Rude staff and unhelpful experience
Order made online after checking stock was in in the appropriate store. My husband took order confirmation into store to collect (we live a considerable distance away and this was the one increment of time he had), was rudely told by young staff member it wasn't in yet and we had to wait for collection email. He explained that it was in stock in store, and he could see the exact item on shelf. Staff member (again rudely) said we could not have that one and must wait for the one from the warehouse. By the time I had finished work that day it was too late to cancel the order. Staff member could have done so and sold us the one on the shelf as husband had explained we get few chances to come into the city. As it happened it took several more days for the item to be delivered to the store.

Helpful service
I wanted an Xbox Lego Worlds game. I was served by Paul who advised it was not held in store but he could order it into the store for me. I received an email that evening to confirm it had been dispatched and that I must wait for a further email to confirm that it was ready for collection. After 7 days I had not received the follow-up email so I called into the store. Dave served me, he was very helpful and offered to check to see if it had come in, it had. I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I hadn’t received the follow-up email. I have always found HMV to be very helpful.
