Just completed my Invisalign journey…

Just completed my Invisalign journey and waiting for my retainer to arrive.
I’ve paid £3500 for Invisalign Go/Lite and for this I had 14 aligner trays, 6 refinement trays and 1 set of Essix retainer trays. My Ortho is throwing in whitening.
Overall I am happy with the way things have gone. My teeth are straight and the end result is pretty much as predicted.
Getting aligners is a big commitment, you have to wear the trays for 22 hours a day and when treatment is finished, wear retainers 22 hours a day then nightly forever if you want to keep them straight.
You need to do some research before you sign up as prices and packages seem to vary quite a lot between different providers.
I’ve been told that extra retainers provided outside my package will cost £460 for a set of 3, whereas other people I have spoken to have said they paid between £300-£600 and some have had this included. I’m not sure why there is such a price variation between providers, this doesn’t seem right.
In summary, I would recommend Invisalign but do research on packages/cost and providers. Join a Facebook Invisalign (not official) support group which will give you loads of advice and tips.

Invisalign don't check out dentist they recommend

Invisalign don't check out dentist, all they do is give awards for dentist that bring the most customers. All recommended dentists is just any dentist offering to sell Invisalign. My dentist miss sold me Invisalign when I didn't need it, ruined my teeth and Invisalign didn't care. Luckily I managed to get a refund but not by Invisalign by the dentist after complaints and meeting with the manager of the branch (bhandals) didn't not care about what the Invisalign specialist dentist did to my teeth or mis selling me the plan in the first place. My teeth wasn't even bad. The dentist scared me into getting them by telling I had to get Invisalign treatment before gum disease treatment. Shocking what people get away with and Invisalign just keep recommending dentist from hell to sell there products and ruin people's teeth for a shinning little reward

Worst Experience Ever!!!

Please remember that reviews are left for a reason. I’ve had a very bad experience with Invisalign and I don’t recommend it unless you’ve got money to waist. I had an issue with what the dentist was doing, contacted Invisalign and they advised that I speak to the dentist, that doesn’t make sense, there was no support at all. I’ve reported my experience to trading standards, please do the same. If enough people complain they’ll be investigated, I’m also going to write to the BBC. This is what we as consumers need to do, force these companies to be held accountable. They can’t talk their way out of all these complaints.

Awful company

Awful company, avoid at all costs. After the initial treatment the retainers took months to arrive and were completely wrong, not just a small shift in my teeth but completely the wrong shape. Second time around I'm still not happy with my teeth after spending thousands, the company are refusing to accept any responsibility and now I'm out of pocket, with damaged, discoloured and still not straight teeth. I really wish I'd never started the whole process.

I have been using Invisalign since…

I have been using Invisalign since 2018, and I have to say that I am impressed with the quality of the aligners and the overall treatment process. The aligners have been effective in straightening my teeth and have been virtually invisible, which is a huge plus for me. I appreciate the fact that Invisalign provides a discreet and convenient way to straighten teeth without the hassle of traditional metal braces. However, I have to deduct one star from my rating because the aligners can be difficult to clean and require a lot of attention to maintain their clarity. Additionally, I have experienced some discomfort and soreness when changing to a new set of aligners, but this is to be expected with any orthodontic treatment. Overall, I would still recommend Invisalign to anyone looking for a high-quality and effective way to straighten their teeth, but be prepared to put in some effort to keep the aligners clean and maintain the treatment process.

Permanent damage!!!!!

I write this review in order to help other people to avoid doing this treatment! It is dangerous! I had very bad invisalign treatment. My bite is missed aligned, I lost one tooth. And one tooth has been damaged permanently (bone loss). I can not replace missing tooth with implant as the space is insufficient (my dentist did not move teeth properly to create normal space). I can not eat my food properly, I can bite it in small peace’s and sometimes I chocked on my food due to incorrect bite that my dentist created. I end up having more problems that I started with. At the end I find out that the dentist who done my treatment is general dentist not an orthodontist. I personally think general dentist must be banned from doing such a treatment. Also I met a lot of people that their invisalign was bad also. People please do not get it! My worst decision ever!!!!!!!!! The damage is irreversible!

Can impact sleep, not practical for jobs with a lot of verbal communication and can be sore on your gums …

Dentists push invisalign as an up sell. It is not not practical option if you have a job that requires a lot of verbal communication.
They can impact also your sleep and I found myself waking up in the night because of the braces. I ended up taking them out some nights to get back to sleep. It’s like wearing two gum shields to bed.
As with other reviews on here, one set of the aligners had a sharp edge, that cut and rubbed my gum. My dentist was adamant it wasn’t the aligners but as soon as I moved onto the next set the problem stopped.
The focus on marketing and sales via dentists seems to be on perfect results and how easy the process is. It’s not, and takes a lot of commitment and definitely has an impact on your day to day life. It would be better to give people the pros and cons so customers can make an informed decision.
I have almost completed my course, but would definitely have gone for train track braces if I could go back to the beginning and known what I know now.

I was sold a dream from tooth talk in…

I was sold a dream from tooth talk in penwortham, the treatment initially went well, I noticed a vast improvement quickly but I was adhering to the strict 22hour a day wearing of my retainers. Near the end of my treatment I noticed my teeth still wasn't straight which I raised with Dr Arnold.
This is where it went down hill. He wasn't interested it's like they give itv12 months and if it doesn't work your on your own.
Customer service and aftercare are terrible, beware and do your research before committing

No help and poor products.

They say they’ll get back to you, and they don’t. Invisalign can straighten teeth but with no care for how it will change your face. Over 10 years later and I’m STILL wearing mine because they just go backwards if I don’t too. I contacted Invisalign asking for help - it’s their product after all. They refuse to help on any front. 0 support. I’m heart broken and can’t recommend this company based on their lack of client care.

Useless and unprofessional advice from Invisalign Customer Service

This review relates directly to Invisalign who supply the aligners and not to my orthodontist.

I paid £4,200 for comprehensive Invisalign and was told by my orthodontist over half of this went to Invisalign. For such an expensive product, you would expect good customer service to go with this from Invisalign, but not so. I found the response from Invisalign useless and unprofessional.

I need (or would like) to have cosmetic bonding or veneers at the end of Invisalign, to reshape some of my teeth and to fully close a gap. I wanted to share my 3D scan of my teeth (called Clin check) with the cosmetic dentist, who was at a different practice to my orthodontist. However, this was not possible as Invisalign only allow 2 parties to access Clin check: the orthodontist and the patient. I contacted Invisalign to complain about this and relay the difficulties this was causing me as a patient. Unfortunately, my orthodontist practice did not offer to contact them and pursue this matter, which would have been helpful, as I feel that Invisalign is really geared up to just selling their product directly to the dentistry profession. The appalling response and very slow response from Invisalign, was ‘that this is how Invisalign works’ and they did not provide me with any explanation as to why. I asked the extremely unhelpful customer services representative if they could seek further advice from their manager and relay the feedback on the problems this was causing me as a patient. Some weeks, the customer service responded to me again – by text – only to reiterate advice he had already given me. That short text conveyed the sentiment to me, 'see if we care, lump it, or like it.'

Invisalign – you are a very expensive product, where you are affecting people’s dental health and lives. Listen and engage with customer feedback, remember it is the customer’s that keep you all in work and there are now lots of other aligner companies out their to choose from.

If you like medieval torture devices…

If you like medieval torture devices then this is for you. Spikes on your teeth that cut your gums to shreds when you eat, plastic restraints for your teeth that would be animal cruelty for a dog. 12 months of not being able to talk properly and dribbling. And when you think you’re done, steel bar behind your teeth for life. I have made mistakes in my life, but this is the worst, and I paid for it!

Great!

Really don't know why there are so many bad reviews on here. People are complaining that you have to take them out to eat and brush your teeth after eating and also use chewies.. You are told this before you even start treatment, and surely its common sense not to eat with them in!!

You have to brush your teeth after eating with traditional braces also, and who would want to put plastic over their dirty teeth with food stuck in them?! Not me!!

As for the chewies, these are given to you by your provider and are also widely available to buy online for a fair price..

You know all of this before you even agree to your treatment so I don't see the need for the bad reviews. Seems to me like people are just making this up to try and get some money back.

I would recommend invisalign to anyone sat on the fence. Do not take any notice of the bad reviews!

Poor customer service

Actual treatment was fine, and worked for me.

However, initial retainers took 2 months to arrive, In which time my teeth started to shift back to original positions.
Recently had a crown fitted so had to order new retainers. still not arrived after 2 weeks.

Recommend the treatment but get the retainers from somewhere else (most others are cheaper than vivera anyway)

Not as advertised!

Invisalign should not be advertised as a quick solution. They fail to mention post treatment, patients will have to wear a retainer for 22 hours a day for up to 6 additional months. There is nothing quick about this. Furthermore, unlike traditional braces with Invisalign you have to chew for 20 minutes up to 4 times a day which can cause headaches and in general this is completely unsustainable to do every day for a year or more. Chewies on which the success of Invisalign relies on, are also impossible to find anywhere. Not available in any shops and online it’s very difficult to locate with insanely long delivery times. Having to brush your teeth and clean two trays every single time you eat every day is also so frustrating. I regret my decision and wish I opted for traditional braces.

Definitely not for everyone

Definitely not for everyone, and the practitioner you use is very important, mine was rubbish, he lied, he shaved my teeth when I clearly told him before the treatment started I did not want that. Now I have bigger gaps than ever. Also the plastic stinks and you have to remove every time you eat.
Really is not worth the £3500 plus I paid.
I saw no real improvement after 6 months that’s why the dentist started to shave my teeth to make them narrower.

Avoid at ALL costs

So far, having an awful experience and only half way through when I ‘should’ be finished!! After my first 9 week check up (which I’ve since read should be at 6 wks), Debtist said trays didn’t fit properly as one tooth not responding (wondered why I was getting ulcers)! Had to make another appointment to get new impressions…. Fast forward 5 weeks and TWO sets of impressions later, Invisalign are shipping new aligners a week later than scheduled… apparently it takes at least a week for the trays to travel from USA to UK… (have they not heard of DHL?). So, assuming my next appointment happens when they are ‘supposed’ to arrive, I’m currently TWO MONTHS behind a 4.5 month total schedule. You can’t speak to Invisalign directly as it not allowed so only your dentist.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS as it will cost you more than money (mine is currently at £3,500!!!!)

All done and results are perfect

Finished the treatment and the results are amazing. It took 15 months but my teeth are straight and my smile wider. Would recommend.
Experience will vary depending on your orthodontist. I’m glad I didn’t see these (weird) reviews. I’d suggest joining the UK Invisalign Facebook group for a true reflection of people’s experiences.

AVOID... I was near the end of my consultation…

I was near the end of my consultation and was nearly having these fitted but luckily enough I read the reviews before hand.
Firstly they are friendly and helpful until you ask some simple questions. Then they become abrupt and rude.

The trays stain every time you eat or drink. The solution they suggest is to take them out if having any drink or food, also to carry a toothbrush to brush your teeth before you put them back in and after every food and drink. Ridiculous!

They also make your teeth loose and cause some to fall out which they don't tell you! Your teeth will end up worse!
