Site does not work in Cyprus

The Jaquie lawson does not work in Cyprus, even though I have paid my subscription. I can't receive or send cards. I have used this service for years, I will not be renewing.

The calendar was incredibly boring and…

The calendar was incredibly boring and nothing really happened apart from people walking along the pathways and a few cars going past. I hoped each day something would improve but it didn’t, and as for the choices of fabric in your own room on the furniture, well that was a horror story. Absolutely dreadful pattern choices of material. The activities were the same as in previous years. I won’t be buying another calendar but will use my previous years as they were so much fun.

Not fit for purpose

Paid subscription for a year but could not work out how to send a card. Cancelled subscription now but total waste of £24 as I was not able to send a single card! No help at all except a section which does not explain. I would suggest you give this one a miss.

Really poor advent calendar

Really poor advent calendar. I have purchased the advent calendars for the last 5 years and look forward to them each year- this year was the same old things, nothing new and nothing exciting. Your ‘room’ doesn’t change, there’s no new interactive things in the room. It was by far the worst one I’ve had. If I had brought this from a local shop I would be returning it for a refund. I hate to be negative, but this was such a let down. Sorry I won’t be bothering with these in future.

Ugly and disappointing Advent calendar 2025

The Advent Calendar based on a model house village was a considerable disappointment to me. I was so impressed by the previous Paris, Edwardian and Nordic calendars, even the Sussex one was good. This year, for me at least, seeing the countryside blotted out by dark and ugly Gothic buildings was a negative experience. The animals and birds gradually disappearing did, as someone else has pointed out, feel like a dark fable of over-development. I really disliked the aesthetic. The scene felt quite constricted and by Christmas it was jumbled and visually uncomfortable, with skaters (repurposed over and over since the Nordic calendars) jostling for attention with passers by. It was dislocating to see characters who featured in the Paris streets bizarrely shoehorned into the café. A disaster, then, for the artistic design. For the interest and imagination, I loved seeing the shop game, last seen in the Edinburgh calendar? I enjoyed the snowball fight, which was new and fun, but everything else seemed stale. And did anyone else notice the loss of the teddy bears? They fitted in well with the slightly twee videos, and I missed them. The trouble is, doing country scenes every other year is bound to get repetitive and stale, whereas calendars based on a real location - apart from the awful London version- offer much more interest. My complete favourite remains the Edinburgh calendar, where such good use was made of the location, and the Paris one. I hope the company who bought out Lawson make more effort next year.

Really poor advent calendar for 2025

Really poor advent calendar for 2025. Other years you have been able to click on the village Christmas tree to change the decorations and lights, click on lights around the village to change them, click on house windows and see toys and pets go into action (cf. Sussex advent calendar). This year, nothing at all. And the cottage is really boring. Yes, you can change the chairs, etc., but the games are the same as last year, and the year before that, etc. And the same music. Get something different.

I sent them an email about the London advent calendar which has stopped working - no response. That one was REALLY good.

Jacquie Lawson quality review

Since the sale of Jacquie Lawson; this company has gone straight down hill. The prices have risen; old cards are wonderful but BUT the advent calendar is a complete waste of money. It used to be a pleasure giving this to friends and family. Now: the puzzles are unuseable and the village itself: deadly dull. The company is absolutely unresponsive to any inquiries or complaints - their only interest is in getting your cash.

I will cancel my subscription (half used) in the New Year. If anyone knows of a decent online Advent Calendar, please post that info here for all of us who are abandoning this one as garbage.

Very disappointed

After years of being a loyal subscriber, I'm now very, very disappointed with this website. I tried several times to select, complete & send multiple cards, but it kept failing & displayed a dialogue box with message:
"Sorry, video load error, please reload the page and try again"
I wasted so much time having to restart from the beginning numerous times & on different devices, I gave up in the end. I'll send Whats App messages instead. So I won't renew as it's now totally unreliable!!

Servers unable to handle the Christmas rush

I recently renewed my membership and signed up for another two years, now I see perhaps this was a mistake.

With a service like the one they provide, it will obviously be very much more busy at Christmas than other times of the year. It looks like their systems are not designed to handle temporary peaks in traffic. Their system became completely unusable, I tried about 6 or 7 times to send a card before I gave up.

Fortunately this year I received a card from an outfit called "Dont Send Me a Card" a competitor to Jacquie Lawson. I gave them a try and it worked perfectly. Their cards might not have the cute look of the Jacquie Lawson cards their system works and it includes a donation to charity.

I'm a happy long time user

I really can't understand where all these negative reviews have come from. I have been using Jacquie Lawson Cards online for over 10 years. I have never had any issues and certainly have never had any aggressive pushing as to purchase the product when I've been sent cards by other people.
The cards are really beautiful and have lots of options for greetings and some alternative music.
I've never had issues with renewing my membership and always get a notification when people have reviewed my cards.
I like the fact that I can email friends & family from my stored address book in the app, as well as put cards directly on friends pages on Facebook or copy the link to send cards via WhatsApp.
As far as I'm concerned this is and has always been a fabulous company for ecards and advent calendars.

Something very wrong at Jacquie Lawson cards

I have used Jackie Lawson for years to send ecards.

Due to illness and other reasons, I wasn't able to send cards this year until today, Christmas Eve.

Every time this evening I tried to get onto the website from my laptop I kept getting a message "blocked".

When I tried on my mobile, I got onto the website, but then when I tried to log on I got a message "internal server error".

Then I got a message that my email or password were wrong (both were correct), and that I should reset my password.

When I clicked on "reset your password" I got another message saying there was an internal server error.

This is just unacceptable. I am a paid up subscriber, and all the people I need to send cards to are saved on the Jacquie Lawson website.

I have no idea what is wrong, and I can't even get onto the website to contact them.

2025 Advent calendar

Like many others on this site, I too have purchased the 2025 Advent calendar for myself and for my daughter. The calendar is disappointing for all the reasons others have listed. Mine has worked fine. Hers quit working after day 5. I have messaged them Dec 6 via their Facebook page. I finally got a response after 4 days stating they are short staffed and people were sick. Not really my problem. Fast forward to today Dec 23, and her calendar is still not fixed. They keep saying she needs to log into her account and download the replacement. Firstly, she doesn’t have the account, I do. I see the replacement calendar under my name. They said the email address had an error in it or was the wrong one. I suspect from the circular discussions we had ,they are getting the two of us mixed up. Assigning my name with her email. They also kept saying they had issued a refund. To date,I don’t see it. The original card I used to purchase had to be reissued due to it being involved in a scam. I have updated my card info on their site. They insisted that the refund has to be issued to the original payment method and I had to chase down the payment with my bank!! I replied that I wasn’t chasing $10 and promptly canceled my auto renewal. I will use other greeting card online companies. Their customer service is indeed abysmal.

Jacquie Lawson cards are all about selling subscriptions

A friend sent me a Jacquie Lawson ecard. The notice included an access code. I tried multiple times but always ended up at a place that required me to $ subscribe. I downloaded the app but the experience was the same. Sell! Sell! Sell! I deleted the app. (Buyer beware: I think my friend got cheated!)

Steer clear.

I used this company a year or two ago and decided to sign up again a few days ago. Paid the fee and decided to send some e cards. Every single time I try to log in I get the "e mail or password not correct" message. They ARE correct! Its impossible to get in touch with them and I'm sick of having to create a new password every time i want to send a card. Didn't realise how poor others found them too. Will leave well alone next year and will not recommend to anyone.

I have emailed the so called helpline…

I have emailed the so called helpline on the 7th, 10th 17th and 22nd of December and am still waiting for a reply.
Payment in 2024 was not recognised untill too late for the birtday and christmas period of that year.
The payment date was later agreed by the company to be their mistake and the expiry date was extended to cover 2025 christmas period.
This year the same thing has happened and I was not able to use my account, hence the 4 x unanswered emails.

Short-changed

I bought the 2025 Advent calendar as a gift for a few people only to find that at least one of the recipients when she clicked on the daily Christmas bauble just told her that instead of seeing the day's item, told her that she would have to sign in (she doesn't have an account) or pay to see the item. I emailed the company with no response. I paid a lot of money to them for these gifts.
Additionally, how on earth they came up with the monotonous dirge of a carol 'Sylvian joululaulu-Topelius/callan! It is nauseating .

The worst one so far

I have bought the Advent calendar every year since they started and this year is by far and away the most disappointing.
Before opening I thought the idea of building a village would be a good one, but in fact it is dull, dull, dull.
I miss the daily opening of a surprise in the central building, this year a cottage, where the only new thing each day is the building appearing on a shelf.
This also means that you have to remember where the games are in the village if you want to go back and play again, instead of being able to find them in one place. I would gladly sacrifice being able to do puzzles and games before 1st December to have them gradually introduced throughout the month. I have stopped bothering to visit the cottage on a daily basis.
The jigsaws this year are really small, and the background colour makes it hard to see the shape of the pieces. I have stopped bothering on my phone.
The Santa game remains addictive and the snowball fight is also fun. The other old favourites are all there, thank goodness.
All in all I am glad that I reset last year's calendar, as it is way more interesting.

Another disappointed customer

I'm adding my voice to those disappointed in JLs 2025 calendar. Perhaps it's been generated by AI that was told "Do something like past years". An uninspired offering, and repetitive music from prior years' calendars. I hope that the American Greetings people take note, and put more creative effort into the 2026 edition.
