Had a mobility car for my son from Hyundai. So far had the i10 for approx 2 weeks and so far so good. Customer service (mark was my salesperson) was great, kept me in the loop every step of the way. Took longer than expected to arrive (almost 8-9 months) but happy with it.

Yet again using the find a charger took me into a very rough looking dead end in a council estate that said it was a shell ev charger. I’ve lost count now how many times. It’s utter rubbish.

Purchased a new car one year down the line the lacquer started peeling off the alloy wheels, Hyundai refused to replace them even after their technician said that the fault was a manufacturing issue and not outside influence, Hyundai are a total waste of time.
What Hyundai dealers do not tell you
I bought a new I10 SE Connect for my wife which she collected 1st June, 2023, from Hyundai Southampton. This car was manufactured in January, 2023 according to the chassis number.
It was some considerable time later that I noticed the car had rear DRUM brakes. I could not believe this for a vehicled manufactured this year. This is her third I10 and both previous cars had disc brakes all round. This was NEVER mentioned by Hyundai Southampton who supplied the car. I would like an apology from Hyundai UK together with an explanation of what on earth they are doing supplying a 2023 manufactured car with rear drum brakes and why their dealer never mentioned this fact.
A joke of costumer service
After a month that they have my car at one of my garage, always assuring me that the car is under warranty, they call me saying that they cannot fix my car under warranty because there is not car service record. 1 month to say that

Sold me an over priced car with rubbish tyres . Ask to swap for a smaller model only 10 months later and it’s miraculously depreciated by £4000 …considering its only done 400 miles since i bought it. Would never recommend this company. Was pressured into the i20 instead of the i10 which would have been better for me. Customer service is appalling, all they want is your money and then they kept hassling me to get it serviced …after 400 miles ????? Avoid Read Hyundai at all costs

Refund for deceased customer service plan

Apologies and platitudes on bereavement but after numerous phone calls and promise of refund on specific date WHAT A SURPRISE no refund
Hyundai profiting from deceased customers.
Worthless paintwork warranty
Paintwork peeling on a one year old Hyundai Kona. Dealership won't take on the repair directly but refer you to an approved paint shop for a warranty claim. That was three months ago! No replies to emails from dealership or head office so the claim is stalled with Hyundai warranty. It's all very well having a 5 year paint warranty but useless if you can't actually claim on it.
I'm now having to go after them via small claims court.
Certainly won't be buying another Hyundai.
Electric car stopped charging
Electric car stopped charging.AA could not fix. Took to Ancaster local Hyundai dealer who cannot test until January 2024 I have no car for two months. Appalling service. Next car will be a hybrid.
Selling faulty cars
Bought a car from Hyundai that had a leaky gear box and I took it back to the shop as I was told it’s not safe to drive they took over 2 weeks claiming they had fixed the problem yet while driving back from collecting I realised the steering wheel was very loose and the leak was even worse then when I took it in. The man who was dealing with this was named azim and I’m disgusted at the service I’ve been provided the risk of what could of happened was so dangerous putting my life in jeopardy allowing me to take the car and telling me it’s all safe to drive while the leak was still ongoing plus a loose steering wheel. I’ve now had to contact the head office as no one seems to be answering. Definitely will not ever recommend buying a car from here
Hyundai let me down
Hyundai.have a kind of recall on car charging leads which even their customer services and dealers are not sure of.... I ssked for help to get a replacement charging lead and was promised help and s goodwill gesture on price. .No one got back in touch with me at all... The lead needed is obviously vital as our Kona is fully electric....
Absolutely avoid.... Such a shame because the car is good.... The after sale help let's the product down hugely
BEWARE OF THE SALES PERSON NAMED "Paul"
BEWARE OF THE SALES PERSON NAMED "Paul"
Twice! he assured me that if i leave a deposit of £99 to reserve a car it would be fully refundable if i changed my mind when buying a car! If was witnessed by 2 people and repeated at the sales desk in his own words.
Due to unfortunate circumstances my partner had to cancel the agreement to buy the car because of issues with work.
When she asked for the deposit back PAUL as ignored all requests.
Paul even tried to guilt trip my partner when she first contacted him about cancelling the sale, saying...
The problem is I've had to pay for road tax to use another car for myself! once the sale of this car was agreed, then even asked if the finance could be done in her partners name (Myself)
I do question if this is even legal? of you to suggest this on someone else behalf without their permission?!
Since when as road tax for your own company car been the responsibility of the customer?
This is being taken up with your head offices as we speak.

Faulty Ignition Coil Issue
2 year old I 20 began misfiring showing on the log as on cylinder 2.Neither Derby or Nottingham dealership were able to identify the cause and refused a warranty claim.
Replaced the faulty coil at the local garage and now works fine.
They couldn't fix the useless Carplay wi-fi either but an Aussie on Youtube showed me how! Poor service!
Dishonest and Deceiptful
I took out a Service Plan with Hyundai when I bought a used i30 from a dealership. When I got my MOT reminder I went to book in with dealership only to be told that Hyundai had cancelled the plan. I had no prior notification and Hyundai had not refunded my payments which according to the contract they must do. Made several attempts to speak with Hyundai and was constantly blocked by call handlers who clearly hated their job. One operator told me outright that Hyundai couldn't care less then put the phone down. So I made a complaint through Resolver. After another period of waiting with no call-back from Hyundai I tried again to have a reasonable conversation with them. Now I was told it wasn't their problem but another company they use. They told me that there was a £20 cancellation fee which was a lie as the contract clearly stated it was £15 and only applicable if the customer is the one cancelling. I was also told that Hyundai would keep the management fee even for a period after they had cancelled the contract. How can a company get away with a complete abuse of the terms of the contract that was made and steal money from customers which they have no right to do. The complaint goes on until I get a full refund. Hyundai are one of the most deceitful companies I have ever come across. I urge everyone to avoid them at all costs.
Too High Tech. Hyundai Bayon
Car went for dealer 2nd Service. Request to investigate coasting sailing stopped working. Car returned to home while not home. No report about outcome. Still not working and start not working. Video report suggested everything ok. Contacted dealer. Said sailing only works in eco mode. Very obvious observation after driving car for 2 years. Then told battery charge at 78%
Reason for things not working low battery. Bring it in for a few days to charge battery and investigations. Contacted Hyundai HQ. Got back to me a week later. Need to take to dealer for investigations. Did Google search. Inherent problem on I12 and Bayon. Requires new battery and battery module.
If there is a charging issue a recharge will be a temporary fix.
I am refusing to go without my 2 year old car for most of the week.
Many owners have the Sam problem but Hyundai are making owners jump though hoops and wasting everyone's time and effort. Wish I never bought the car. I cant trust it any more. I wasted my money.
Hyundai are lacking in proper customer care
