Patchy, inconsistent service plus patience
Patchy, Product department like loans etc have fast and efficient service, HSBC Premier managers are generally slow, inefficient and must be closely managed for customer service. Being a Jade customer and premier customer in 4 countries with HSBC, Jersey and Malaysia tops the worst! Go to other banks..... think global, act invisible as HSBC would say
Two thumbs up
My issue and inquiry : reset password for online banking. Attended by customer service person - Calvin Lim. A job well executed as a front liner. Even the issue is unable to be resolved via the phone but Calvin has delivered his best efforts to resolve. He has walked an extra mile. For that, I think his efforts should be mentioned on Trustpilot. Ive resolved my issue at the local branch as advised. Im not sure of if any other HSBC customers have the same frustration as I, for just to reset the online banking password. Just hope the procedure may be minimised for the future development or consideration. Again thank you, Calvin for your service.
Regards,
David W
Horrible experience renewing my debit…
Horrible experience renewing my debit card, they insist on you going home to call in for activation and when you do it, the system doesn't recognise. Second trip getting a replacement card.
What a horrible horrible stupid system, why not just activate the card when the customer is physically present at the branch? Shameful for an international bank.
Welcome to the WORST bank ever
I was a premier account holder for 2 years (having 2 accounts one in Malaysia and one in Australia). The bank has consistently provided me with misrepresentation of information, lack of service, and their incompetence has costed me accessibility to my account for 4 months during MCO. Imagine having no income during MCO and the bank can simply not do their jobs to allow you accessibility. They misrepresented information, provided unfair treatment to its customers, and a my RM is a potato reincarnated. Imagine an RM that tells you as a distressed and disgruntled customers the wrong information making you even more frustrated. Also the online system is terrible. You will lose money with this bank simply out of their errors. Thanks HSBC for being the world's WORST local bank. Maybank is 100x better. Also, prepare for your account to get hacked as both my accounts got hacked twice over the span of 2 years. Avoid it like a coughing person during Covid. Giving your money to this bank is worse than keeping cash under your drawer. Also, they are definitely in violation of Bank Negara policies. I am reporting them to both BNM and OFS, I hope they get a hefty fine. Doubt they will learn their lesson but maybe this will bring press to how bad they are so other customers can avoid giving them their money.
Side note: they used to have Google reviews enabled (approximately 2018) for their bank branches but it was removed in around 2019 possibly to low rating scores. If this doesn't spell trouble, I don't know what else does. My entire family had their accounts but we all cancelled. I was the last to cancel, feel so stupid for giving them chances cause they will use and abuse customers. I get better services and security from non-premier accounts (from other banks of course).
Fantastic service
Fantastic service, great experience. Premium customer service is sometimes overloaded with requests via telephone but the availability of my advisor via whatsapp almost 24/7 is estonishing.
