crap vans crap service!

rusty old vans...side doors never open on three vans now.
then charged me £410 for 'fuel'
There was more in the tank when it was returned then I started with you bunch of halfwits!!

Never use them...ever!!

Should not be allowed to operate.

Hired a Luton transit with tail-lift from icanhire.com.
When I collected the van the tail lift would not operate, even with the engine running and the switch in the correct position.

Called their 0330 number to be told it may be a fuse and that I should go to the nearest Halfords to have this replaced. Went to Halfords and they diagnosed it as a faulty motor and it would cost around £340 to repair. As they could see it was a hire van, they produced a report which I could leave in the van. Phoned up again and was told there was nothing they could do, even though the whole point of having a Luton van with tail-lift is that it is easier to load and unload.

After 4 weeks, I was contacted by icanhire debt recovery for the sum of £743 for the 'damage' to the tail lift. I have pictures from the Halfords agent who took pictures of the blown motor unit. I sent these in to them but they failed to realise I took pictures of the pickup damage and drop off damage, which shows no further dents.

To this day my lawyer is still disputing the case with them and they have added a further £440 of 'costs'. Whatever lawyer they are using must be making a mint!!

PLEASE, DO NOT !EVER! USE THESE THIEVING SCUM OF THE EARTH!!!

Great automated system; good value hiring; recommended

I have now rented vans twice from IcanHire and like the automated system which gives so much more flexibility. The van had a few bumps and dents but that is not surprising with 120k miles on the clock. However it drove very well and Customer Services were good in answering my queries on the first hiring due to my lack of knowledge.
I also much liked the fact that the van was located near to me and was not limited by having to be collected from a depot
I will rent from them again

Van Hire made simple .......

Easy instructions to hire a vehicle with checks made to make certain a suitable vehicle is as nearby one's address as possible. Simple steps to unlock the vehicle in order to drive it, as well as the return procedure. Done verbally on the telephone with back-up by text messaging. Admin staff were extremely courteous and helpful - friendly yet professional!
I would have no problem recommending this hire business....and would certainly use them again, should I have cause to hire a van.

AVOID DANGEROUS VEHICLES and money taken

Very difficult to call for help or talk to anyone. When I did there was no one of authority to talk to. They refused to help in any way unless I paid hundreds of pounds. Leaving me stranded for hours. Awful customer service. Money grabbing, unhelpful, irresponsible. Will be taking them to trading standards. Do not use. They aren't even great value. Better companies out there.

Worst experience ever hiring a vehi …

Worst experience ever hiring a vehicle. For starters, the automated system they have for unlocking the vehicle does not work well - it repeatedly asked me to call back rather than unlock the van as it was supposed to. I then called the '24 hour' support line but after 30min no one picked up. The automated system finally unlocked the van, but I continued to call the helpline to see if they would extend our time by 30min to account for the issue and no one ever picked up. I emailed the company and have had a reply sayig someone from their debt recovery team (?) would contact me!! I replied to say why not someone from their customer service team, to which they said someone would also contact me from that team, but no one has 3 days later. Useless. Would advise against using this company as obviously not 24-hour or customer focused

Hired from Broadwater Worthing Suss …

Hired from Broadwater Worthing Sussex sadly had glitch with text service but phoned up & received excellent customer service. Van had been left with muddy drivers side floor & sugar wrappers & stirrer I just simply put them in the bin. The drivers well floor was rather muddy I just wipped it over when I got home. Van ran well & did the job even though it got rather dirty thanks to the fog ice & road salt I just gave it a wash when I got home before returning the van, at least whoever gets it next it's all washed & clean, the hire really was simple & really pleased.

The best of my experience

First time to hire from icanhire and DEFINATELY not the last time. Were the only that I could find to hire the van for 10 hours on Sunday, the process is fast and simple: get to the van's location, they open the van for you and...drive. Finish your job, park the van in the same location and they close it for you.My experience with them was excelent!

£750 taken for damage not caused by me AVOID

I hired a van, picked it up, it was a 6 year old beat up transit van with 100s of dents and scrapes. I returned the van in the exact same condition after just moving my furniture 1 mile down the road. 8 DAYS later (potentially 100s of hires) I got an email to say there had been damage to the passenger door (didn't even use it) and £750 taken from my card. I've git the fraud team to return the money and I`m going to take them to court if they pursue any further.

Basic but great service

I have used this company for 3 years never had a problem with them taking excess money from my credit card the service is really good and they try to help at all times. The only item they could improve is to clean the inside of the windscreen as this is a safety thing to improve visibility especially when the sun is shining

Stay well clear

Ive never heard of this company before , and frankly I wished I never did .
I hired a transit van , when I saw the van it was covered in rusted dents , the text service for unlocking the van never worked , when finally I got through to what was supposed to be customer services , they let me in . No fuel in van , and then I got told I had to leave the van with the same amount of fuel .
the brake light remained on, abs stayed on , seats all ripped , rubbish from the previous hirer was left in the van .
the van was a death trap , kept cutting out , smoked big time from the back , tracking was awful , speedo didn't work , odometer broken , side door couldn't open ,
then to top off the crap service , they then took another £13.98 out of my account for no apparent reason .
Please please watch out , this is a poor resemblance of a hire company , and should be closed down .

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!

This company is taking me to court for £535 for apparently leaving rubbish. When I hired the van I found tarpaulin in the back and an empty can of coke. I called them several times but they would pick up. So like any one else would I returned it with the tarpaulin in the back. I later received a call from a rude chap demanding £135 for the disposal of the so called rubbish. When I protested my innocence he threatened me with court action.

A few weeks later I received a letter from the courts demanding £535.
PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Cheap and cheerful

Just used them to hire a van to move things to London. Not the newest of vans but you get what you pay for... cheap and cheerful rental, good price and really easy automated unlock system. Will definitely use again.

Easy to use, value for money.

This is a great system for quickly and easily hiring a van. Ive used icanhire a few times now and i love how you simply drive to the van and pick it up and off you go. No need for form filling!!

horrendous!

The worst service I've ever received from any company.

My van was not at the agreed location, so I was issued another van that was 2 miles away. No notice given, in fact I waited at the original location for an hour. No answer from customer services throughout this time. The 'new' van was not road worthy. Brakes were shot and it kept stalling. Then I was over charged by twice the quoted amount and I had to send numerous emails and make dozens of calls to be refunded. I'm still out of pocket and the company offered me 20% of my next hire.
As if I would use that after such a bad experience... horrendous.

More trouble than they are worth

I hired a van with Icanhire as I was moving into my new house. On the day of rental I drove to the location given to me. When I got there I called the number required in order to unlock the van. This failed three times.

Following this I called the customer service number where I waited another 10 minutes while they continued to try and remotely open the van. After offering me other vans located in locations nowhere near where I currently was, I was told that someone from the company would drive out to assist and that this could take up to an hour.

This in itself was stressful enough as I was losing valuable time. After waiting in the cold for an hour I was then told that their driver had turned up and confirmed that the van was faulty. I was now left without a van on my moving day which is completely unacceptable!

They offered to drive me to another location but again this was too far out and meant I would lose even more time.

I would not use this company again! It wasn't worth the stress on an already stressful day!

2 hour van hire

I only needed a van for a couple of hours so they saved me a fortune as it only cost £20. Van was in good condition, it was easy to pick up and return. I will definitely use them again.

Absolute nightmare

This company really needs to update there fleet I hired a Luton van with a tail lift what an experience it was, tail lift wasn't working had to get engineer out who couldn't fix the problem was then told to drive the van to there workshop and had to go and collect another van which was around 5miles away.. the replacement van was in a bad condition it's smelt of pi** dirty previous hirer left mess in the van safe box was open and access to the van was open as it wasn't locked.I had no choice but to accept the van and continue with my hire all this cost me valuable time and a big inconvenience totally not happy however caludia was really helpful during the day and at night I spoke to a very nice lady and a man who were very helpful...but guys don't hire from this company there vans are old rusty and will. Breakdown on you
