It’s been over 10 years and we’d like to think we’re now pretty good at burgers and chips. It’s been a bit of a blur, a lot of hard work, but that’s been half the fun. Good enough just isn’t good enough here. We don’t mean to brag but we’re all about top quality beef, the best potatoes and good times. Don’t just take our word for it though, we’ll let our food and people do the talking. After all, we’re Just Being Honest… From day one, we wanted to make the best British burgers on any menu, anywhere. So we spent time getting to know the best butchers in London. And we’re butchers too. We’ve opened our own butchery so we can make the burgers we’d always dreamed of. Our way. From scratch. Our beef comes from British native breed cows farmed in Great Britain & Northern Ireland. They’re grass-fed and well looked after with space to roam in the fields during spring, summer and autumn and only see a barn when it’s too cold outside during winter. We’ve also got our own butchery, making our burgers from scratch every single day.

I had lunch at Honest Burgers in…
I had lunch at Honest Burgers in Wimbledon yesterday. The waiter was efficient and friendly.
I chose the house burger and chips. The burger was delicious cooked to perfection. Critisism chips were skinny crunchy and dry. I should have had chunky chips. They should offer a variety of popular well known beer brands
I used to like to go to honest burgers…
I used to like to go to honest burgers in covent garden. But it's getting an I don't care vibe. Fries were cold and no rosemary. The burger I was asked if I wanted medium, I said yes. But I got an wayyyy overdone burger, was very chewy, tasted like chewing on paper. The toilets were very dirty. If the toilets are dirty, how can the food be clean?! A real I don't care vibe!!! Which is sad! Right in the center should have at least 4 stars!
Bad experience
I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the service at your restaurant. The staff member attending our table was not only rude and dismissive (a clear attitude problem), but we also observed them consuming alcohol while on duty. This is deeply unprofessional and created a very uncomfortable dining atmosphere. The quality of the food cannot make up for such poor and concerning conduct from your employees. We will not be returning.
Burgers taste amazing but the best part…
Burgers taste amazing but the best part was definitely the staff. Super friendly and kind.
Somethings changed
Somethings changed!
Ref: Liverpool restaurant
I would never give a one star rating after one bad experience. However last night I gave Honest burger a second chance after recently being disappointed with friends.
Both times the burgers were burnt and lacking any kind of flavour. Their signature chips usually crispy and delicious now soggy and cold. Unsure of they have changed the way they cook them or if they not using different potatoes. The chips were also heavily salted and had no rosemary flavour.
I ordered onion rings and they just tasted like grease.
We also waited 25 minutes before somebody acknowledged us and offered drinks. I had to go up to the bar and ask for them to take our order.
Poor service and poor food, which is very disappointing as it is one of the few restaurants offering gluten free options on most of their menu.
Don’t bother
Ordered a cheddar burger and onion rings via Uber Eats and was bitterly disappointed. Onion rings were completely soggy and the burger was raw in the middle, despite ordering ‘medium pink’. If that’s medium pink, then pink is more like black and white and still mooing in a field. I ate 3 bites before giving up - nothing like lukewarm chips for dinner.
Won’t be ordering again.
10 burgers - and whose is who!?!
We ordered 10 burgers, and having spent about 20 mins inputting the order, with very specific requirements, when the order came there was nothing to tell the orders apart. of the 10 burgers, 2 were labelled in any way.
Compared to 5 Guys, who have a very efficient methodology for labelling their burgers, this was rubbish.
Second, all the smash burgers, rather than being medium, were more than well done. Not super happy with the result having spent over £130 on this order.
The main thing I can recommend is that the service was pleasant which I suppose counts for something - even for a takeaway pick up.
Honest Burger Finsbury Park - nice waiting staff but long waits for food
We went to Honest Burger Finsbury Park and we had a mixed experience. Antonio who served us was lovely and was apologetic about the long wait that we had to get our food. It appeared that the Uber Eats / Deliveroo orders were taking preference over the orders from people actually in the restaurant. However the food was good once it arrived. We particularly liked the buffalo chicken burger, rosemary fries and the coleslaw. Antonio and his team did their best but they really needed more waiting staff and kitchen staff to keep it flowing as there were long queues outside the door and a long wait once you got inside and not enough staff to clear tables and take orders.
Would give a 0 if I could
Would give a 0 if I could ! Ordered 3 burgers and fries from the Tooting branch via Uber Eats. Wouldn’t touch either of these again! Best they could offer after we received cold chips and a delivery way over its scheduled time was a discounted meal in the restaurant! As if I would want to return and waste more good money on their poor food! Ignored me when I asked for a refund! Steer clear and get your burgers elsewhere!
Best burger ever
Wow! Best burger I’ve ever eaten in my life. Look you could rate other hubs badly but the honest burger in Chiswick is a,,,, whatever you can rate this place but this place is a 5 star.
Crew is so kind
Order comes so quickly
Before you leave,,man just test this place
Honest burgers replaced Gourmet burgers…
Honest burgers replaced Gourmet burgers in Wimbledon and served up a dog’s dinner. Whereas the previous chain offered a great, meaty burger with lovely chips, HB served a pathetically small, burnt burger with tasteless fries. What made matters worse was that around 9 we were asked if we could choose our desserts as the kitchen was going to shut soon! We declined, as the choice available was pathetic. However, the waitress followed this up by saying ‘you can still finish your drinks though’! The whole meal was totally over priced and so I complained via their website. I’ve had NO reply and will give this chain one year before it sinks into oblivion.
Below average burgers
Below average burgers, far too much over powering burger sauce and dry, luke warm chips. What’s to like?
Great service
Great food, the wings are top tier cooked perfectly. The meal was solid but the service from Nick! Top tier, really nice guy and sorted out the service excellently. Made our night thank you.
No complaints
No idea why the rating is not that good
They do great burgers and very tasty. They use rapeseed oil which is better than vegetable oil but no oil is great anyway for frying as oils like olive and avocado but these are just too expensive for dining out so no one uses these when frying outside your home
I did ask about the oil but she said they use mixed oil so I did a search on AI to find out.
Best burgers in town. I’ve been to Ramsey street food and he has a lot to learn still. He copied Honest burgers but no way as good. His homemade lemonade was horrible. Honest lemonade and mint is homemade and fab
Good value for money
Only thing I’d change is the decor. Some are very cold and like a school canteen
It's not the worst burger I've eaten…
It's not the worst burger I've eaten but it certainly wasn't the best. The burger was dry and pretty tasteless, I can see why they give you the onion relish and cover it in cheese. The bacon was overcooked and the whole thing was really salty. Adding salted chips made it even worse. I won't be returning.
A rare treat for coeliac and/or vegan burger lovers
I'm coeliac and eating out can be a real nightmare. Honest are the only burger place I know of who are coeliac safe - most places, regardless of the cuisine, either flatly refuse to cater for allergies* or offer a bland disclaimer that they can't guarantee food will be safe to eat. I'm not vegan but many of my friends are so I always take notice of options, and Honest offer some great veggie/vegan choices.
I've eaten at several London branches - Chiswick, Greenwich, Finsbury Park, King's Cross, South Kensington - some of them many times, and they've all been great.
Staff are always friendly and attentive, food arrives quickly and is usually fantastic (once or twice it's been less than their usual standard, but still not bad), prices are about average for a burger in London and maybe a little lower than average when you factor in that fries are included and they offer deals on sides.
The onion rings, buffalo wings, BBQ tenders, and halloumi fries are great, and staff are always happy to box up leftovers for you if you can't finish everything. The mint lemonade is so refreshing, either still or sparkling.
The app, however, is terrible, don't waste your time. It doesn't log any loyalty scans, I should be almost up to a free burger now but it's only registered one order.
*Coeliac is technically an autoimmune condition, but it's easiest to describe it as an allergy when ordering food.
We Love Honest Burger..
We Love Honest Burger... however went to the London Bridge branch & the fries didn't have the rosemary salt & were unbelievably dry. Why? HB have you changed your potatoes? How you cook it? The burgers as usual are fantastic But please if this shop is a one off go back to the great Rosemary fries you HB do. They gave us another lot but they were the same like dehydrated chips. You have to have good fries with a burger
the shrinking burgers
the vegan burgers are great, but every time I go they kept getting smaller and smaller, they at a slider size now.
Not great value for many.
The burgers "Rude, insulting, and condescending service at Honest Burgers Greenwich Honest Burgers Greenwich…
The burgers at Honest Burgers Greenwich might be good, but the service is appalling. I politely asked about an unexplained service charge on my bill, and the staff member’s response was shocking: “If you can’t read, I can’t help you,” said with a smirk. She refused to listen, was rude, and made me feel looked down on. Disrespect like this ruins the whole experience. I will never return
Poor at best!
I went to the Spitalfields branch at lunchtime as Unity Diner (which is amazing!) was closed for a private function. We entered and the lady sat us on a table. The menus were half thrown on the table at us before she disappeared. The furniture was uncomfortable wooden chairs. We waited a while then had to call someone to take the order. We ordered a burger and chips each, a couple of sparkling waters (which arrived in an open flask and in glasses that shall we say, were "well used" and a beer.
The beer was warm. I asked for it to be replaced only to be told the keg had been changed so thats why it was warm and I could swap it for a large cold can but it would cost more. I just said to leave it and remove it from the bill.
The food arrived and was not hot. It was barely warm. It was bland and had not much taste. We were hungry so just ate it. I asked for some vinegar and the waitress went looking around all the tables and came back with a bottle that literally had the last few drops in it before it was empty.
I went to the shared M/F bathroom which was extremely dark and felt dingy. It didnt feel very nice using a shared bathroom.
When we asked for the bill, we had to ask for the warm beer to be removed from it as it was left on there. It was a lot of money (£15 each for the luke warm, bland burger and £1.75 each for sparkling tap water - not even in a bottle). The service was extremely poor and the food was even worse. It was just a really horrible experience which we shall definitely not be repeating! Thankfully, Unity Diner is usually open so we will definitely be going back there in future as it is a far superior experience.
