I stayed at the Scottsdale AZ location for a conference. It started out bad--room wasn't ready, and they seemed not to have the preferences I had made. I was essentially blackmailed into upgradi... See more

Park hyatt new york dishonest staff and misleading world of hyatt program
Be careful of the false and misleading benefits of world of hyatt program. I am at the highest tier “globalist” , yet I experienced the worst and rudest attitude from their guest support agents specifically a lady called Judy D (if thats her real name as she claims). Also as per World of Hyatt program rules if you are booked in a standard suite then you are not eligible for an upgrade even if the next category of suites is available. Thats what I experienced and I received an official email from front desk manager Benjamin Nikolai offering a downgrade to a standard room since they offered me a suite (my original booking) on the lowest floor despite requesting two weeks in advance for a high floor (thats my usual preference in this hotel since 2017 every year).
I had to raise a complaint on Park Hyatt New York operations director David Sherman who lied about a suite upgrade back in 2019 claiming it was to junior suite (this hotel never had or have junior suite category) and the front desk manager Benjamin Nikolai and this Judy D refused to accept the complaint and refused to compensate despite the dishonesty from Sherman and the rude attitude from Nikolai. In addition to the slow service and non recognition of my globalist status.
I recommend not staying with any Hyatt Property due to the bad attitude from their guest relations support.
The worst front desk manager and the hotel.
The worst staff and hotel that I have ever been. Our travel agent booked a room, which nowhere was specified that this room was for disabled people. I really respect people with disabilities, but cannot live in the room that specifically designed for such needs. It breakers my mental health due to my personal reasons. I asked the front desk employee to help me and to change the room. The answer, we don’t have other free rooms. But suddenly, when I started to argue with her, she found the room. Worsen then that I have now. Nowhere on their website, on Booking, on Google, nowhere I didn’t find information that the booked room is for people with disabilities. They try to protect themselves just because they have one photo that doesn’t reflect at least 40% of bathroom. By their logic, my travel manager and I should understand what kind of room it is, just based on this half of photo.
Fabulous stay at the Hyatt Lehi/Salt…
Fabulous stay at the Hyatt Lehi/Salt Lake. The facility is lovely, the rooms quiet, the temperature easy to control, and the access is excellent. I spent three days at the Hyatt for a conference. The food provided for the conference was excellent. The meeting facilities were great. The only thing that wasn't perfect was passworded access to the internet. The front des, didn't know the updated password, and my hotspot wasn't working, so I couldn't do some things I needed. Other than that, it was a great stay.
Front desk staff unprepared, poor trained but rude
We have visited this property for few years since 2019. We have experienced some deterioration of the quality of products, value for money, but in our last visit December 2023 our experience with the service at the front desk was below ground.
Miguel Bermudez FOH mgr is not up to his position with poor body language and aptitude towards guests. His team at the front desk have the same line of approach towards guests. They were laughing at my family due to some internal and new policies we were not been informed before our arrival to the hotel. All due to the inspection they have months before by the authorities relating to the breaches of the guidance related to the human trafficking and underage prostitution policies in Cartagena.
The poor handling of this matter at check-in by the front desk staff was very poor. Mr Bermudez did make things worse due to his lack of confidence with matter and the lack of information and training to the front desk staff.
This matter could be dealt in a better manner if Mr. Bermudez and his team were trained and informed professionally.
We asked to talk to the manager, the staff was avoiding at all times the information required for the General Manger which was in his holidays.
The amount of unhappy arriving or leaving guests we witnessed from the Hyatt Cartagena was a surprise. We even had an opportunity to talk to a family which have the same type of poor service at a check-in.
There is not leadership in this Hyatt Hotel which have a great problem as we recently have seen in reports.
It was last time for us in the Hyatt Regency Cartagena de Indias. We will still visiting Cartagena for business or pleasure, but definitely we will avoid to visit this hotel, we will not recommend it to business partners, friends or family.
Hyatt Regency Cartagena de Indias is following the same line as one of the branded hotel down the street in the same area of Boca Grande, this very well hotel has the same problem for years, when the started to tackle the issues, it was too late as the problems spread without control, they still confronting the problem now after several years of trying. Very costly!
To Mr Miguel Bermudez or Mr Cleyder Reales, closing the hot water in our room 2222 in the last night was not good idea..it has made things worse.

The worst stays ever
The worst stays ever. Overcharged and erroneous bills, agents rude and threatening you.
Front desk person screwed up our…
Front desk person screwed up our reservation for 2 nights. After one night, when we were out shopping all of our belongings were packed up, our dress clothes thrown in a garbage bag. No one even called us. When we got back to the room we were locked out and without a room.
Front desk person at Plymouth Hyatt was very rude, inconsiderate, and disrespectful to us and walked away from us. He even refused to give us his name.
We will never again stay at a Hyatt hotel.
Secrets Cozumel has Bed Bugs, Stay Away!
We stayed at Secrets Cozumel resort for a week in December which was a major disappointment to say the least.
Our first room had No hot water, the fridge didn't work. They changed the fridge. They said they had no other rooms and we would have to wait till one was available. Day 3 - They made us check out of the room early so they could clean it and stick the next unsuspecting guest (victim) in it. We could only sit around the resort and wait for them to make right with this situation the ENTIRE day. We had no room, no clothes - everything was sitting in the lobby in our luggage. Room #2 - finally, late afternoon... but only scalding or freezing water... nothing in-between. Room #3 - they "upgraded" us to "preferred," BUT - we had no choice but to sign a form releasing them of any negligence and that the preferred room was our compensation for their negligence. We had no choice at that point and were basically forced to sign the papers so that we could finally get a room and take a shower.
All of the rooms were in need of deep cleaning. The second room they moved us to appeared to have black mold in it.
Day 5 - BED BUGS!!!!! I woke up with bed bug bites all over my body. We reported it. They offered to spray the room - or move us to Room #4.... no thanks. We only had one more night and couldn't wait to get out of this place. A horrible ending to a horrible vacation.
When we arrived at home I contacted Hyatt and let them know about our experience and that this hotel had Bed Bugs. They emailed me a case# and said someone would be contacting me. Two weeks later still no response from Hyatt.
Do not stay at Hyatt hotels under point…
Do not stay at Hyatt hotels under point system. I am the highest tier with 600K points, all from business stays. I have attempted to stay at five locations throughout the country the past year on points, and each Hyatt property does not allow for the points. They advertise points allowed, and then do not allow points when attempting to book. The Hyatt points program is a fraud.
Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun Resort
We were at the Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun during the
month of of November. During this time we found
the lawns were well manicured, the pools were
clean and the staff were friendly. Entertainment in
the evening was good ,as was the food. The beach
though was terrible. There is not much beach to
lounge at. The sand was not very clean. If you like
to lounge at the pools, this would be a good place
for you. I think though that usually people want
value for their money so I do not think that you
would get value for your money here. Some of the
pictures do not show exactly what you are getting.
Our son came with us to the resort so we asked to
be at least on the same floor but for some reason
they could accommodate us.
During our stay we found a very large cockroach in
our room. As everyone knows, where there is one
cockroach, there are many more. We complained
to the front desk and they moved us to another
room so they could fumigate. I would not think that
the insecticide that was used would be very good
for small children or even adults for that matter. We
felt quite bad for the unsuspecting people in the
adjoining rooms where they had to fumigate . I
read that these sort of insecticides can cause
health problems later.
We asked to be moved to another building
because the insecticide fumes can be carried in to
the adjoining rooms. We are quite worried about
the cockroaches getting into our luggage, clothes
and even having them brought back to our home
after the vacation. We actually spent quite a bit of
time looking through all our belongings instead of
relaxing at the resort .
We were put into another room and we found the
couch was missing from the room and there was a
light fixture dangling above the shower with live
wires. We called and they came immediately to fix
the situation. Who knows what could have
happened if we did not notice and started
showering.
We mentioned to one of the staff about the
cockroach situation and they said that we would
expect this since this resort was built on jungle
land.
Later when we got home, we wrote the Hyatt and
the representative at the resort said that
unfortunately ,it is part of the natural fauna . I have
been to Mexico many times and I have never
encountered cockroaches in my room. Possibly
then it is true as the staff member it said, the resort
is built on land where there are cockroaches and
other rodents.
Later on after we had talked to one representative,
another representative emailed and said that they
wanted to make a phone appointment so we could
discuss the issues that we had there. We made the
appointment and the time they were to call us
but we did not receive a call at all. We’re quite
annoyed because we thought that maybe they just
sent a generic email to us and hope that nobody
would respond. And we did email them again to ask why we did not get a phone call. Still no response.
We had also noticed in one of the restaurant
bathrooms and in one of the hallways of another
restaurant there were metal boxes that were either
mice/rodent traps or sonic boxes for mice or
rodents.
If you just scratch the surface, this resort looks
pretty good to book at . After looking at the
positives and negatives of this resort, I would not
recommend this resort because the negatives far
outweigh the positives
Four excellent stays
I’ve stayed all over the world with Hyatt and all have been excellent problem free. There was one incident at Milan but that was solved satisfactorily.
Great rooms and bathrooms here in…
Great rooms and bathrooms here in Chicago's loop. Good value! My only gripe is that the breakfast is poor. They could do better. Excellent staff!
Dreams Calvia Mallorca Premium upgrade worth the extra
Dreams Calvia Mallorca, Great service, friendly staff, service upgrades, Premium (black band) well worth the extra cost. Lovely room with a great view.Good location but a steep staircase up to hotel from the beach front might not suit everyone. Taxi service outside though.
On the downside the evening entertainment was spoiled by the lack of a stage or platform, some good performances had to cope with rampaging children amongst them while parents were not asked to exercise control . Unusual evening meal arrangements but gave clients lots of options ie street food , Japanese (highly recommended) and the usual buffet of course
Scam at Hyatt Hotel Koln
We would like to warn other guests who stay here for the staff members of this hotel. Unfortunately some staff members feel the need to steal deposit money from customers (they ask for a deposit but they don't give you a receipt nor do they put it in the system). When you try to get your deposit back it becomes impossible. We talked to the accountant, a gentleman who is extremely rude and angry. He denied the whole thing and just said they never take deposits!! He refused to watch the security footage of the payment.
He promised to call us back but never did. So we tried to call the hotel. But as soon as the people from the reception recognised our voice they hung up on us!! This happened about 9 times and eventually we gave up. We called back the next day, and the guy from the reception who picked up simply told us: "We spoke to our colleague and she denies the allegations. So you have two options, you can either trust me, or I have to put you through to the manager." So we told him to connect us to the manager.
We discussed the matter with her, and also urged her to just watch the security footage, since it will show that we paid the deposit. But also she refused vehemently to look at the footage.
She called the next day and told us she talked to the receptionist, and she denied she had taken our money and since there was no receipt or excess money in the cash drawer we never maid the payment and hence she could not give us back our deposit.
Again we asked her to watch the security footage. She eventually said she would do that. She called us back and told us she couldn't see that we paid the deposit money.
It wasn't about the money at this point anymore, but about the fact that we were being called liars and they were stealing from customers and everyone was covering it up. We told her we would put a lawyer on this case and go to the police in order to get the security footage of the payment.
She suddenly told us she would watch the footage again but that the "IT-guy" was on holiday for a week so we would hear back from her in a week.
I'm not sure why she would need the IT-guy to look at the footage "again" since she was so adamant about the fact that she had watched it carefully and she could not see we made a payment for the deposit.
However, only a few hours later she called us back and told us she wanted to give us back our deposit money!
No manager in their right mind would view security footage which clearly shows that NO deposit has been made, and STILL decide to "refund" the amount.
All of a sudden, as we told them our plans of getting a law firm and the police involved, we were called back and refunded the money within 3 hours!
The most bizar thing is we wanted to check in at The Wellem by Hyatt a few days later, and there was a lady who was extremely upset and was pretty much yelling at the reception (the whole team including the security staff was gathered there) that someone from the reception had signed off her package (the person who had delivered the package had told her it was signed off at the reception) and they all denied this had happened. And also she was telling them they should watch the security footage, and they were telling her that no one from the reception had signed it off and there was nothing to see on the security footage.
Obviously after seeing this whole scene we decided not to stay there, since it seems like the Hyatt has an overall lying and stealing staff members problem.
We tried to highlight this matter to the head office (legal department) in Chicago. We sent them a letter and an email explaining the whole ordeal in detail to make sure other guests are protected and the staff members who are in on this scam get fired. We called them several times and asked them if they could look into this matter. We never got any response back from them so I guess the safety of their customers is of no regard to them.
No reaction to my emails since weeks
No reaction to my emails since weeks. I need a correction on my invoice. I asked two times via email but I got no answer at all yet.
Currently staying at Dreams Corfu
Currently staying at Dreams Corfu. Resort is outstanding, beach excellent, room excellent, it's cleaned every morning and fridge is restocked. Would recommend getting a sea view as our "Garden" Bunglow entrance door opens to the hotel car park where deliveries are received. Food; the "A la Carte" Greek and Steak restaurants are very dissapoiting. We walked out of the Greek restaurant after the main course as we were forgotten, waiting for service that never came, the Steak restaurant served us steaks, and that was it, 2 plates of Steak with 3 small vegetables, We tried to attract waitress attention, but only after our steaks were cold did a waitress come by to ask if we needed more wine. I then asked if we could have some chips (fries), by then my wife didn't want to eat cold steak and we left. The hotel really need to educate their restaurant staff on service as this is letting an excellent holiday destination down. Defo do Spiros's Boat trip to Old Corfu Town from beach as he is entertaining and Old Corfu Town is awesome, no pressure from shop sales people, lovely places to eat/drink. Book directly with Spiros on the beach and not hotel. Definately bring mosque repellant, we got biten bad on the first 2 nights, lesson learnt. We would come back for the beach, Spiros, drinks and relaxed atmosphere, food is average but food service at A la Carte restaurants alot of needs work. Tried leaving feedback on Dreams App but it isn't available, have spoken directly to hotel reception.
Posh frock and no draws
Alua Suites, Corralejo, Fuerteventura.
There are many positives about the Alua Suites, but a few negative.
The staff were very professional although somewhat scarce at times. Check-in was very good but a little disappointed when seeing the view from the balcony. Although we had booked a view of the garden or pool, we received a view of the kitchen extraction system. When you're working in the extraction field, you don't want a busmans holiday. My wife spends a lot of time on a balcony when we're away, so this wasn't great. We went back to reception and as we'd arrived late in the evening, the only person available was the night receptionist. He advised us he would tell the morning staff and suggested we return at 10am.
When we returned to reception at 10am, the receptionist advised she'd received a full report from the night person and asked for us to return at 12:30, when she would be able to show us a couple of alternative rooms. This we did and were provided with an excellent room overlooking a pool. We were extremely pleased with the service provided.
The location of the Suites is very good. Close to town to walk in, but far enough away to avoid any potential rowdiness.
I would score the food at the hotel as 3 out of 5. On occasions it wasn't hot. Queuing was also an issue. We seemed to be queuing for items not wanted, to enable you to get to the better options. You also chose your vegetables before you got to know what your main course was going to be. I suggest they queue from the other side of the dining room so you can choose your main course first.
The rooms were very clean, but the beds were dated and very hard. Not just us saying this, but other guests also. The maids were very friendly and good at their jobs. For a fully inclusive stay, we would have expected water to be provided in the room. Having to buy from the local supermarket, or filling bottles in one of the restaurants is not great. It's the little things that make the difference.
Quite rightly, around the pool, plastic cups are provided for drinks. However I expect to have a glass when dining, not a plastic cup. They do however need to add or replace a lot more umbrellas. Those installed are very dated and don't work efficiently. Have to hold them up with strategically placed ice cream spoons.
The entertainment provide was ok.
It was a relaxing stay, and I would be happy to recommend Alua Suites.
Don't stay here!
Unfortunately, the most recent stay was a horrible experience. The front entrance of the hotel was dirty. Our room was ok to say the least, you can definitely tell how poorly it has been kept. The bathroom ceiling had unknown stains, same with the room walls. The duvet had several stains but what the worst part was in the morning of our check out there was a cockroach crawling on the walls, we panicked and my husband jumped into action by grabbing it with a paper napkin and placing it in the bathroom trashcan. Upon our checkout, we let the front desk know, who promptly said we cannot give you a refund without inspecting the room, never did I once asked for a refund, all we wanted was to get out of that place as fast as we could but anyways they proceeded to tell me that they were going to inspect the room and give me a call. Guess what, the miraculous came back with nothing? And suggested we probably brought it with us? Really? We have a picture of the it but I guess we needed to cockroach to stay in place, not move so that they could validate this is what it was. But its obviously that they will not admit to that but I'll make sure to never book here and will hopefully you will not either.
The Hyatt Centric Las Olas
The Hyatt Centric Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale
Unfortunately wife and I only stayed overnight here for an early flight back to Maryland. This is one of the cleanest, modern, snazzy upscale hotels we have ever stayed at. We were on an 8-day cruise and set up our flight for the next day. we arrived at the Hyatt, early and were greeted by Charise at the front desk who took excellent care of us. We were blown away when entering our room, due to the cleanliness, and fresh and modern amenities. We were on the 11th floor and the view was awesome. In order to get to our floor, we had to swipe our room key which was great for security. If back in Fort Lauderdale, this will be the place to stay!
As to my Booking N 2442079117
As to my Booking N. 2442079117 which was cancelled while I was flying right to the hotel Hyatt Place New York City/Times Square, I made a complaint to both the hotel manager and to Booking.com but received no reply. I arrived at the hotel with my family at 23:50 only to hear that my booking had just been cancelled and the person at the reception was irremovable. I had to book another hotel right away, at midnight for the same night. Awful service and inexcusable behaviour. One star is too much!!!
So these guys are scam artists.
So these guys are scam artists.. they have a price guarantee on the website, I have attempted numerous times and they find any crazy excuse not to adjust their rate, i mean even a few dollars.. crazy!
