We went to Honest Burger Finsbury Park and we had a mixed experience. Antonio who served us was lovely and was apologetic about the long wait that we had to get our food. It appeared that the Uber Eat... See more

It’s been over 10 years and we’d like to think we’re now pretty good at burgers and chips. It’s been a bit of a blur, a lot of hard work, but that’s been half the fun. Good enough just isn’t good enough here. We don’t mean to brag but we’re all about top quality beef, the best potatoes and good times. Don’t just take our word for it though, we’ll let our food and people do the talking. After all, we’re Just Being Honest… From day one, we wanted to make the best British burgers on any menu, anywhere. So we spent time getting to know the best butchers in London. And we’re butchers too. We’ve opened our own butchery so we can make the burgers we’d always dreamed of. Our way. From scratch. Our beef comes from British native breed cows farmed in Great Britain & Northern Ireland. They’re grass-fed and well looked after with space to roam in the fields during spring, summer and autumn and only see a barn when it’s too cold outside during winter. We’ve also got our own butchery, making our burgers from scratch every single day.

Stone cold food with chips that were dry and rock hard, inedible. Uber Eats didn’t seem to think this was a problem and did not refund me. Absolutely disgusting. If Honest Burgers want to make it right, refund me order number #67d43 on the said date.
Paddington branch experience
Paddington branch: I only ordered a cheese burger with an extra patty and fries. It’s the worst burger I have ever had. They warn you on their website that having pink beef can be harmful to your health. So ordered my burger well done. It was burnt around the edges, then completely bright purple pink on them inside. I couldn’t eat it or the chips as they were drowning in oil. The bottom side of the bun was a as saturated in cheese oil. I’m never eating from there again.
Cardiff branch was not good
Food wasn’t great, the chips I got seemed like they were scraped from the bottom of the fryer. cleanliness was awful, floors were dirty, toilets were disgusting, toilet roll all over the floors, hand driers weren’t working, wouldn’t go back

I used to rave about these guys to my friends, best burgers, best chips … another order received of very average food prepared by an amateur. Stone cold, bun was old, burger meat seemed average and over cooked. I guess they don’t really care anymore, which is a shame, because isn’t that when things start to go wrong ?
London Bridge restaurant
We ate her on 2 occasions, the food was hot and delicious and the staff extremely courteous. I couldn't fault it at all. 2 members of the family have allergies and all taken very seriously. Would definitely recommend.
Honestly Rubbish Burger!
The overall dining experience was deeply disappointing, both in terms of food quality and service. Upon arrival, we were seated uncomfortably close to another couple, and shortly after, a waitress spilled a drink over one of them — which also splashed onto me. Despite the clear mess, not a single staff member offered me a napkin or an apology. Service throughout the meal was inattentive and disorganised; staff were unhelpful when asked about the menu, forgot to bring requested sauces (which were chargeable but this wasn’t communicated), and we had to repeatedly flag them down to correct missing items. By the time the sauces arrived, our food was nearly finished — not that it made much difference. The £15 burger was underwhelming: small, oily, and barely warm, with the addition of a dry bun and no moisture from the forgotten condiments. Despite requesting a swap from vegan cheese to cheddar, we were charged for both. To top it all off, the atmosphere was chaotic: flies buzzing around, no air conditioning on a hot day, and the doors wide open, making the environment sticky and unpleasant. A discretionary service charge was automatically added, which felt completely unjustified given the poor service and lack of attention to basic customer care.
Spitalfields branch - very average
Spitalfields branch.
The trendy use of 1980s school tables and chairs makes it impossible to eat comfortably.
Ironically, the chicken tenders, were anything but! Overfried and rock hard both in the burger and as a side.
The so-called NY deli burger was pretty average and not the taste explosion promised.
Staff were good and discounted half the cost of the the tenders, but I am surprised by how things have changed at this particular branch. I won’t be going again and unfortunately cannot recommend.

I bought a beef burger at the Covent Garden branch and had a terrible experience of the franchise.
The employees were very rude and not behaving like they were welcoming a customer. I was spoken to with high pitch and almost argued with if I didn’t undertake the approach.
Besides I ordered a medium-well done beef burger but what I had was a rare -medium cooked burger.
I guess that was my last experience with them…
Dishonest Burgers
I booked a private event following team building at Honest Burgers in Windsor for 28 guests – prepaid in good faith for both food and drinks two weeks before the event took place. Plenty of time to ensure adequate staffing and glasses It was a shambles from start to finish.
Despite arriving 45 minutes early to ensure everything was set, the tables weren’t ready. I found myself helping the waitress set up wine glasses (she then told me there wasn’t enough for our guests), and there was just one small ice bucket provided for a large group when beers and wine had not been chilled. Only 30 beers were served out of the 50 paid for, and we had to swap the remaining for soft drinks – which we had to serve ourselves from a fridge with no clean glasses.
The waitress – completely alone – had no support when the food arrived, so I ended up helping to serve our own guests. At multiple points, I had to step in to assist with drinks and food. For a paid event at a national brand, this was embarrassing and unprofessional.
I flagged the situation while we were on-site. Both the waitress and the manager apologised and admitted this was far below Honest Burgers' standards. I was told a refund for the unconsumed wine and beers would be arranged – but more than two weeks after we followed up in writing (as requested), we have received nothing but silence.
It’s not just the poor execution – it’s the complete failure to take accountability afterwards that’s left the worst taste.
If you're considering booking an event here – my advice would be don’t. Not very Honest Burgers.

Don't order from there unless you want a cold burger! Food took over an hour & delivered without an apology!
Poor!
What's worse, they're delivering via Uber Eats... equally atrocious!!
First time ordering
First time ordering. Had the vegan burger which was unreal. I'm not vegetarian however my gf is and I can honestly say it's one of the best burgers I've had in a long time.
Trash burgers
Trash burgers. They call it “Honest Beef”although it contains artificial preservatives, soybeans, and what not.
Just an other junk food chain.
A terrible assistant manager at Spitalfields branch, London
A person called Amina was serving us and she made sure it was a horrible service. She kept talking behind our backs and refused to serve us even when we repeatedly asked for her help on a problem with the burgers. The branch was Spitalfields, London.
THEY FED ME PORK. I AM MUSLIM
I visited Honest Burgers today around 13:30pm. When I entered, I was looking for the halal certification, but I didn't see one. So, when the server approached me, the first thing I asked if the meat is Halal, he said only chicken is halal, not the beef. I said okay I'll order the chicken burger. I ordered the Truffle Raclette burger for take-away. When I went back into my office excited to eat my burger. After few bites I tasted something unusual I've never tasted. I opened the burger and found something looking like a bacon I asked my colleagues who affirmed it was bacon. In shock, I packed the burger and ran to the shop in 5 mins. I spoke to the same server and asked him if that was pork in my burger. He affirmed. I asked him why didn't you tell me when I asked you if the chicken was halal? He then took me to his manager. While standing in front of the manager and server. I said why didn't you server ask me if there is pork in the burger when I asked if the meat is Halal? The manager said, I should have read the leaflet where it states there is pork. But my argument was that it is common sense that Muslims do not eat pork, when I ordered the burger, I was asked if I want rocket or lettuce, this has never happened because I'm always told if there is alcohol or pork in the food. The manager replied in a stern manner again stating you should have mentioned you don't want pork. I replied how would I mention if I don't know and how can you assume I can read English? I also stated is asking for halal considered as an allergy, because you asked me if I have allergies, and I said no so why didn't you tell me about the pork in the food? I was in shock by the cold treatment and just wanted to leave so I quickly requested a refund. The manager didn't ask me if I want a refund or suggest a good gesture but rather blaming me for eating pork? If this was a individual who wanted vegan food or was a vegetarion? This would have been a bigger issue but because I am a Muslim, and that Ramadan is sooner than later. This is how I get treated?
Worst burger out experience in my…
Worst burger out experience in my lifetime. Ordered a classic beef with coleslaw. Got the double-smash instead of the classic. Low quality beef; definitely not a home ranch, sustainable quality beef. Heavily salted within the smash process, to an obnoxiously unhealthy level. Eating this weekly would lead to disease(s). I asked for coleslaw because I did not want fries, only to have reconstituted dried fries put onto the burger. Maybe the menu mentioned that these shoestring fries (dried fries) would be on the smash burger, but I got the smash burger by mistake, so would not have seen the toppings for that burger on the menu. Complained about their mistake and was told there would be a 10-20 minute wait for a replacement. In other words, they do not acknowledge mistakes in such a way as to correct quickly in an appropriately responsive way. Had already waited 15-20 minutes for the mistake burger. Manager said he had "no control" over the wait for the replacement. So dishonesty is also now on the table as far as service is concerned. The burger was ordered to be medium; it was burnt to a dried crisp black. It was so overcooked it was devoid of any kind of juice in the patty, making the excessive salt the overwhelming taste factor. Honest? Charge a gratuity add-on (was waived in this case due to dissatisfaction). Gratuities are discretionary and meant to be a choice. Dishonest way of pricing. A few pounds was taken off my tab. For that they never get my patronage again. You got £11.82 from me for a burger that was unpleasant to eat and has given me acid indigestion. Normal price would have been about £18 (with the gratuity). Out of line completely. This is an example of a chain company completely out of touch. Dishonest burger is the more accurate characterisation.

Honest burgers’ decline in service and quality is evident with all these low ratings. I’ve emailed them regarding a complaint about an experience and never even received an answer.
Their good days are long gone.
AMAZING BIRTHDAY MEAL 🎁
Went to the Greenwich restaurant for my birthday and the service was impeccable. Our servers Dania and Vasco were such friendly yet professionals ☺️ Vasco sense of humour was just right to top off my birthday meal. Thank you so much guys 🫶🏽

Far too much mayo on the smashed burger, totally overwhelmed any taste of the burger itself. This is what I expect from a cheap dish i.e. the sauce is to hide the poor quality of the ingredients. A pity.

My husband found a LONG hair in his salad and when we told the waiter, the manager came out in disbelief and asked how that could have happened as everyone in the kitchen was wearing hair nets. He remade the meal but didn’t even offer a discount!! We paid the bill and left. My burger was undercooked as well. We definitely won’t be back.
