Hyundai Exeter sold my private data

I came to a test drive in the Exeter store. I have purposefully created an email address that I only used for that that drive. A year later I started to receive email from 3rd party senders with whom I never interacted. Hence Hyundai has sold my private data on. Which is not very wise for a company working on a competitive market. I would never buy the car.

Called my dealer in portsmouth

Called my dealer in portsmouth, wanted to book the car in for a specific job to be told i cannot do that, it has to come in for an investigation at £160 then the job i wanted doing was extra on top?
Hyundai have gone down the pan, no new car from them this year or ever now, extorsion, so its a £160 extra charge even though you know what you want! It wasnt for a fault i could'nt bottom out.
Hyundai now decide what they will do now to your car, so if i said do my front pads i will get a no, we want to investigate it at £160 then tell you what you asked for in the first place, i dont think so, my new car will not be a Hyundai.

First MOT due but engine management light has come on

My hyundai is on lease and the MOT is up on the 23rd June. My engine management light has come on and has 5 errors. I called the garage was told its ok to drive until the car says there is errors. Ive tried to book the car in and was told im looking at months before the car will be looked at and if i want i can drop the car off without a courtesy car but to keep making payments. This is absolutely terrible service.

Charged £334 for a £50 switch

Reversing lights, rear camera and reversing sensors all failed simultaneously. I informed Hyundai that I suspected the reverse micro switch had failed.
After two days of pointless checks, they confirmed it was the reverse micro switch and charged me £320 for a £50 switch. I complained to the dealer and head office who brushed me aside and stated they had to make a systematic check. What rubbish, the obvious thing to do was check the micro switch, just as if a bulb had blown on a car, you wouldn't check the entire wiring loom first, you would check the bulb.
I have been to 3 x Hyundai dealers in Peterborough, Boston and Barnstable and they are all the same in trying to rip the customer off. I have cancelled my service plans with Hyundai will get my cars serviced by the local garage now, who are honest and reliable.

Beware tucson mhev

Bought a mhev tucson was not told at the time that the car is not suitable if you do low mileage. The exhaust filter warning light comes on and the only way to clear it is to drive at 60mph set the automatic gearbox to 3rd gear and 3500 revs. Drive down the motorway for at least 12 miles until light goes out. In general the car only does 32mpg.

Catastrophic Failure of 69 i10 at 70mph

12/04/24 our 69 plate Hyundai i10 Premium SE failed catastrophically whilst we were travelling at 70mph on the M4 Motorway. I.e. the vehicle powered itself down with no warning sounds or lights, from 70mph whilst we were cruising along in the middle lane of the smart motorway.
Police moved the vehicle from the inside lane of the smart motorway to a refuge area.
Our car was recovered to JOHNSON’S HYUNDAI IN SLOUGH where the vehicle underwent various diagnostic tests, none presenting any error codes and unfortunately the service team were unable to replicate the failure/find a fault.
We were expected to take the car back, despite this issue potentially affecting every other i10 of the same age.
Hyundai are under no obligation to record or report a failure of this magnitude UNLESS AN ERROR CODE APPEARS OR THEY CAN REPLICATE THE FAULT but when the fault occurs once in four and a half years, just imagine the amount of underreporting that has gone on over the years. It is still lost on me that we are expected to accept a vehicle back that has failed in a situation where the gravity could have easily ended in our deaths, with no reason for the error being found and no effort made to report the incident on the national database so that others can benefit from knowing they are not the only ones to have this happen to them (because that is another reason why Hyundai can’t do anything more to help us, we are the only people to have had this happen to them DUE TO THE CONDITIONS NOT BEING MET FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO REPORT THE FAULT NATIOANALLY (ie, can’t replicate the fault in a garage and no error code detected).
We collected the car on the 8/5/24 from the dealership and the vehicle was returned to us with greasy hand prints over the ceiling and seat covers, bird poop caked over the wing mirrors, roof, windscreen, bonnet and doors… this car was in immaculate order the day it failed.
I could never buy another Hyundai. I could never recommend Johnson’s Hyundai, no customer’s car should ever be handed back to them with the tow disc still protruding proud of the bumper, or caked in cobwebs and bird poo.
Absolute nonsense way to treat a customer.

Smiths Peterborough

I used a site called Carwow to look for a Hyunda Bayon and was contacted by a sales person online.
I basically informed them politely that there offer was not good enough for me to make a purchase from them and they suggested I downsized on trim! I told them that was insulting.
Ended up phoning the Sales Manager Andrew who informed me had had trawled through my Carwow history, and accused me of being confrontational and had no intention of purchasing a vehicle! I asked Andy to provide evidence of me being confrontational, to which he could not. I have the full Carwow transcripts if required as proof of how rude the Sales manager was.
My worst ever customer experience with a car dealership. Definitely avoiding Smiths Hyundai, Peterborough, as they have forgotten who customers are and how to treat them!

Indifference towards even a new sale

Business is booming at Hyundai. So much so, that even H.O. can ignore a potential Customer's request for information on a new model! The dealers, certainly the 3 I called, are clueless.
A staggering level of indifference towards a sales enquiry, imagine trying to resolve a problem.
A close call, as I was ready to make my first ever purchase from Hyundai.
The fact they can't be bothered to respond to the many dissatisfied posts on TP kind of sums up the Hyundai UK Customer ethos.

Brilliant Customer Service

Buying a new car is always difficult making a purchase that is right for your needs, the Ashford Hyundai dealership helped me in choosing the vehicle that was right for me. Samantha knowledge and her friendly approach was brilliant from choosing the car to explaining all the equipment on the handover, the whole experience was second to none and would strongly recommend their expertise and customer service.

Customer Care Team Useless

Multiple attempts made to try and contact Hyundai UK customer service centre. Phoned in 5 times and each time, promises are made to call me back, to no avail. Constantly going around in circles and unable to actually speak with the relevant department. Customer service staff sound disinterested. No one is taking ownership.

As for our Tucson, been parked in local dealership for 4 months out of 16 months since we bought it. Won't be going anywhere near this shower again once our lease ends in December 2024.

Currently writing to the MD, such is my despair. Considering CCJ claim if I'm still going to be ignored.

How did they get one star no customer service at sll

How did they get one star. I've never dealt with such an arrogant less caring totally unfocused shambles.
This was also taking my complaint to director level at Hyundai and Silverlink Garage North East. Abysmal and the hybrid journey where it blew up under a year old cost me £8000 in loss. Do not go near

Brand new i10 broken for 6 months, with no fix date.

0 - Star Review.

Brand new i10 N-Line purchased in October 2023. As of November 2023 the digital dashboard cluster completely failed, meaning no critical information such as the speed was displayed.

Car handed in to be fix as of early December 2023, with the initial fix time being estimated to be completed early February 2024, this was then pushed back to late March 2024. The expected delivery/fix date came and went, with only one part to complete the fix being delivered and the other part now being on back order with no ETA.

As such, come the end of April 2024 a car that is 6 months old will have spent 5 months waiting to be fixed.

Hyundai customer service has been appalling and beggars belief that they even refer to themselves as a customer service department. Emails left with no replies, promises unfulfilled.

All in all I have spent more time on the phone to Hyundai trying to rectify the issue than time spent driving my brand new car.

It has been an exhausting experience and one I wouldn’t wish on anyone else.

Hyundai will have lost a once loyal customer for good as a result now and I would strongly caution anyone considering purchasing a Hyundai.

The service received from Hyundai UK is…

The service received from Hyundai UK is been the worst I have ever experienced. A 1 year old vehicle with a manufacturing fault on the engine and Hyundai UK quite happily sat back for 10 months until it was repaired. No support of onward travel and very sparse communication. The repair may not have cost money (warranty repair) but additonal transport for 10 months has left me severely out of pocket through no fault of my own.

Avoid Avoid They do not warrant 1 star at all

They do not warrant 1 star at all have been having trouble with a brake and clutch issue throughout the 5yrs never been fixed after 2 yrs problem comes back garage advised to speak to customer services as on going problem and a known issue with my model.spoke to them at the beginning of march to be told they were going to arrange a goodwill payment. My garage spoke to them to find out how to process it to be told it was being authorised. Their phone line was closed for over a week due to unforeseen circumstances. Spoke to a man today who said wasnt entitled to anything the manager I had been talking to had left the business. Nobody had contacted me even though their is an open case .I have done live chat twice and held on the phone 30 mins twice today to speak to them but nobody has had the decency to contact me.They must have got some serious customer problems to be that busy to not contact me in a month.20yrs I had their cars but this one has been nothing but trouble and when I'm told there is a design fault on brakes and a known issue with clutch from garage u would think a recall would be done but that would cost them money .Disgusting service from hyundai never buying one again and will advise others to do the same.

Read Hyundai LINCOLN

As a Motability customer I have used Read Hyundai for my last two cars. This time I have gone electric with the new Kona. I am very happy and pleased with my choice. On both occasions I have dealt with Trevor Spencer, who manages the process flawlessly and deserves my thanks. All the staff are polite and efficient.

Roofbars unavailable for new Kona 2024…

Roofbars unavailable for new Kona 2024 model with awful customer service from Hyundai main dealer and Hyundai Head Office UK. Neither could be bothered.

Thule Head Office in Sweden emailed this, "Unfortunately we dont have a solution for the Kona with a flush rail. The shape of the rail makes it difficult to design a kit and at the moment we have no solution, sorry."

Maybe at some point in the future Hyundai will get their act together. In the meantime, I will have to take the drastic measure of trading in my new Hyundai Kona for another brand.
