Ordered wrong parts and rectified before delivery by staff who appeared more than happy to help. Received order today and really pleased with overall service thank you

Final REVIEW Delivery disorganisation, crazy mess!
Staff in shop were VERY helpful and products good quality. So I placed an order for base rails and a lot of spindles and selected a delivery day.
On that day only 2 packages arrived, half of the spindles and a small tool which were in a small package weren’t loaded onto the van apparently. I also checked the longer base rail to find it was snapped in two, despite it being packed quite well.
Rang company and they chased it up and said there hadn’t been enough space on the van for the 3rd package - well the van was nearly empty when they got to me early in the morning so that was not a good excuse. They did say they would replace the snapped part though and get both delivered on another day after my holiday - already loads of hassle and had to postpone install.
While I was away I got a text to say the package would be delivered - not the day I chose! - so had to contact company again for them to sort out while on holiday.
Today I am on the delivery date and so far I have only been informed of one package arriving - the replacement stair base rail. I checked the tracking for the missing package and at the moment it’s still at the depot according to DX the delivery company.
So far - not great. It seems their delivery company is letting them down. To be fair they have been quite helpful but it’s been loads of hassle so far.
I will update this review when more happens - hopefully i can increase the score!
UPDATE - after loads more faff I have now received the replacement for the damaged base rail which was very well packed indeed. And even though I wasn’t informed by DX they took the damaged one back in the same van. However the missing spindles and other item didn’t arrive as promised on the 25th and are still in the couriers depot. So I’m going to have to be in a third day to receive more goods - JWT are sending out another parcel with the missing spindles in but I’ve just found out they haven’t included the tool I also ordered so I’ve asked for a refund for that.
What a nightmare!! I don’t mind so much if something is faulty and they sort it out fast but this is getting ridiculous. I’ve lost count of the amount of emails and texts I’ve had about the delivery. Apparently they deal a lot with the trade but I’d be tearing my hair out if I was a joiner and having to deal with this mess!
The story continues.
Final update. 27/4/22
So after several phone calls, 44 emails back and forth, 4 deliveries (1 aborted) and 1 collection with JWT I have finally got most of my order in good condition and hopefully will be refunded for the tool that never arrived - going to buy locally as I can’t cope with any more hassle!
What a mess! Good products and actually well packed in the main but such a huge hassle getting it all sorted. Would I recommend? Maybe - if collecting then great, the products are a decent price and good quality but delivery - hmm, if it goes ok for you then you will be happy but if it doesn’t prepare for the long haul!!
BTW I haven’t had any offer of the delivery charge being refunded or anything like that.
Product wrong size. Redelivery failed to arrive.
Product wrong size due to website specification error. Replacement arranged. First delivery did not arrive due to an administrative error at Jacksons. New date arranged. Dispatch confirmation received but delivery did not turn up. Backlog in warehouse claimed as reason. Third date arranged but hopes of on time delivery not high. No compensation for two wasted days waiting for delivery offered. Be very wary of delivery date promises. Not a good experience so far.
Nice product but…
Nice product but…. Ordered a stair finial and was fitted by our carpenters then primed ready to paint. After 6 weeks the wood developed a large crack! Was offered a refund / replacement.
Very poor customer service- avoid. Ordered a few small parts through…
Ordered a few small parts through Amazon and realised I’d been charged twice for delivery ( £10). I notified the company straightaway. The parts did indeed arrive in one delivery so I asked for my refund if £5. Each time my emails were ignored. The only time they were answered was if they could give a fob off reply but never answered when they had to do anything proactive or helpful for the customer to rectify anything.
Avoid company because if anything isn’t straightforward, they won’t deal with it.
Excellent quality and really happy with the purchase
We have recently bought some oak staircase parts for a new staircase from Jackson Wood Turners. It came when they said it would and the quality is excellent. there were some problems with communication but when contacted over the phone they were very helpful and did exactly what they said they would do.
The cost was very competitive and we are very pleased with our new staircase. We have no hesitation in recommending Jackson Wood Turners.
Wrong part delivered
I placed an order instore after walking around with a member of the sales staff and showing them all the parts i wanted. At some point along the way they entered the wrong part number into the system, the problem is the part description "oak base rail 41mm grove" is the same desc as the one i wanted, but not the same part. Now they refuse to accept there mess up and will only correct it if i take all the incorrect parts back to store. I have no way to do that, and shouldn't have to pay for thier mistake.
Im sure they would be great if your order was right first time, but if you are unlucky enough to have an issue then don't expect any level of customer service.
stair spindles
self employed Joiner been buying from them for around a year quality and prices spot on can't buy locally for any less good selection off stair parts no hesitation reccomend them
Oak Elements Staircase with Black Iron Spindles
Placed an order on a bank holiday Friday to collect from the shop (not realizing the shop was a couple of hours drive away), the business got in touch on the morning of the following business day and noticed my postcode wasn't local so asked if I definitely wanted to collect. Glad they picked up on this as my order could've been sat waiting for collection! Staff were very easy to deal with and were really polite. Paying for delivery over the phone wasn't a hassle and also a good price for the size of the order I thought.
Everything arrived the next day which was fab! It was all was packaged really well and couldn't knock the quality. Cant wait to see it finished - slow going as its a DIY job done between work.
Goods arrived damaged
Order placed for pellets and hard wax oil. Prompt delivery but upon opening package discovered oil had leaked. Company emailed but very unsatisfactory reply received saying all was fine when package left them as they have cctv showing this. We paid £8.50 for shipping. No offer to take this up with their chosen delivery agents on our behalf. No offer to replace contents of package. We will not use this company again and so pleased we did not place a large order with them. Extremely poor customer service.
Ordered some dark hardwood to go with…
Ordered some dark hardwood to go with my chrome fittings. Intiatially good service but had problems treating the hardwood as it was unfinished and then problems with the fusion fittings not fitting properly, although I was told it would fit.
Raised these problems with the company who were very unempathtic and were not of much help.
Product looked good but had issues with it and after sales were not good hence low rating.
In response to the reply from JWT, I replied to everyone of the emails you sent me.

Well priced quality products.
As a company I've been using JWT for quite a few years.
Always good value and high quality products.
Only ever had one issue in 2017 where I had a piece of glass with an imperfection in (third party product) and was replaced/delivered within 48hrs to the job.
That's fantastic customer service!
Another order going in shortly, thanks again J
Online dealings with jackson woodturners
Despite ordering the wrong size item twice, jackson woodturners accepted and refunded the returns. They also helped me finally size the item correctly.
The delivery and quality of item was excellent. Customer service was patient with me and I would certainly recommend jackson woodturners to anyone.
Brilliant quality and service
Ordered my handrails and fittings on their website and quote a delivery date which was an easy process.Recieved a tracking email for my order this morning during an overnight delivery and the delivery was bang on.The packaging was amazing and safe,in bubble wrap and 2 large sealed cardboard tubes....perfect,with no chance of damage, and my handrails were pre-primed and top quality. The fittings...wall brackets, end caps etc were in a well sealed seperate box.
Thank you Jackson Woodturners for a professional experience and I would not hesitate to place an order with you again.......Cheers.....Steve
very easy company to work with
very easy company to work with , but you do have to have some building knowledge most bad reviews are from people that are not in construction.
this is not wicks or b&q they are woodturners, a staircase is a big investment and should never be rushed,
I would use again and recommend,
Excellent service, at a good price
I ordered from Jackson Woodturners as I couldn't find stock locally, and the online price was better than elsewhere. I spoke once with their customer service team, who were really helpful and friendly. The delivery arrived on the expected date, and the packaging was excellent - not excessive, but with a lot of effort to ensure nothing was damaged. All in all, an excellent service.
Very helpful and keen prices
Being quite local to me I collected the stair parts which were dispensed very quick and a good price and quality
This being good in itself I happened by accident to lock my car keys, wallet and phone inside the car, when informing the staff of my predicament they couldn’t be more helpful (despite being very busy) and for this I can’t praise them enough
a horrendous company!!
a horrendous company to deal with.
Had to chase and chase and chase to get a quote. Then after the quote I wanted to pay for it and had to chase for that, sending a email asking 'do you want payment??'
What was quoted was inaccurate and only one part was sent even though we had numerous emails requesting more parts.
They sent one stair post that was priced at £190 plus vat I was charged over £300. I thought it was a mismtake till I found out they charged £80 delivery, which is outrageous!
BUYERS BEWARE, utterly incompetent joke of a company that will leave you with a bitter taste in your mouth after being ripped off also!!!
Edit - replying to the reply.
I had to edit as what you have replied is utter nonsense and blatant lies.
We were charged £190 + vat for one stair post and were charged £312. When we spoke to one of your staff we asked how on earth did it amount to £312 and if over £80 was delivery and were told yes!!! So either your staff are incompetent like stated, can't add up or you have completely made up the so called £20 delivery charge. If its a mistake then I would like a refund!
I wasn't sent a invoice after my payment, but then after dealing with your company that is too much to ask for i suppose.
Although I do have emails stating the post was £190 plus vat. Shall I upload them here so your lies are plain to see for other potential buyers (mugs).
I didn't slate the time you took to make the post. I stated the fact it had taken weeks and weeks and weeks in correspondence. Even getting you to take payment took over a week. I had to send 2 emails asking 'do you want my business and payment and was told on about 3 occasions someone would phone me back to take payment.
You are a joke of a company and God only knows how you are still in business when you treat customers like dirt and take them for mugs!!

Ordered from JWT for new spindles
Ordered from JWT for new spindles, base rail handrail etc and all as expected, at a decent price. I did do two separate orders.
The first order I did not receive any confirmation and could only loosely recall a date. On calling the person was very helpful and advised on the date but did say it may be moved out. I had no problem with that and the goods arrived the following day with no problems.
The second delivery I created an account on the website and was kept up to date automatically and there were no problems at all.
Thank you for good quality parts and I personally would recommend.
I place an order of £610
I place an order of £610, they took 3 payments £1830,
they have not sent me an invoice and they are not answering the phone. They have clearly stopped trading and ripping people off. do not use them

Great service
Great service . There was a problem with delivery and I had to phone to chase this but the lady ( Deborah , I think) was lovely and did her best to sort it. When it arrived I’d ordered the wrong size spindles and it wasn’t a problem at all to exchange . Would certainly recommend them.
