Excellent IT4HOME.
Very pleased with IT 4 HOME.AFter being dismissed by a previous PC repairer and told to buy new laptop,IT4 HOME found out the problem,it was just my charger lead not working,plus they also updated my laptop and fitted extra data facility.Saving me many hundreds more £'s on buying new device.They picked up and collected the laptop,were more than patient and helpful on the phone,very pleasing manner and had the laptop sorted and ready to use within a week(they had to order some parts) .My laptop now has a new lease of life and IS NOT READY for PC heaven,yet,even tho it's about 6-7 years old.Thank you IT4HOME,for ,at least,investigating the problems,fixing the problems and saving me the price of new laptop Being on pension,that meant a lot .I now know who to turn to if I ever have further issues my technology devices.

The advice I had from this company was…very poor
The advice I had from this company was misleading. Having been told that my pc would be unable to cope with an upgrade of software to Windows 10 and advised to buy a new pc, I was also offered a 'care package' to maintain 'all my IT devices for around £16.00 per month. I felt very uneasy about this so took advice from another IT company which upgraded my exisiting pc and installed windows 10, all for less than £50.00 !

It is our company policy to give best practise advice to our customers.
In this instance, our advice was based on the most cost effective solution. It’s good industry practise to proactively replace a PC between 3-5 years, and depending on the specification, sometimes longer. In general, it’s uneconomical to upgrade a PC/Laptop when it’s older than 5 years, unless the specification can support the requirements.
Your PC Specification was: Core2duo, 4GB Memory, 500GB IDE SATA 7.2k, Windows 7.
Your PC was 8 years old, and the specification unsuitable for us to warrant the upgrade/advise or support any problems post upgrade. Whilst we accept it can be done, as a business we have duty to warrant our repairs/upgrades and this includes any snagging problems into the future. In this instance, this upgrade was against our best practice, and any performance issues would have reflected on that advise. It was our opinion, that any funds being invested should have been spent either towards;
a) the purchase of new PC
b) a Refurbished PC - which would have been to higher specification and ‘cost neutral’.
Even with windows 10 upgraded, it needed a SSD and Memory upgrade to simply improve the performance. At this point, it would have been better to purchase a Refurbished PC where these components are already installed, including a better processor. Overall, this would have provided a better end user experience for a similar cost. We proposed our Care Plan as cost effective way of migrating your data, and resetting up your tech solution, and supporting your requirements into the future. The advice to buy a new PC was cost focused. Had you purchased a new or refurbished PC/laptop, there would have been 1-3 hours of labour simply to mirror how you used your old PC. With our care plan, we have an ongoing commitment to look after all your support needs, and this includes setting up new PCs/laptops and getting things as you need.
We stand by the advice we provided, and we’re sorry that you feel differently.
