Helliwell & Co. truly went above and beyond, offering both professionalism and clarity throughout all forms of communication in our journey to buying our dream first home. From organising prompt viewings to keeping us informed with every step of the way, we highly recommend their estate agent expertise. Thank you to all the team for making it possible!

Helliwell's incompetence was unbelievable. It took them over 4 months to fix curtains that had fallen from a roof window due to weight of curtains. They sent 4 contractors to fix a side panel of three doors. One of the contractors was sent twice. We couldn't open the doors for over 5 months. It got fixed in 3 weeks once rain started coming in from the outside. Amazingly, the landlady fixed the roof curtain and got the side doors fixed. The fence in the garden didn't get fixed til after we left. When I complained about the curtain and the roof window plus the side panel kitchen doors, Helliwell asked if I wanted them to ask the landlady if I could be released from the contract instead of trying to help.

When we left we were forced to pay £900 for cleaning even though I said I could find a cheaper Professional Cleaner, £600. They said the landlady didn't think the work would be to her standard bearing in mind, she didn't fix things til it impacted her ie rain coming in from outside, amongst other things.

They charged extortionate prices. The landlady tried to charge us for upkeep of her items such as washing machine etc. Every time there was a problem, the first words Helliwell uttered were, 'if we call someone out and they find it isn't the fault of the house/landlady, you will be charged £100+ pounds' so it began with a threat.

This is a very short list, there were more issues. We were there 16 months paying £3000 monthly rent.

If you have a problem with them, complain immediately, that was the mistake I made.
