We have used HDS for a number of years now and have always been very happy with their work and their friendly professional manner.
Last year they installed a Worcester Bosch boiler for us which just developed an intermittent fault. As it is still under warranty we called out a Worcester Bosch engineer to resolve the issue, and they reported that HDS had done an exceptional job when installing the boiler and flue.
We are very happy to recommend HDS.

HDS recently installed a new boiler and five radiators. They were great, worked hard and finished everything to a high standard. Their charges were very fair. I’m so pleased I went with them.

HDS Plumbing and Heating installed our new Greenstar 4000 boiler in November 2023. The installers hadn't even left our property after the handover when we noticed that the living room radiator was stone cold. It turned out the valve had been shut tight after the system flush. The installers re-opened the valve and the radiator immediately heated up. Later that evening we discovered we had no hot water, and that was fixed the next day. We kept reporting to the installers that the new boiler was making strange noises and was generally much louder than our old boiler, including the occasional loud bang during ignition. Multiple engineers from HDS Plumbing and Heating visited us between January and February but couldn't find anything wrong. They told us that none of these issues had anything to do with their installation and were either normal or something for Worcester Bosch to sort out.

When an engineer from Worcester Bosch visited in March, he spotted the issues immediately and was able to fix most of them the same day. The explosive ignition we had reported to HDS Plumbing and Heating was caused by an incorrectly adjusted gas valve, which had gone beyond repair and needed to be replaced. Worcester Bosch explained that on older boiler models it was possible to adjust the gas valve the way the installers had done, but not on the newer models. As a Worcester Bosch accredited company, HDS Plumbing and Heating should have been aware of this. The weird noises from the boiler, especially while running on hot water, were caused by trapped air in the magna filter.

The condensing soak away was not installed according to the Worcester Bosch instruction manual (too close to the house and no air break), and we received an advice notice on the day of the Worcester Bosch engineer visit that stated we do not have boiler warranty until this issue has been rectified. HDS Plumbing and Heating had offered remedial work but by that stage we had lost all confidence in their workmanship. We appointed a different heating and plumbing company to carry out the remedial work at our own cost. After more than 4 months since the new boiler had been installed, all the issues have finally been rectified. After this disappointing experience we are unable to recommend HDS Plumbing and Heating.

I have used HDS to install radiators and they have been brilliant, there has been one minor issue but this has been addressed efficiently.
They also installed a new cloakroom for my elderly father, and did an excellent job. The tiler even went and got extra tiles as my Dad had miscalculated. It has been reassuring to have such a professional and friendly team, especially as Dad has had several bad experiences with Plumbers in the past. They have certainly restored my confidence, highly recommend.

Annual boiler service.
Great experience. Lewis the engineer arrived in good time of my morning appointment. He was very friendly and helpful when asked for advice about the boiler.

Appointment was booked promptly & Lewis who came out was very helpful, clearly explaining the issue on my boiler & the timeframes for repair given this was over Christmas. Repair executed efficiently & solved as advised. Prompt, efficient & friendly. Also reasonable prices. Also like that receipts are emailed.

All the people I spoke to and came to the house were friendly and helpful. However I arranged a service for £90 and was told everything was fine but following day I discovered a leak. Engineer returned and said I needed the filter to be replaced. This cost an additional £270. The part retails at less than £60 and it was an hours work. I thought this expensive. A few days later I had to switch the boiler off because the pressure was too high. Another engineer came and drained water from the system. Working fine now.

Harry and his team installed a new boiler for me prior to Christmas in Duston Northampton. My partner and I had a few quotes but Harry took the time to sit down and go through the quotation and explain exactly what the job involved. I’d be happy to recommend HDS Plumbing and Heating
