What awful customer service

What awful customer service. First time using the app I booked a hotel at 11:40 pm for that night. I arrived at the hotel moments later only to find that the office had been closed since 11 pm and that I would be unable to check-in.

I called HotelTonight the next morning for a refund and after over a week was told that they would be unable to give me one. Ridiculous!

Upsetting

I’ve used Hotel Tonight many times in the past and have loved it. I recently tried booking a room but after refreshing the page twice, the site said my payment wasn’t going through.
I was in need of a place quickly for that evening so I ended up booking a different hotel with Priceline. The next morning I had a charge from Hotel Tonight for the room I had tried to book, though their site told me the payment didn’t go through, hence the reason I booked another place!
I ended up having to pay for 2 different hotels for 1 night. The customer service rep from Hotel Tonight was very kind but wasn’t able to refund me because upper management said “everything went through and I should’ve known.” I won’t ever use them again. $100 isn’t the end of the world, but it’s obvious the company policy is greedy and they truly do not care about customers. There are much better options out there! Try Priceline and Expedia.

Don’t do it

Don’t do it, not worth the savings. They do not disclose important information regarding your stay. My hotel was under construction. Noise early in the morning. No warning. I didn’t stay and I couldn’t get a refund.

Anyone but Hotel's Tonight -No trust-all about

2/14/2021- I just flew in and completed a fishing trip In Louisiana. I was dropped early in the city of New Orleans before catching a later flight. With Covid and frigid weather, many places were closed. I was looking to relax for a few hours and nap before my evening flight out of Louis Armstrong International.

I found a reasonable rate for a room for a few hours. Thinking and researching, I now believe Hotel's tonight tries to avoid sharing a phone number or having any responsibility of connecting the consumer to the hotel unless they wet their beak.

Full disclosure, I completed the transaction, and then and only then did I receive an email from hotels tonight with info. I called the hotel to learn they were wide open but had staff issues and didn't have a room until 4 pm.

Armed with this knowledge, I asked to cancel.
Hotels tonight made it difficult to contact them and share the issue.
I did not set foot in the hotel, and I did not use the room.
Hotels tonight provided a basic apology and went back to the "non-cancellable and non-refundable" tag line.

Once again, there are no numbers to call the hotel on the app.
There are no Customer Service numbers.
I wrongly assumed good companies work in good faith without making it challenging to connect with customers when problems arise.
The trap is getting a sucker to book the room, then share details like phone number and confirmation number. To reiterate,
by comparison, successful companies like Lyft have ways to cancel a Lyft ride with a reasonable cancellation fee. We share the missed opportunity. This is a gift and shell game. I will never use or recommend Hotels Tonight ever. $100 sunk cost isn't gonna change either of our fortunes, but consider me a lost opportunity forever to Hotel Tonight APP and one who will share bad news so much faster than any significant experience. I just wasted hours interacting with their customer service.

NEVER USE Hotel Tonight

Hotel tonight has no idea what hotels they are recommending and their customer service is appalling, unethical and illegal. After I booked a room at a Travelodge in Spokane, Wa., a non refundable guaranteed booking, I drove to the hotel and was told there was no room. The hotel put it in writing that they were canceling the reservation- because they had no room to offer. They said they had one smelly room they couldn’t get clean and didn’t want to give it out. But the credit had to come through HotelTonight- they were the one that guaranteed the room.
But HotelTonight (Patricia on their email) said they would not refund anything. That is not legal- charging for something that is not available for purchase. Travelodge did not have the room that was supposedly booked- through HotelTonight, yet HotelTonight said they’re keeping my money and my credits that were used oYn that room.
STAY AWAY FROM HOTEL TONIGHT EVERYNIGHT!

Complete Garbage

First time making a reservation with this site. I made a reservation through the site for a hotel. Within 1 hour they determined that my new account was fraud, cancelled my account, called the hotel to remove me from reservation and top of that the hotel than sold my room to someone else so they were booked up. Now I have to wait a week to get back my funds. Plus I had to find a new hotel in the middle of the night. Don't use this site. Complete garbage. They should be ashamed of themselves for treating their customers in such a manor.

NO REFUND WITH HOTEL TONIGHT IF YOUR PLANS CHANGE

I booked a hotel for two nights with Hotel Tonight for the first time. I was unable to use the reservation because my employer decided to fly me out from a different airport 16 HOURS BEFORE CHECK IN TIME TO THE HOTEL. I contacted HOTEL TONIGHT
AND the hotel in advance of my reservation time, cancelling my reservation and asking for a refund, even a partial refund. I was informed that the reservation was not refundable. This is a very dishonest way to treat a customer.

False advertising and poor customer service

Short story:

*The rooms we booked were not as advertised
*the rooms were sub-par and dirty
*customer service gave us a very hard time, refused to refund us or change the room, and said they would charge us for the whole week regardless
*customer service treated us with disrespect
*We were charged MORE for the room
By hotel tonight than the hotel was charging for the room on their own website

Do NOT use this app.

Details:

We travel a lot. We have used this app for several years, and until recently, the app has been great. In the past we have recommended this app to others. This is not the case now. Twice this week we have rented rooms through this app that did not match the description. Last night we received a rundown room with roaches.

Tonight we rented a room for a week that was supposed to be a suit and large enough for our whole family. The room was nothing like the pictures or the text description led us to believe. More than that, we were charged MORE THAN THE HOTEL charges for the room on their website.

When we called to get the room switched it took us over an hour to try to get them to help us. In the end they refused and said they would not change the room and said if they did cancel it they would charge us for the whole weeks stay anyway as a penalty. We simply wanted the room advertised and they refused to help.

We will not be using this service again and, as people who travel a lot, we suggest you do not use this service either.

My app however sits pretty unused these days. Not because the prices weren’t competitive, they were, but it’s the fact that your reservation was looked at and as a guest were often treated almost as bottom of the barrel/necessary evil? What I mean is that I felt that there were the regular guests rooms and the HotelTonight rooms, they even tried to downgrade me at my last stay to a bunk bed room !? I had to clarify my reservation was for an actual bed room, it was kinda humiliating. I had services denied to me, yes they were at the discretion of the hotel such as late checkout, but they were denied based upon “my reservation type”... was told this by a front desk person. So they may not know what you pay however they’ll try and find out by straight up asking you, but they do know your “hotels tonight” room is “going to suck” words expressed to me by staff at a very expensive Nob Hill historic hotel. My option ? Pay $70 more for a better room ..... ?!?
I feel this hasn’t been always the case. At the beginning hotels tonight offered pretty nice accommodations and I was checked into some really nice rooms, upgraded to suites at times ! However suites have soured and what you get now, no joke is a room literally 15 ft from the front desk, I kid you not, 1st floor window facing a light well, at a somewhat trendy music hotel. I politely asked for a new room as I was nit comfortable there. These extremes seemed to be more and more the usual. So this is why my app sits pretty unused today. No magic to it, you get what you pay for and sometimes even less ?

Do not use this third party. I recently had to check out due to an ant infestation in my hotel room, Hotel Tonight refused to refund me the 4 night remaining.

Hotel Tonight App is a scam

Hotel Tonight App is a scam. I’ve tried using it three times. Each time I’m standing in lobby filling it out on my phone and each time it says hotel is full. Which is untrue. Each hotel had rooms. Will never use again! It would redirect me to more expensive hotels.

I am a New Yorker and used HotelTonight…

I am a New Yorker and used HotelTonight to book Mr C hotel in the Seaport recently. This was NOT a luxury hotel as described. Very pricey for what you get! Rooms were very small, minimal to no view, decor is dated and hallways felt with much needed new carpeting. I appreciate they are not getting same bookings with covid but for a clean and efficient room I could have stayed at the Hilton in Tribeca for a fraction of the price. Excellent location in the Seaport however and excellent staff ! Very cordial and welcoming. Morning coffee I ordered was good too

We use this app quite a bit

We use this app quite a bit, especially in South Beach where there are a ton of locally owned properties. However, in my experience, the rooms you end up with are lowest of the low. Several times we’ve been given terrible rooms when there is nearly an empty hotel. I’m not expecting upgrades, but a decent room w/ decent location is expected.

Didn't get the type of room we paid EXTRA for!

First time using this app thinking it was a good idea for a weekend getaway, so I booked our hotel, we arrived the next day and checked in expecting the 1 bed kind suite which we PAID EXTRA for, but no... The hotel said hotel tonight reserved us a room with 2 Queen beds! NOT what we paid extra for! My husband and I both have bad backs and cannot sleep together comfortably in a Queen bed so for our relaxing sweet getaway our first night... We had to sleep in SEPERATE beds!! Luckily the hotel itself fixed the error without charging us extra. Thanks for nothing hotel tonight.

No refunds given ($500+) in my case

No refunds given ($500+) in my case. Covid caused us to cancel our trip because cities closed down, the airport restricted travel, but the hotel hadn’t closed yet. Out of money dealing with this site. Would only book if I’m standing in front of the hotel before check in.
