I sent a complaint to Hotter Shoes…
I sent a complaint to Hotter Shoes regarding a pair which I only wore once or twice. They were kept in the wardrobe in a shoe box. When I went to wear them today I discovered the soles have disintegrated to such an extent they were leaving debris o the floor! The shoes were bought some years ago but their reply was that they are no longer under guarantee so offered no help whatsoever, I just read another review highlighting the very same issue I experienced. This is the last time I will buy Hotter Shoes despite the fact I find them very comfortable. I did not expect the shoes for just disintegrate despite the fact they haven't even been worn!
Despite buying extra wide
Despite buying extra wide, their trainers (Chase II) were so narrow I think they'd be narrower than an average non-wide fit. Fine if you're thin footed but anything else and you're not going to find it here. By the way, I wear a wide in M&S and they are fine, just as a comparison. I wasn't very impressed with customer services. they just apologised and said I'd still have to pay to return them - so that's over £7 on postage for a pair of shoes that are essentially not as sold and not fit for purpose. They did tell me that their wide fits are the same on the base as non-wide fitting shoes, but that they are deeper, to allow for your foot to spread out above the base...not for me...not again. Second time I've tried them and same before. Unimpressed.
Shoes Unfit for wear Hotter
Purchased shoes online with Hotter but on arrival found that the shoes were scuffed and unfit for purpose. Postage an incredible £4.50 and £2.95 to return so decided to do return via a Hotter Shop, very accommodating but informed me that although the shoes were faulty I would have to ring the Customers Services to get the postage back. I rang on the same day as returned Wednesday 11th June and was assured I would receive the £4.50 and that the returns as yet had not come up on the system. I have had the monies paid for the shoes returned but not the postage. As some previous customers reviews suggest when I follow this up I really felt that the person I spoke to was not apologetic and when I rang today asking why I had still not received it I felt that the tone of the response was again unsupportive. Needless to say I am very disappointed all around both with the state of the shoes purchased and the customer online service hence I will not be purchasing in the future.
Have Hotter stopped fitting soles that…
Have Hotter stopped fitting soles that disintegrate? I have stopped buying them after this happened several times. They seem to go hard, crack and fall apart. As a previous reviewer stated the shoe repairer has said it is a common fault and due to unsuitable material being used for soles. I previously contacted Hotter but they didn’t want to know.
Good Bye Hotter, your postage costs are a laugh!
I have bought hotter shoes for as long as I can remember but no more!
Not only have they changed the fit and sizing, but the postage charges for both the initial delivery and returns is truly excessive. £4.50 to deliver the item, and a whopping £7.55 taken from my refund for the return postage. £12.05 postage in total - definately unimpressed. Goodbye Hotter!
I may be cynical, but my guess is that they make more out of the postage charges than the shoes!

I was particularly impressed by the lady who answered the telephone and who dealt with my order. She spoke clearly and slowly enough that I did not have to ask her to repeat anything. Full marks to her, she is an asset to your company.
The delivery, and information regarding delivery also worked well.
Sizing is terrible and inconsistent.
Sizing is terrible and inconsistent.
When you receive the shoes which are the wrong size, you have to pay for the pleasure of returning them!
Whoever is responsible for checking the sizing of the shoes is incompetent and must be replaced.
Poor customer service
Paid for next day delivery sent on 3/4 working days .Rang customer services very poor response and poor attitude not really interested

Shoes are great and the post office delivered on time - thank you.
Total perfection
Bought a pair of walking boots. Total heaven! From the first step they were just perfection. The half sizes are brilliant as I like a bit bigger than my size 5 for walking so I can use thicker socks but very often a 6 is too big. I can thoroughly recommend.
Sold Personal Info
Catalogue arrived in mail - I have never signed up for this store & haven’t agreed to marketing communications. Have they bought personal details from somewhere?
Now economising on strap length!!
I have been buying womens Hotter shoes for my wife for many years. She always buy an extra wide fit with velcro strap fastening. However, recently Hotter have reduced the strap length from 6" to 5". This means that she cannot rely on the strap to stay fastened as it barely reaches across.
She has complained to both the Hotter outlet and factory but can never get a satisfactory explanation as to why they have decided to shorten the strap on an extra wide fitting shoe . It defeats the purpose of having a wide fitting and seems illogical to me. If it's just to save them money then they are ultimately losing out as she will not be buying.
Shoes returned and no refund as of yet
Ordered shoes for £89. I loved the shoes apart from the straps being different lengths on each shoe. I tried to contact hotter but got no reply. I used the return label to return the shoes. They have received them but I’ve now been waiting over 14 days and still not received my refund.
I would have been happy to just change the shoes for a pair with correct straps but now they have lost a customer.
Edit: 9/6/25 after another email quoting consumer rights I have finally received my refund.

Chase 11 Trainers
I visited the Barlborough store on Friday and the lady Karen ordered my rose pink chase 11 trainers which arrived within 24 hours to my door. This was brilliant service. Rachel the manageress is always very efficient. Today my husband visited the shop on his own and was very disappointed with the service. The lady assistant started to serve him but then left him to talk to another customer who had just entered the shop. The conversation was focused on water repellent spray and nubuck cleaner which lasted over ten minutes. My husband ended up walking out because she had neglected serving him so you lost a sale of mens shoes in favour of upselling cleaning products. We will return when Rachel has returned from her holiday.
Poor service resulting in a lost sale
Hi. I've just been in Hotter's Chesterfield with the intention of buy a pair of Thor 11 GTX walking shoes and walked out because both members of staff were found sleeping on the job.
Should I have been a mystery shopper both members of staff would have been rated a zero.
Come back Rachel all is forgiven ! 🫣
I bought lorenzo sandals
I bought lorenzo sandals . the front straps were so short they wouldn't fasten .The shop told me they were standard and not defective. I took them to a cobbler who lengthened them .Now I can wear them, they make a noise like breaking wind at every step, very embarrassing. I contacted hotter customer services who replied Your comments have been passed on for future reference
Mist GTX Extra Wide - Noooo, soles way too narrow
Why oh why don’t they realise that wider feet need wider soles and not just a bit of extra material in the upper?
Just bought some Mist GTX extra wide but have had to return them. Why, because the sole of the shoe is way too narrow, seriously narrow, which means the foot spills over the edges and has no support on the outer part of the foot.
There is extra width of fabric on the upper so they aren’t too tight and there’s also plenty of depth to cater for a high instep. I have a very wide foot with the extra problem of a high instep and my instep starts almost immediately after my toes, so getting shoes wide and deep enough is problematic. So these shoes could be perfect if they had made the actual soles wider. But, sadly they haven’t and they are actually narrower than a lot of shoes. So, just be aware before you order.
