open 24 hours. No card, nothing. You can't even contact them. I've been on with Amazon and have managed to negotiate a refund after 45 minutes on the phone. I won't have the refund for at least 3 days, which is after I go on hoilday. No camera and no money. I reckon everynoe who comes on here should send their info to the BBC, a rogue traders special on HDNL, or watchdog, or even Crimewatch.... HDNL are complete and utter bullsh1tters. 0 / 10

There are not enough four letter words to describe this rubbish company.

I'm going to add my sad story to this thread. HDNL have 'delivered' two packages to us this week - neither of which have appeared at our house. No cards through the door either, of course. And you cannot call them without this magic 'failed delivery' notice. We have called Amazon who have refunded our orders, but that means we now don't have a gift for our 5 year old daughter for Christmas and I don't think we can find a replacement in time. Thanks for ruining my daughter's Christmas HDNL! I guess Santa won't be bringing that gift after all.

By the way, we have no problem with any other carrier delivering to our house. DPD have been awesome.

HDNL are a disgrace to Amazon

Ordered a package in good time to be delivered for my daughters birthday. The expected delivery date came and went with no parcel. Called Amazon who confirmed that the parcel was loaded and would be delivered the next day. The day came and went, no delivery. Found the phone number for the depot (not easy by the way) called and was told " we dont 'ave yer parcel mate", I advised them that according to the website it was at your depot, only to be told "I've just effing told ya, we dont have it" followed by the click of the phone being put down. Again advised Amazon who again assured me it was out for delivery, but alas still no parcel! Asked Amazon to arrange for parcel to be returned which the they did and refunded the money. Low and behold, 3 weeks later HDNL try and deliver the parcel they were supposed to have returned to Amazon! Unbelievable!!!!!!! What a disgrace of a company! I am surprised researching this shambolic company that Amazon continues to use them, there are 1000's of complaints and bad reviews. COME ON Amazon, ditch them to save your reputation. I for one will not use Amazon again until it is confirmed they are not using HDNL. Stay away, for your own sanity! What a shame we have to give 1 star, they dont deserve any!!!!

Unreliable

Waited in all day for a delivery from Amazon via their Prime next day service. Nothing delivered. Just checked with the tracking details and it records that a delivery was attempted at 11.00 this morning and that a card had been left with contact details. THIS IS UNTRUE AS NO ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO DELIVER MY PARCEL AND NO CARD WAS LEFT. I have been in contact with Amazon who are arranging delivery for tomorrow. I don't hold out much hope with this outfit.
