Unable to diagnose faults on multiple visits

They have been called out for two separate instances to the property. Each time blamed the Honeywell Smart System but did not diagnose the underlying cause. Another heating company diagnosed the fault at first attempt each time. This firm still charged and billed my insurance company, without providing any service. Also found staff quite rude and did not want to listen to me regarding the fault. Incredibly poor service and lack of expertise.

Avoid

Was assigned Heatcraft via the home emergency cover with my bank. They attended and advised they'd have to come back another day and access our leak via the ceiling on the ground floor.

They arrived 2 days later to carry out the repair, made 3 large holes in my ceiling, didn't find the leak and charged £300.20 in total.

They left and closed the job stating they'd need to take up the toilet tiles and floor to locate the leak and I should go through my buildings insurance. All the time my house still has a constant leak.

My issue with this is that the £300.20, including £50.20 excess of my own cash was paid to fix the emergency which didn't happen. They refused to offer any refund even though their report states they'd quoted for 4 hours labour and in fact only attended my property for little over an hour in total over the 2 visits.

After some complaining I got my £50.20 back but they've still taken £250 for making 3 holes in a ceiling from another company.

Good afternoon Ms Mckenzie.

We are sorry that you feel this way, however unfortunately with your job going through your home emergency insurance we are governed by what is covered within your policy. In this instance, you had a leak through your ceiling, after being instructed to cut the ceiling down to try and trace the leak we confirmed that it was coming from a pipe above a wall. The only way to then access this pipe was to lift tiles from above.
1) We would not have been able to trace the leak without gaining access through the ceiling. This was all explain before the engineer started the trace and access
2) We cannot start removing your tiles without authorisation from your insurers.

It is not Heatcrafts decision to refer things to building insurance, this is done internally within your insurance company. We are an external contractor and do not know who your building insurers are, but with situations like yours it would naturally go to building insurance as your house is being damaged in the process of the repairing the leak.

Lastly, we have not been paid £250 for this job. Your policy limit was £250, we were instructed to take £50.20 overlimit before starting the job which was refunded to you the same day. I have listened to the telephone calls and we did not refuse to refund you this money.

Kind regards
Heatcraft

Do not care about customer service

Although I stated in a call to a heatcraftltd administrator (Laura Lawrence) that there was a child in the house she arranged an engineer visit several days later.
I contacted Her again as the situation was worsening and she managed to arrange an earlier visit.
The engineer who attended was friendly, stayed for a few minuteds making a diagnosis and stating that parts would have to be ordered.
a few days later i contacted the office again as I had not heard back regarding a timeline for the repair, Laura Lawrence said that it would take up to 3 working days at least to get the parts in.
I was contacted within the next few days and told that the parts were available and the engineer visit for the repair would be on the thursday the 9th January.
The engineer attended in the afternoon and replaced the expansion chamber.
This repair was unsuccessful and the boiler showed the same error message.
I moved my wife and 3 year old daughter into alternative accommodation
I then contacted their service desk and complained that the boiler was not fixed. I was told that the engineer would attend the following week. I said that this was not acceptable (i urge the director Martha Kelleher to please refer to the recorded calls).
I was called back later on the 11th and told that an engineer would attend the following morning, I was complimentary to Laura for making the effort.

The following day(12th January 2025) I waited at the house in the cold from 08h00 to well after 13h00 and no-one attended. The temperature remained close to freezing all day.
Around 14h00 Jack Johnson called me to say that there had been a road traffic accident and that was why the engineer did not attend. I said I was sorry that this happened but I complained that i should have been informed earlier as I had waited the whole day in the house. Jack then went on a rant about how the service engineer was more important than letting me know. Each time I tried to speak he spoke over me and reiterated that the service engineer who was in the road traffic accident was more important than CUSTOMERS. Jack went on to state that someone was on their way to me that afternoon and I said there would be no-one at the house to receive the engineer. and agreed with Jack that the following day would be better No-one attended the following day!

I tried to call Heatplan for two days but was unable to contact anyone and some strange voicemail service terminated the call.

This afternoon I spoke with Laura Lawrence again who said that there would be no attendance of an engineer to the property as the company had decided I had been rude. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE JACK WAS RUDE TO ME. And an extra £175 pounds was deducted from my account for the botched repair. Laura went on to say I was also rude to her at times however i deny this and would urge anyone querying this to review the recorded conversations.

ON THE COLDEST DAY OF THE YEAR THEY REFUSED TO ATTEND TO A HEATING PROBLEM WHERE THERE WAS A 3 YEAR OLD IN THE HOUSE

Dean from Heatcraft did an amazing job…

Dean from Heatcraft did an amazing job on a leaking radiator pipe. I was expecting to have the system drained down. But Dean somehow managed to fit a new compression joint without draing down. He was polite and worked at pace to repair the pipe. He clearly knows his craft. Thanks Dean

Useless booked a day off

Useless booked a day off. They phoned and blamed it on the part not being delivered. No apology very rude woman. Would not recommend. The only reason for the visit was the engineer to replace the pressure guage that he broke on previous visit.

Excellent boiler install

Excellent boiler install
The guys were very pleasant and knew what they were doing. Despite a few setbacks which were no fault of their own they stayed and overcame the issues and installed my boiler. I was very happy with their work and would happily use them again.
