Very Happy

I have had my BMW 420i for one year now. Nothing has fallen off or broken which is good. Even though it was over 5 years old with almost 50,000 miles it was in exceptional condition and beautifully prepared. The art is selling quality used cars is the skill in sourcing and buying and Imola travel far and wide to get the very best cars. Imola offer a 3 month warrant but I opted to purchase a top of the range 2 year warranty from them at a discounted rate (although so far this has not been needed). As for paying a holding deposit before seeing the car, this is something I have done previously many times over the last 20 years as it is quite normal when searching for specific cars with high spec which are located considerable distance from one’s home. Also I initially changed my mind and Imola refund my deposit the next day. Highly recommended for specialised quality used cars.

A Class Act

I bought a Mk.6 Golf Cabriolet from Imola in December '22, and I found the entire experience to be lacking for nothing. I honestly couldn't have asked for more, and I left in my new car feeling thoroughly positive and reassured about the entire exchange.

I found the team to be encouragingly professional from start to finish; really a class act, with excellent communication from the first point of contact to the last. Whenever a friend or family member asks me for advice on where they might hope to find a quality car with the backing of a very solid team indeed, there'll be no hesitation on my part in enthusiastically recommending Imola of Bristol every time – even if, as with myself, visiting them means travelling across the country.

Great company Lovely people Immaculate vehicle

Will not pay for replacement part Bought an Audi A4 in July 2022 nice…

They seem to nice but in my opinion once they have your money beware.

We do our best to source high-quality vehicles and ensure they are thoroughly checked before they are advertised for sale, which was the case for your vehicle too. Items can fail at any point unfortunately on an 8-year-old vehicle. In both instances of the failures you experienced we acted quickly to assist in getting the work carried out at a garage of your choice, locally to you to minimise the inconvenience caused and repairs were authorised on the same day to ensure the delays were minimal. Both of the repairs were of high value and not disputed for a moment so it's disappointing to hear that you don't feel that we did everything we could to help. Regarding the towbar which was attached to the vehicle on purchase, you advised that you had no need for a towbar and as the towbar was seized in place after being in situ for many years you requested for it to be removed. During removal of the towbar (by a third party) the item was damaged. At this point you insisted we should replace the item you told us you had no need for and went to great lengths to have it removed. At this point we felt this was not entirely on us and offered to cover half the cost of the replacement towbar of which you refused. I'm sorry to see this has resulted in a less than favourable review as we did throughout go to great lengths to look after you after the purchase.

Friendly and efficient

It was a straightforward, pain free process, starting with finding the car online, paying the deposit then collecting, its strange at first paying a deposit for something you haven't seen but after picking my new car up you soon realise how much care goes into the preparation of their stock, would highly recommend this efficient and friendly dealer

The proof is in the pudding

It’s now been 6 years since I purchased my 2014 BMW 330D M Sport Touring from Imola and I think it’s only fair I publish my extremely positive experience with both the service received and the car itself.
The buying experience is still fresh in my mind. There were two Tourings that I was interested in. Viv allowed me all the freedom to explore the immaculately detailed cars indoors in my own time and space and, despite the grim weather, was offered to test drive both.
Explanations of service history, vehicle checks etc were provided and I never felt like I was under any pressure.
Needless to say, I made my choice and it has proven to be the best car I’ve ever owned. No issues with the car whatsoever over the past 6 years. Just regular services and it still makes me as happy as the day I bought it.
It’s just a shame it will never again be as immaculately presented as it was on the day of collection!
When I eventually do decide it’s time for the next family wagon, I hope I will be able to find it at Imola.

Not convinced they check or service cars prior to sale…

I bought a 2018 Landrover Discovery last month from Imola, on finance with Motonovo.
Within 48 hours the vehicle had broken down twice and the service light came on. I initially got it in to a local diagnostic garage who said as soon as they plugged it into the computer over 60 error messages came up…. Not sure if it had been checked properly before sale, otherwise they probably would have know it had something wrong with it? Also no evidence it had been serviced except a fuel filter had been changed… that was the extent of its service I believe.

Eventually managed to get it into a main dealership (over a week’s wait), who said it needed a new engine!

Imola took the car back and gave me a full refund… unfortunately though, the finance marker for the vehicle has been left against my name, and so I can no longer get finance at 4.2% which I was offered at the end of March, but Motonovo and other lenders now only offer it at a minimum of 8.4% as I look like I take finance too often….. I also realized that the finance against the car I part exchanged with Imola had not been cleared down, so had to get that sorted too.

I have been told Motonovo will look into my predicament within three weeks of my complaint being registered, and it can take 8 weeks for the finance marker to be removed from my name…. So I now don’t have a car! I cannot afford to pay double the interest and be financially penalized for buying a faulty car. So until Motonovo sort out the situation I am without a car.
I believe if the car had been checked as comprehensively stated prior to sale I wouldn’t be in this predicament. Also when I mentioned only the fuel filter had been changed for the service, the response I got was “well what else do you think needs doing on a service?”

We are very sorry for the breakdown of the Land Rover and the subsequent inconvenience this has caused you.

All our vehicles do come thoroughly checked. This Discovery had previously been serviced by Land Rover main dealer. It was sent to a specialist mechanic who carried out an oil and filter service with a full healthcheck prior to being advertised by us. It was also sent to a reputable MOT centre for a new test before collection. The vehicle was also road tested extensively by our staff, with no apparent faults.

Our investigations have revealed the breakdown was likely due to a spontaneous common engine fault on this model. However, this could not have been foreseen by our pre sales checks.

As a dealer we always act in good faith, hence the full and instant no quibble refund.

The finance on your old car was settled in full as part of a 'contra-settlement' agreement by Motonovo.
We have done everything possible to
chase this through on your behalf, and have followed all the correct proceedures.

We appreciate none of the above reduces the inconvenience you have experienced. However we feel it is only fair to respond honestly to your comments.

Brilliant communication from the very…

Brilliant communication from the very beginning- mostly spoke with Viv. Quick response to emails and never hard to get it touch with. Very accommodating. On collecting the car I was greeted straight away and was not made to feel uncomfortable, which I have experienced at some car dealerships. I purchased an Audi A1 which was in immaculate condition and I couldn’t be happier with the car. I would recommend to anyone.
