Had a problem with one of their problems and it was resolved immediately with an email solution.
However, (and I hope IObit read this) I may remove all of their software if the volume of ads to buy more of their apps does not slack off soon.

I regret ever installing IObit software. Not only did it fail to fix a single issue on my PC, but it also buried me in a flood of unwanted programs I never asked for. Every time I opened my computer, there was another useless pop-up or tool they shoved in without permission. The worst part? There’s no simple way to stop them unless you completely remove everything, which ended up taking me hours of cleanup.
Their support was absolutely no help. Instead of solving the problems, they tried to push even more of their junk onto me. I expected a tool that would improve my system, but instead I got the digital equivalent of a virus disguised as “optimization.”
Save yourself the headache and stay far away from IObit. There are plenty of trustworthy alternatives that don’t sneak in programs you never wanted and waste your time. I learned the hard way, but I’ll never let their software near my computer again.

Many thanks!
Yes, I downloaded and re-installed Smart Defrag 11,
this allowed me to register the software.
This response from IOBit regarding software registration, was prompt and in keeping with my overall experience with the company.
I've been using IOBit software for a number of years, on several different computers, with very good results.

I have purchased several iobit products over the years and have always found both them and their Technical Support First Class.

They make it extremely difficult to cancel subscription, also you can't login to your account, password reset links do not arrive in the mailbox. Definitely they are focused on scamming people and I don't want to support projects like that.

The first email the person refused to help me. I still have the email. I was ready to drop my 20+ years as a customer. And all my clients.

Excellent program. Highly recommended. Especially when you buy a new computer and clone the old computer, a lot of mismatched drivers.
Also, very prompt follow up from the support.

I've always been satisfied with IObit products but their advertisements were always annoying. But what is really problematic is that lately they've completely removed their subscription management pages (which is illegal?) and made it very hard to cancel or turn off auto-renewal.

I had contact with the customer Service of IObit (and their Invoicing Partner Paddle.com) regarding a problem with an upcoming Invoice about an Upgrade of IObit-Products. The contact was very fast, teh feedback and handling about the issue was friendly and professional. Thank you for that good Service and customer relation.

I stopped using IObit Drive Booster when the blue screen of death appeared on my Windows 11 Laptop way back in 2023 after updating the drivers using IObit Drive Booster.
But as of 28th June 2025, to the time of writing the review, I decided to try IObit Drive Booster again after seeing on the IObit website that the software passed the Microsoft WHQL test.
I am officially back to using Drive Booster since, after updating the drivers, the blue screen of death didn't appear.

Consumer Review: A Closer Look at IObit’s Software and Business Practices
📆 Purchase Date: May 18, 2025
🛑 Refund Requested: June 19, 2025
________________________________________
Overview
On May 18, 2025, I purchased a bundled subscription from IObit via Paddle.com that included Advanced SystemCare 18 PRO, IObit Uninstaller PRO, and Driver Booster 12 PRO, licensed for 1 year on 3 PCs. These tools, on the surface, appear to offer powerful system optimization and maintenance solutions, and for a brief period, I found them to be incredibly effective. However, my experience took a dramatic turn, leading me to request a full refund and discontinue use just one month later.
________________________________________
The Issue: Embedded Spam and Persistent Marketing Pop-ups
Despite paying for a premium license, I found myself continually bombarded with aggressive, intrusive marketing pop-ups. These weren’t occasional reminders or optional alerts—they were hard-coded spam-like prompts that appeared every time I used the software, regardless of my configuration settings.
While IObit includes an alleged “option” in the settings menu to disable marketing notifications, this option proved to be completely ineffective. Even after toggling it off, the software continued to push ads for upgrades and unrelated third-party products. This strongly suggests that the marketing functions are embedded at a deeper level, beyond user control—what can best be described as built-in spam.

Ethical Concerns and Consumer Trust
As a consumer, I find this practice deeply offensive and unprofessional. It is one thing to offer a free product supported by ads. It is quite another to charge customers a subscription fee only to aggressively market additional services to them within a paid product. What makes this more troubling is the nature of the software itself—these are tools marketed as solutions for cleaning your PC, protecting against malware, and improving system performance.
The contradiction is glaring: the very software meant to protect users from pop-ups and unwanted ads is the same software inflicting those experiences on them.
This practice is not only unethical but also highly manipulative, and I believe it reflects a larger issue in the software industry—where user consent and control are often ignored in favor of profit-driven design.

Broader Patterns and User Complaints
My experience, unfortunately, is far from unique. Public sentiment around IObit confirms a growing concern:
• Trustpilot lists over 350 one-star reviews explicitly citing aggressive advertising and spam-like behavior in IObit’s software.
• On IObit’s own forums, users have posted over 500 complaints related to persistent pop-ups, bundled installations, and spam tactics—some dating back nearly a decade.
• On Reddit and other tech communities, IObit is frequently described using terms like "spamware," with users accusing the company of pushing fake errors and exaggerated alerts to drive unnecessary upgrades.
This pattern of user feedback paints a clear picture: IObit’s business practices are routinely called into question, and the volume of complaints suggests these issues are not isolated incidents but part of a systemic marketing strategy.

Final Thoughts
It is disheartening to abandon software that I genuinely found useful, especially since the tools themselves performed well from a technical standpoint. However, functionality cannot excuse manipulative marketing tactics, particularly when those tactics override user preferences and compromise user trust.
As consumers, our choices matter. If you have purchased IObit software and experienced similar issues, I encourage you to demand accountability—uninstall the software, request a refund, and make your experience known publicly.
Until IObit takes real steps to respect its paying customers by removing forced advertising from its premium products, I cannot recommend their services.

Provides a variety of tools some antimalware doesnt but none essential.
However it also corrupts files and installs adware that regularly pops up on your desktop.
Its also extremely hard to uninstall
After over a year of uninstalling it, I'm still finding residual files and most cant be deleted by regular means.

Well I had an issue with some software I bought and it had to be uninstalled, I emailed the company around 6 days after purchase and I had a reply within an hour or so. They refunded me for the product without question.

The software is good, but it has solicited a joke operation called 2checkout which absolutely tanks the customer experience and ordering process.
Invoice and payment addresses mixed up, as well as VAT calculations applied badly, and at the end of the checkout the emails came to wrong email address.
Now that it has 2checkout, I am not sure if I will renew or think about cancellation out of principle of how bad it really is.
-------
I came back and edited this, 30/July/ above is original comment.
The software is fine - I've moved experience from 1* to 3*
I did email, and in response, I had the reply we see you used ..email address.. to place order and here are the codes.
That was not the issue, the CRM flow and options of the checkout process of verifone is a shambles.
It presumed things based on VPN Geo IP, it inserted TAX based on contact data and paypal, but not true business data, and it presented wrong invoices, none of this could be changed as verifone just assumed I am a retail user - so I had to create a different email address tie it to paypal, with a different shipping address, to work around, to stop false taxes being taken.
That is a pain in the ***
Support, didn't ask about the issue, it also made assumption I was having difficulty with licence key retrieval and gave a canned response.
--->
So for a typical retail end user, no problem, software is fine, used it a long time, and checkout probably OK.
For a business end user, software is fine, checkout CRM flow is a catastrophe needs redone in a sandbox.
---------------
and yeah -- legit, have used this software a few years now, but what happened as result of mail and checkout hassle, was I had parallel old licence for couple weeks, and new licence.
Other issue in CRM flow of 2checkout, verifone, renewal, linking renewal to one billing line individually more expensive line by line, and not allowing bundle purchase..
(just a mess from start to finish)
there is too much wrong in the checkout flow to explain adequately screenshots impossible without repurchase ..
I am c-level in a tech business, we have dev and fintech as part our systems and what I am trying to say is your checkout process 3rd party partner is a mess.
It makes for a very bad experience and needs tracker shields and popup blocks, as well as thought to process flow.
This 3rd party checkout is in root cause for a lot of issues (cookies, trackers, popups, CRM database and payment gateway adding taxes wrong) -- solve that and improve your business.
----------------------------------------
If you want to contact me for more info and consulting services find I am an active customer I did reach out, but you didn't interact correctly.
-----
Final input, what goes wrong in your software
your upsells in the installers are a pain, those 3rd party apps, like 3rd party payment gateway are negative, install a 3rd party app from your app, and the PC is opened to their apps and their 3rd party installs,
this is a nightmare for people who don't may attention to detail & checkboxes, click through in a hurry..
this introduces malware and many other things outside your control, rethink that too..
your yearn to make money with multiple trickles is creating a negative perception, your losing customers not winning multiple revenue streams.

Be aware my time is no longer free - the software is running:

Became like a viruses base. When you download one Driver Booster you can not avoid instaling other rubbish. This is pathetic.
The longer I use it the more intrusive becomes.
I loved them but will not use anymore.
This is not true you can ignore and no install additional software because it is impossible.

I used ioBit Driver Booster and I was quickly disappointed that iTop comes with Iobit and it's terrible! Even though I declined to install iTop, I suddenly noticed that iTop is secretly installing its programs! It installed uneccessary programs that I don't need. I potentially feel Iobit is terrible and is a PuP

I would like to express my appreciation that my query was read and the quick response. As a senior still learning a lot re IT, I was having problems with driver updates, and installing deleted ones. I had to consider buying Pro, and as it was for 3 appliance, I only wanted it for 1, and wanted price to be reduced. I suggested this, and to my amazement someone actually read and understood what I was saying. I then had a nice note, plus a registration code to connect to Driver Pro. I am so happy that all drivers have been reinstalled and updated, and PC back to 100%. Thank you IObit. I would not have got that sorted out on my own.
