Firstly, HSBC, do everyone a favor and remove the world premier and perhaps use budget or worst class banking which would seem more appropriate. So let me get this straight, u suspended my account without any prior notification or a courtesy call? Why? Because u alleged that I didn’t update my information? What info? My income and company I work for? Funny thing, my monthly salary from my employer has been credited to my HSBC account since the day I opened my account. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure this out. But, this shouldn’t be surprising coming from a self proclaimed and misguided “premier” banking consultant. Oxymoron at its finest. Keep it up. 👏👏👏

They tend to prioritise the merchant and customer service is not in their vocabulary. I would avoid this like the plague and open an account with another bank. Recommend to rather avoid. They do not take ownership of transactions missed by them or not processed. It seems to be one big holiday for staff yet banking costs are extreme.
They expect 3-7 days over Christmas to clear salary payments made on the 18th of the month, from today 22 December, spoiling my Christmas break- no care and no effort to resolve. Appalling!
Being rejected to open an account
I booked a reservation and went there to open a bank account, but was rejected simply because i hold my MM2H deposit at another bank.
Crypto is fixing this, and Defi will take down these old banks like HSBC.

I’m happy with the service I get
Let me firstly say that I’m somewhat shocked and dismayed by the large number of one star reviews here. From my point of view, I’ve always received decent service from HSBC Malaysia and I have been with them for over 10 years now. Yes, my relationship manager might change extremely regularly which I’m not happy with, but other than that, everything works. Staff are always friendly and courteous and do what they say they will. The online service allows me to do everything I want to and I rarely need to contact anyone within the bank. So all is good for me.
Credit Card Cancellation
Called since mid July, and they mentioned they need to end the installment even though i have paid off the remaining. They expect customer to check if their job is done instead of informing customer the job is done. If you want to save trouble, dont choose this bank. Worse bank service ever!!! If there is a zero for this rating, i'd give that.
HSBC Sitting duck on my 5 Month old release letter request
I took a housing loan from HSBC bank , on March 2025 I settle the loan and request to get the release letter . It has already 5 Ugly Fish Month they has yet to sign the release letter. Not until my Wife walk into the 30th floor to Insist of getting the letter on the same day. The person whom has been sitting on this document should be put on the chopping board .

I was scammed out of thousands of ringgit, and it took me over a year to recover just 70% of the stolen amount. The handling of my case by HSBC and its managers was deeply disappointing and unacceptable. Despite numerous complaints and follow-ups, the lack of urgency, empathy, and accountability from the team made the entire experience extremely stressful and frustrating.
However, I want to sincerely thank Cynthia, the only manager who truly stepped up. She took the time to understand my situation, respected my rights as a customer, and showed genuine care and professionalism throughout the process. Her dedication made a real difference, and I believe she absolutely deserves a promotion for her outstanding service.
Thanks to Cynthia, my case is now closed. Starting today, I will reactivate my HSBC card after more than a year of not using it due to this incident. I hope HSBC takes this feedback seriously and ensures that more of its staff follow Cynthia’s example in handling customer issues with empathy and efficiency.
Bad customer service
I called the customer service from overseas to resolve my transfer, was put on hold and got disconnected. Called again the 2nd time, I was put on hold as they would pass to the agent and after 10 mins got disconnected again. Not sure, purposely disconnected or not. No return call. Waste phone bills (as the call was from overseas) and time. Never found these treatments with other banks.

This bank comprises the customer information to scammers. I have been victim of scam for second time first it happened on my credit card and now it happened from my debit card. And both time the transaction was done overseas. This time I have lodged a police complain with Malaysia police. I hope HSBC bank representative reads this and realise how bad is your bank and the reputation is negative.
Closing all account with HSBC
Been with HSBC since 2011, but it is peak when I am still being charged ridiculous amount of finance charges (even though I have made full payment of the CC). Requested for a full calculation of the finance charges, never got it. Customer service only available during working hours, otherwise you are stuck with a chatbot who can not help much.
Enough is enough, am closing all accounts on HSBC.

NO SUPPORT AT ALL
I have been calling +6038321 5400 from outside Malaysia. Today, after voice verification, I was informed by the IRS that I am not an Amanah customer and was advised to call 1313. The line then cut off. Since I can't dial 1313, I tried using AVA, but it kept circulating the same Q&A without any resolution. There is no way to speak to a human.
I then logged into my PC to chat with a representative. I explained that the app on my new phone indicated my device limit was reached and I needed help to remove the app from older devices. The representative told me that this could only be done via a phone call. I explained my difficulty in calling 1313 and asked if someone could call me to resolve this issue. She agreed but after a long wait, informed me that she couldn't make the call but would raise a request to remove my older device. She asked me to contact them again in 3 working days to check the approval...when i asked for ticket number, she told me there is no ticket reference...then she suddenly disappeared...I am beyond angry LOL
I guess it's time to move on from HSBC...I have terminated all my credit card because of the bad support system, I have to stop bank account now.

Arif (agent that picked up my call on 2/3/25, 915pm) was super helpful, patient, trying his best to help me troubleshoot . He called me back after my line break off and assisted me from the start until end (waited me to download apps, retrieve my Personal info).

Wow! I thought it was just me - but with 90% of the reviews here being one star, apparently EVERYBODY gets bad customer service from this Bank. Even other high net-worth (so-called) Premier customers such as me.
It starts with their app - which is poor & written by third-rate (fourth-rate?) programmers who have zero concept of what users need in the real world. And which will block your access without notice - on a whim because its over-the-top security protocol suddenly thinks your device has become some sort of risk. (Whilst none of my world class Banks think this?)
And continues with (so-called) Premier managers who ignore your emails.
Sadly there's little choice of banks in Malaysia
