Disappointing service
I needed a waterproof coat for a weekend trip so ordered from Jack Wolfskin on Monday, after first checking the website which states delivery is within 3 to 4 days.
Today (Friday) I checked my online account and found that the order was still ‘in process’.
I contacted customer services by chat who tried to tell me that delivery is actually a minimum of 5 to 6 days even though I have a screenshot of the website which says 3 to 4 days. I was told that it would be shipped today and takes 3 days to arrive.
I explained that I needed the coat for tomorrow and therefore asked to cancel, only to then be told that it might be too late as it had been sent to the courier, despite previously being told that it was awaiting dispatch.
I am now going to have to go to the shops for a suitable coat, which on reflection is probably a good thing.
Jack Wolfskin need to realise that there are many other retailers out there and slow delivery and shoddy customer service is unacceptable these days.

Spent about 300 euro on a winter jacket. the second year i pull it out at the start of winter and find the inside lining of the jack started has started "decomposing" is the only way to describe it.
never again will i buy anything from them.
Worst company I have ever dealt with
I cannot emphasise enough just how poor this company is. Purchased walking boots and a packable waterproof and both failed after less than 12 months. Waterproof is not waterproof anymore, despite me washing and reproofing with the proper products and the sole is coming away from the sole on the walking boots.
That is not even the worst part. The customer service at JW is by far and away the worst I have ever had to deal with. It took nearly 2 months from me posting them my jacket for them to process my refund (no offer to repair or replace which suggests they are well aware that their gear is crap). Their online chat agents lied to me repeatedly - two of them promised to email me an update that day. No emails ever arrived. Two of them assured them I'd be paid today - I had to chase my refund a third time to get paid.
Spend your money somewhere else - terrible gear, worse customer service.
Jack Wolfskin walking boots
Jack Wolfskin walking boots , heels wore down very quickly .
My favourite brand of outdoor clothing
My favourite brand of outdoor clothing. I love the fact that they are dedicated to minimise their environmental impact.
I have owned my current olive green…
I have bought my current olive green Jack Wolfskin 3-1 jacket in Germany and own it for believe it or not 15 years! It is made of extremely durable, breathable and high quality material. When I look at my jacket, it does not seem to be of 15 years old and the condition is still exceptional. I have waterproofed it once in all the years and wore it almost daily, for about 3/4 of the year as a reliable combination in winter or as a light summer hiking jacket or just the inner fleece around the house. I am replacing my jacket now as I am after a different colour and will get the same model again. Its a worthwile purchase for the quality you get, I just recomment to wait for a sale as the RRP is a bit too high with around $400NZD when you can get it as a discounted cheaper sale -
I also have a Berkeley Rucksack for the same time and this also is very durable heavy duty material with no faults after 15-20 years!
Very unhappy customer
Returned a pair of £75 hiking shoes as after wearing them for only the third time to hike across a damp field I ended up with one wet foot. I have just received the shoes back in the post with a very curt letter telling me the shoes are not waterproof so tough. I was sadly under the impression that hiking shoes could be worn in the variety of weather as experienced in the UK . Had I known I could only wear these in bone dry conditions I would have stuck with my £25 shoes from Mountain Warehouse which are nearly 3 years old but funnily enough have always kept my feet dry. Never again JW and you need to have a long hard look at your customer service attitude !!!!
Jack Wolfskin don't appear to have any…
Jack Wolfskin don't appear to have any customer service. They don't reply to my emails and 'Live chat' is always unavailable. I ordered a rucksack two weeks ago and have heard nothing since. Very poor/non existent customer service and still no rucksack or information.
Treat you like a thief. Rude, abrupt staff.
I did not realise that Jack Wolfskin stores in the UK are franchised, their customer service is appalling. I returned an item to a store that was bought online and received a stamped receipt to confirm it was in their hands. 2 weeks later I have heard nothing so I contact the store again, receive a rude and abrupt response telling me that it has been sent, but once again I heard nothing more. I did a live web chat where the agent was condescending asking me why didn't I just return the item myself, why take it to a store ... because you offer that!!
The language and tone is totally unacceptable, having bought some items over the years I will no longer be a customer. I was told to remain calm and patient - without being told how long I might have wait for a response, more like, we'll get to it when we can be bothered because you lost the item and we've done everything we can.
If you'd like to be treated like a thief and get accused of things then shop at Jack Wolfskin, but they don't deserve any business as they don't know how to deal with customers.
Best service ever!
Best service ever! I brought my coat whilst on holiday in Wurzburg (Germany) the gentleman who helped us was polite and spoke excellent English and he treated us like a local.
My friend introduced me to the brand and I am impressed by the service and quality of the products. Thank you.
Great product. Amazing after sales support!
I had an amazing experience with their customer service that led me to writing this review. I lost the chest strap from my bag and emailed customer services who sent out a replacement immediately without question or cost. Really impressed! This kind of after sales care isn't so easy to come by these days. I'll be recommending to friends and buying again. The bag has been great too :)
Walking shoes now 12 months old and…Poor.
Walking shoes now 12 months old and been used for what they are allegedly designed for.
Heels wearing through and not the slightest waterproof as advertised.
Would not use again.
Hiking shoes losing their soles
I bought walking shoes from Jack Wolfskin and the quality was appalling ! In the middle of nowhere while hiking, the soles of both shoes detached from the shoes, and I ended up in the mountains, with the bottom of my shoes which had fallen off ! I had to continue on my socks, on a rocky path! The foam between the shoes and the shoe soles was desintegrating! Those shoes are dangerous ! Never buy hiking shoes from Jack Wolfskin !
Their outdoor apparel is first class
Their outdoor apparel is first class, many times is even better than The North Face and Berghaus. I have jackets for 15 years and they still look brand new without many signs of wear and tear (if you wash them properly in stuff like Nikwax). Shoes are always firs class - comfortable and durable.
Do Not Buy From Jack Wolfskin
Bought my grandson a rucksack from Ambleside 5 weeks ago ( even took a photo of myself standing in the shop holding the new rucksack to show my grandson what I was buying him) on first use the stitching on one of the straps broke and my daughter tried to exchange it but I have the receipt and I am in Italy so the man who owns the shop refused to exchange this faulty item with a replacement. It is a Jack Wolfskin Brand.
The rucksack looks like new because only used once.
ACTIVATE XT TEXAPORE MID D SHOES
Purchased the shoes online as I didn't find that model in the shops in Belgium. Very fast delivery, good quality and comfortable shoes for hiking in mid range.
Amazing product and price
Amazing product and price! Super fast delivery, Highly recommend AAA+++++
Whilst on our honeymoon in Austria we…
Whilst on our honeymoon in Austria we purchased a jacket and salopettes from Jack Wolfskin.
After a couple of days my wife started to notice that she was wet through at the end of the day. As she was learning we didn't know if this was a combination of snow getting in from falling and sweat.
By day 4 or 5 it was apparent that both the jacket and trousers were not waterproof, despite being advertised as waterproof or advised by the store assistant that they would be suitable for skiing.
We were told by the store that we must return them to the UK customer service department and then by the UK store that we must return them to Austria.
8 weeks later and we have now been told that we will be refunded for the jacket but not the salopettes as they were not intended to be waterproof - despite what the store assistant told us.
Awful customer service experience that has put us both off the brand for the rest of our lives. I wouldn't recommend the quality or the product.
Fairly decent to be fair

Bad Bad zipper ... We bought 4 Jack Wolfskin hardshell…
We bought 4 Jack Wolfskin hardshell coats. Male and female. ALL had the same problem: the zipper.
Now I am in Sweden at minus 32 degrees and again my zipper fails me.
LETS ME DOWN when I need it most.
Will definately look for another brand now.
