I have just used Ison Harrison for the purchase of a property and cannot sing my solicitor, Julie Smith's, praises enough. From the start she understood that this was a matter I needed dealing with quite quickly and from the first point of contact, made sure that we had done everything needed to make sure it moved quickly.

It started off as a very stressful situation but after speaking with her over the phone for the first time, I felt confident that my matter would be handled just fine.

The thing I appreciated the most about this experience was that I never felt like a burden. She was more than happy to answer any questions or queries I had, was happy to call me and explain things, was efficient in handling the matter and, it never felt as though I was a pain which is an experience I've had with quite a few other solicitors now.

As assured from the beginning, my matter was completed on time and smoothly.

All documents were completed online which was a godsend for speeding things along and just the convenience of not having several trips to the post office!

Overall I have had a brilliant experience with Ison Harrison from the start and I've found that every person I have spoken to in regards to this matter has been friendly, made things easy to understand and just happy to help.

Not responding to communications from me or my estate agent, not progressing critical issues, leaving critical issues until the last minute which if I had not contacted them might well have delayed completion of sale.
Fee Earner nor assistant returned contacts from me nor my estate agent so I had to contact the head of department to get traction. He resolved the small but critical issue, which could have delayed the completion, in under 1 hour whilst fee earner had not progressed this for weeks.
Then the day before completion we had still not exchanged contracts so I called only to be hit with 2 small, but again completion critical issues to resolve. Were they going to contact me or would we only come across these when it was too late! I had to cancel my plans for the day to resolve the issues.
They don't seem to manage the conveyancing process at all, everything seems to be ad hoc and left to hope they notice the problems at the last minute.
Would not recommend for any legal work.

I used the Probate Team at IH after the death of my mother had her will instructed under IH. As this was the first time that I had experienced being an executor to a will, it was a learning curve for me. However, my experience with the IH team was not at all to the standards I expected.

In summary, I was passed from pillar to post, the response times were awful, literally everything needed checking and chasing. There was limited proactiveness from IH. When the solicitor I was dealing with went onto maternity, I was passed onto new contacts and the service just got worse.

In the end I was literally calling anyone to get an answer. There was only one person who deserves a positive mention is a young gentleman (Lucas Barnes), as he was the only one who seem to be able to get me updates/proactively come back to me.

Some of the paperwork had been lost twice with the couriers which has encountered extra cost to myself - and here we are over 1 year on and I still can't get any proactive update from IH on the compensation claim from the courier.

The final straw was the day when the solicitor sent me an update and addressed the email to my dead mother - I fully appreciate that mistakes happen but there was no recognition of this.. This is an unacceptable situation. I have raised my feedback and dissatisfaction with IH along with an expectation of what I would like done as compensation- and yet again NOTHING!

So, I finish off by saying, life is too short to worry and get upset about this anymore but I will NEVER recommend IH to anyone and I will NEVER use them again.

Aida Eldib and Charlotte Oxby did an amazing conveyancing procedure from instructing them to exchanging contracts took 5 weeks and only a further week to completion. They were extremely helpful and patient explaining procedures and assisting me completing forms. All the staff were very professional and helpful whoever I spoke to, nothing seemed too much trouble for them. I would recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone needing conveyancing work. Yvonne S

Avoid Ison Harrison Solicitors – Especially Rebecca Foulkes – If You Value Your Sanity and Finances

I genuinely wish I had read the reviews before choosing Ison Harrison Solicitors. I made the huge mistake of trusting Persimmon Homes’ recommendation – in hindsight, it feels like they must be getting a commission from Ison Harrison for referring new clients. That’s the only way I can make sense of how this incredibly poor solicitor ended up on their recommended list.

Our experience with Rebecca Foulkes was nothing short of a nightmare. Her staggering incompetence turned what should have been an exciting house purchase into an absolute ordeal. The lack of communication was beyond frustrating – she was constantly “on lunch” or just completely unreachable. Getting any kind of response from her felt like chasing a ghost.

What’s worse is that due to her negligence, we’ve only just found out about significant hidden costs we now have to pay on top of everything else. These were never made clear from the start. Had we known the full financial picture – which is literally her job to provide – we would have postponed the purchase until next year. But now we’re stuck in a really difficult financial position because of her complete lack of transparency and basic professional diligence.

This whole experience has been mentally and financially draining. If you care about your peace of mind and your money, steer clear of Ison Harrison and definitely avoid Rebecca Foulkes. I regret ever trusting them with our house purchase.

I was recommended these solicitors by a friend and I was not disappointed the service I received from Kiswar was first class, her legal knowledge and attention to detail was very impressive however what made the biggest impact was her understanding of, empathy she showed me and a calming influence in a very challenging time. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I used Ison Harrison, Aimee Dockerty to be precise.. I had a sale fall through with these guys previously and I never actually took too much notice of it. The other buyer said that my solicitor wasn’t answering any questions or queries they had but I just kind of brush it off

Then I re-listed the house for sale immediately after, we had an offer straight away and I kept I touch with the buyers, from the start it was a disasters Aimee wasn’t replying to emails, she want returning voicemails and she wasn’t replying to the buyers solicitors either

This went on for 4 months until my second sale had nearly fallen through too…

In the week leading up to me terminating Ison Harrison’s - (Aimee Dockerty) as my solicitor I had tried to call her 8 times, I’d been into the office 2 times sent her around 5/6 emails and all no reply… but within 8 minutes of me smiling her to say I wasn’t happy and I was changing solicitors she had replied

Useless at her job. Will cost you a lot of time and money.

Selling and buying using Ison Harrison ( in particularly Chloe Hayes and Ben Kenworthy) could not have been any easier. The communication was fantastic, level of detail perfect and guidance and support was there throughout. In a time when I’m sure they were manic due to the stamp duty change their professionalism and attention detail was first class.

Used Ison Harrison Guiseley after being referred by a friend and they were fantastic. I sold my house in December using a different solicitors and it was horrific, but both Leah J and Hayley C were absolutely brilliant. They were very professional, always on the ball and replied to any query very fast. Made buying a new property with a new baby so much less stressful. I can’t sing there praises enough and will recommend them to anyone.

I found the experience of having Leisha and Sarah handle the conveyancing of a house sale to be excellent. They were both responsive to any questions and supported the whole process from start to finish extremely professionally. Received great service from Leashia and Sarah, dealing with both obtaining the probate on an estate and the corresponding property sale.
The service was attentive and helpful, keeping me updated with progress and dealing with stuff that I had no knowledge of, being an appointed executor for the first time. The final invoice came in at a value lower than I had mentally prepared for too, so thumbs up all round.

I had Zain Alam representing me in court yesterday, I can truly say Zain was very professional in and out of the court , he phoned me several times before the court date regarding keeping me updated , he made sure the court was fair against me also , would 100% recommend to anyone needing a trust worthy solicitor , Thank you Zain once again

Very very poor service and when I asked compliance to contact me nothing they gave money to my exwife that was not even due they didn’t care don’t use there Barnsley office what ever you do I asked for help and nothing

I have used other conveyancers in the past that have not matched the professionalism and proactive approach of Ison Harrison. I would definitely recommend using them.

We bought a new build house and used Niamh Wilson from Ison Harrison. She was excellent from the start to the end, including when we had last minute issues with our mortgage a couple of days before we were supposed to exchange contracts.

I needed assistance negotiating a settlement with my previous employer. The service provided by Kishwar Hanif was absolutely first class. She was clear in communications, helped me articulate my objectives and negotiated the settlement on my behalf professionally and courteously. The final outcome was easily agreed by both the employer and me and all of my objectives were met. Kishwar was incredibly efficient in responding. I have no hesitation in recommending both Ison Harrison and Kishwar.

Claire and Somia first class I was a first time buyer they explained everything very clearly and worked very efficiently which turned out to be a challenging mortgage application in the end I would highly recommend.
