Liked the fact voucher for different hotel use but felt that the online voucher should have had choices attached. Voucher was not very nice to give as a Christmas present.

Ordered £100 worth of vouchers on Friday, 21st December & although the transaction was confirmed, Hotel Voucher Shop failed to e-mail me the voucher. When I posted an enquiry on their website, I was advised that the office was closed until 2nd January; this is unacceptable for a wholly online business.In the event, I wasn't sent the voucher until 8th January! Apalling.

Giving a voucher can create a frustrating and disappointing presant
I suspect that the reviewers giving 'excellent' are the purchasers of the hotel vouchers, who will be unaware of the frustration of the receivers when trying to redeem the vouchers. There are very few hotels in Britain accepting these vouchers and most of them are in cities and quite expensive, so finding where they have hotels is like 'finding a needle in a haystack'. I contacted them by Email but got standard replies which ignored my specific queries. We didn't want to travel too far so asked what there was within 100 miles of Stamford, where we live. Their reply just said they had no hotel in Stamford. Not wanting Hotel Voucher Shop to pocket the money paid by my relatives, I persevered and, after sending 30 Emails to HVS, I've made a booking in a Lincoln Hotel.

Furthermore, we do advise that we do have a price match guarantee if on occasion we are found to be more expensive that the hotel directly.

e-Voucher Not Received!
Placed an order on the 20th Dec for an e-voucher, but still not received it. Done the usual checks on 'Junk'/'Spam' but nothing has been received. Sent two emails to their help desk and had no response. Used their live chat system, which simply returns that they are unavailable despite being in working hours. As i'm unable to contact any other way i've instructed by bank to issue a charge back.

Made a booking for 31st Dec for 1 night. Took £111.15 although the hotel said that they would do the same for £80.00. Hotel confirmed that they had not even heard of Hotelvouchershop and that no booking had been taken. Sent 2 emails no reply as no one in the office until 2nd Jan. I have a feeling that I will get the same service when I ask for the refund.
Thanks Hotelvouchershop for messing up our new year celebration.
Hotelvouchershop, did give me a refund on my voucher but i still had NY eve ruined.

Excellent first purchase, second purchase fail...
I have now made two purchases, the first for a £200 voucher, which was all perfect, voucher received within a couple of days of order. Simple and efficient.
My second purchase didn't go quite so well. There was an offer of 10% off which I was happy to use, I wanted to buy a voucher for £100 originally, but taking advantage of the offer, decided to buy £110 voucher, costing £99. The confirmation page I printed and the email were all correct. BUT when the voucher arrived it says its for £100 not £110. I have sent an email but as yet not heard anything as I know you are closed over Christmas. However as this was a Xmas present, I had to give it anyway. I know await a response to see how this issue will be received

Took money - but no booking. AVOID
Got a voucher to use and booked via the website - paid extra to cover the full cost of the room. Turned up at the hotel with the confirmation (Crowne Plaza) to find out no booking. The hotel was amazing and they managed to get us another room but we had to pay for it ourselves. They tried calling the company as did we - always through to answerphone. Hotel also said never heard of them and there should be 24hr hotel support line so was suspicious. Disgraceful service taking money then not delivering and uncontactable.
