I have paid my premiums religiously for over 18 years, by direct debit
Unfortunately my cat passed away 16/04/2026.
The vet bill at on his death was £942
I am astounded that the options I have been given are to pay the vet bill myself and cancel the insurance OR
Healthy pets will pay the vet bill and I continue to pay my monthly direct debit for December 2026 for a deceased cat!!!!!!
and I also have to pay a 20% premium of that said bill because of his age when he died
What choice is that?, paying insurance for 8 months for my cat !!!!!! that is no longer breathing.
A very callous attitude!
I’m traumatised by everything that happened this week without financially struggling also
The vet himself said that he has dealt with many pet insurance companies and has never heard of any of them carry out this obscene practice.

DO NOT RECOMMEND! Claim process is complicated and very lengthy-also, in our experience, often challenged. But most importantly, total disregard for our loyalty as customers of 13 yrs +!!! Insurance premium for our pet has been increased out of nowhere by a whopping 50% year on year :( citing generic costs increases. Heartbreaking that an older pet which obviously is more likely to be in need of medical attention get penalized in this way. Think carefully before putting the health of your beloved pet in Healthy Pets hands - they are very happy to take your money when the pet is young and healthy but very quick to radically increase the premium when your pet might need it the most, knowing you have no other choice than staying with them. Literally heartbreaking to think that we might not even be able to afford medical insurance anymore. Thank you Healthy Pets!!!

Will take away some of the worry of health and money
I haven’t needed to call on the company’s help because I’ve only just signed my kitten up and of course I’m hoping she has a long and healthy life. This will just take some of the worry away if it ever comes to issues with her health.
