Healthy Pets Insurance was founded in 1996 by Mark Effenberg, as Chief Executive of a pet-loving business insuring the UK's cats and dogs. Today, Healthy Pets, which was founded before Google, is an established participant in the £1 billion-plus UK pet insurance market. Based in Petersfield, Hampshire Decades on, the fact that we are a leader in online insurance and know how pet owners think gives Healthy Pets Insurance, as of 2017 part of The Ardonagh Group of companies, a distinct advantage. We talk cats and dogs, and we truly understand that pets really are members of the family. Being internet-based with a team of understanding pet specialists available over the phone, means we can offer high-quality cover at more than competitive prices. Because we are efficient, agile and specialist, and we know pets and their needs from our own experience, Healthy Pets has one of the highest renewal rates in the pet insurance industry because, in our view, whether it's the opening contact or dealing with a complex claim, we know how important it is not just to hear our customers, but to listen to every woof and meow. Mark has always been a dog owner, and it was his experiences as a "pet parent" back in the mid-1990s that caused him to establish Healthy Pets Insurance - for the simple reason that he could not find an insurer at the time who truly understood the bond between a dog and its owner, and, speaking to friends, he found it was much the case with cats too.

Had a new quote, which was £30, more, did a search on Moneysupermarket. And you guys gave me a quote for £3 more than I'm paying now, happy days.

The price was good and the terms generally good but the cover doesn’t start for several days after the policy starts, so if my dog had an accident in the first week we wouldn’t be covered. Why??

Have been with them on automatic renewal for years.
Renewal was so high I called for reqoute and got it for half the renewal price.
Helpful lady on phone sorted it for me.
My fault should have phoned each year for price.
Moral of it is if your not happy with the price call them.

How pleasant to actually talk to a human being and one who had infinite patience with me (I have problems speaking due to growths in my throat) who explained everything very clearly. Policy quoted was a good price

The premium price was acceptable and although not all the things I’d have liked to be covered aren’t, it’s still a good policy.
It would have been nice to be refunded for the initial cost of the pet (although I guess it’s not really THAT important after the pet has passed) but some financial help towards the cremation costs would help ease the situation. .

I only gave 4 star rating as this is a new membership. I don’t know how things will pan out when I need to make a claim. It will only be then will I know the about the service received. having said that, the process and application was straightforward and the person I dealt with was courteous and helpful.

My pet has been insured with Healthy Pets since 2021. As a rescue from Crete with mixed heritage she has enjoyed a fairly untroubled intoduction to the UK.
Apart from a disgnosis of Giardia in her early years she has been resiliant and trouble free. Our claims were easy to deal with giving a quality experience until she was completely clear of the condition. Renewal of our policy is always a pleasure with helpful staff who often find a new policy at a much discounted price.
