The door opener is great with the electronic board .but if you upgrade to the WiFi board your asking for trouble and there communication skills are the worst ever.they only communicate by email days or weeks later.just buy from eglo there door and opener gives no problem's

Whilst I was on holiday the control box for my eglu detached from the coop and fell to the ground. The fall resulted in rain entering the now cracked waterproof box and ruining the electronics.
I sent the control box back to Hentronix, who returned the repaired unit within 2 weeks. Much to my surprise the repairs were carried out under guarantee at no cost to myself. A lovely surprise.

What went wrong? The solar battery charging system that I paid extra for only lasts 10 days before it is drained and leaves the chickens either locked out or locked in. I tried communicating with the company (specifically Edward) and essentially got blown off. One of my favorite responses from him when I described the problem in great detail, requesting either a fix or to just go to an electric, non-solar opener was, “do you have WiFi?”
Well duh, Edward. Why would I purchase a WiFi connected opener if I didn’t have WiFi? He never answered my direct question about getting a replacement or switching to a basic electric unit. He came back with “can you send some photos?” which I had already sent.
Unfortunately this company is in England, so there’s not any real recourse, e.g., the Better Business Bureau.
If you buy a door from this company, I suggest you also invest in some personal lubricant. Otherwise the experience will be even more painful than just getting basically screwed up the … Well, you get the idea.

So far so good! My hentronix arrived yesterday and I was amazed how easy it was to set up with my eglu go up. The manual is great and the parts themselves look very good quality. Got set up in no time, went out last night to check it had closed...all good, and this morning it let the hens out nice and early! Very pleased with this item

Surprised to see negative reviews here as that is quite the opposite to my own experience. Nevertheless - I rarely write reviews, only when an experience has been extremely good or poor. Our door has been a lifesaver when on holiday or away from the house - we've supplemented with CCTV so that we can check that the chickens are in, and it's so convenient and reliable doing it this way!
Where we've had the odd issue, Edward in customer service has been so helpful and responsive. More recently it stopped working and the process to send the door back to be examined has resulted in the (rare) problem being fixed and the goods being sent back in a repaired state, ready to continue using - I've never bought from a company who would do this (particularly so long after purchase), rather more experience of being fobbed off elsewhere!
Would definitely buy again and recommend based on the excellent customer service and willingness to resolve issues.

I recently ordered a second automatic door opener for the Snap Lock coop that I have. The first was solar powered, and as stated in some reviews, did not work well if it got really cold. (Below 10 degrees F). I upgraded that one to direct power and it worked fine for about a year. I had some trouble with it opening and Edward was very helpful in giving me some things to try. Each worked for a while, but eventually I gave up and ordered another fully direct power door (no battery in the works). It is working great, even at 0 degrees F. Why would I order another if the first quit after only a couple of years, you ask? Because of the excellent customer service I got from Edward every time I contacted him. I only emailed, which seems to work best. Also, I believe part of the issue was my fault. The instructions clearly state to clean the screw drive with WD 40 and then grease about once a month. I only did that when it would stop working, so I am sure I did not help the unit any.

This door started off great. Worked like a charm. But after only 3 months of use, it’s been nothing but a headache. It rarely connects to either app, and my chickens have been locked out of or locked in their coop or the door hasn’t shut properly leaving my girls drafty and cold. I’m constantly worrying about the safety of my chickens with this door. Edward has been emailing me back and forth for a month, asking the same questions over and over. I’m really sick and tired of freezing my butt off trying to troubleshoot it with no clear solution. I have asked for a refund or a replacement, but judging from other reviews I’m not going to hold my breath. For the love of God, don’t purchase this door as it’s nothing but a headache. Absolutely not worth the ridiculous $400 price tag.

I purchased on the 20th October 2022, when purchasing it they mentioned delays. However, it is now a month later, i can't get any response from emails and nothing has been delivered. Have gone to Pay pal and opened a dispute. I just cannot recommend this company.

Terrible device! Regularly stops working, the solar panel isn’t sufficient to keep the battery charged. I often find my chickens locked out (or worse, locked in!) Customer care is non-existent

Do not buy this product, find an alternative door opener!

Like others on trustpilot I was taken in by the promise of the Wi-Fi / Bluetooth upgrade board. From day 1 it did not work correctly. No answer constantly on phone line, absolutely no response from emails. When eventually made contact, the guy Edward said his what seems to be standard spill, “ that’s strange”, but could not offer a fix then went back to unable to get hold of mode. I would suggest no one takes the risk of either locking your flock in or out of the coop with this unreliable equipment. I had 2 birds locked out all night on the 1st night and all birds locked in for a full day. It appears from other reviews this is a flawed product which Edward has no idea how to fix. The price is too much for the automatic set up anyway. I have gone back to manual. STAY CLEAR OF HENTRONIX!

Sadly, my experience matches the other one-star reviews here. I purchased the wifi automatic door in April 2022. Right from the first installation, it was buggy - with the app crashing when I tried to load the door, and often losing the wifi connection. I went so far as to put a wifi mesh unit inside my chicken coop, giving the door a better signal than most places in my house. No luck.
Edward has told me multiple times "we've just released a firmware update - please update and it should be sorted". No, in fact it gets worse each time. After the most recent update (3.21 installed on 9/29) the app crashed while the door was closing, leaving the door permanently in a "closing" state. Nothing will reset it. I've tried cycling the power, pushing the factory reset button, etc. I finally pulled the hinge pin from the door, which was stuck closed with my flock frantically banging on it trying to come in from the dark yard. Now I operate the door manually, kicking myself for spending 350 on a manual chicken door.
I have had no response from Edward or Hentronix since this last crash. I'll be pursuing a refund but want to get this information out across the internet so that no one else loses out.

It's a shame, because when the door operates correctly it's beautifully built and very convenient. However, the constant crashing, usually just as I'm about to be away from my property during open/close hours, is incredibly stressful and disappointing.
