Such a disappointment

Such a disappointment. In the past, there were daily gifts in the cottage, things to do, good videos, etc. Not so this year. On Day 16 (today), there were hints of an interesting stable, but it turned out to be a memory card game. No video. No horses. Nothing! So dull. Big let down. The entire 2025 calendar is a let down. I’ve been buying this now for over 10 years for myself and family, and friends. This year, no one wanted it - only my sister and I - and every morning we say, “What a disappointment.” I dont get it because the art work is still good, but the team got soooo lazy and skipped so much. Example: after decorating the cottage, there is NOTHING to do in that house. Even the dog and cats look bored. I’ll reconsider buying next year. Skimping on a good product doesn't make you money; you lose it, Jacquie.

The advent calendars are usually good...

The Jacquie Lawson advent calendars are typically splendid - even a joy to look forward to as December approaches. But there's a disconnect with 2025's Christmas Village offering, sadly.

The novelty of building a part of the festive scene each day soon wore off. That was exchanged with viewing a drab and somewhat gloomy village background. As the days passed, thankfully colour and brightness slowly took over.

You can interact with the village clock. That's been a feature in previous years but nice it's been kept. But where are the others? I recall decorations you could change or bushes amended with lights or otherwise. Bar the clock and daily baubles there seem to be no festive Easter eggs.

The village is awash with wildlife. Click on an animal and it will fly, run, make a noise or combination of. It's a nice touch but hasn't that been done before? Same goes for the daily Elves which need to be found. But they really should hide better. Opening the calendar on a new day to find the Elf staring right back at you is poor.

The games are fun. They've been done before but still fun. Some new games would have helped - or perhaps they shall in the coming days? The daily videos are cute and festive but I find lack punch or anything new. A few are uninspiring, sadly.

The JL calendars have always been great festive fun. But 2025's is lacklustre. Yes, I will get 2026's but it cannot be another poor offering - else I shall cease buying for myself and family members.

I have had been with Jacqui Lawson for…

I have had been with Jacqui Lawson for years. I have always been able to send and receive cards from anywhere in the world. This year however I could not even get into the site. I had ACCESS DENIED come up. Took me ages to find a way to contact the company. Then simply told not available in Cyprus at the moment where I was. Why??? I have noit had any notification of countries now denied access.
But I am now starting to recieve Jacqui Lawson cards from others. However when I click the link to view I have ACCESS DENIED come up. So it is highly likely that people sending them have no idea that I am unable to view, and simply get the normal notification that card has been sent. People are paying for a service that does not work.
A list of all countries now DENIED ACCESS to send and recieve cards woulds be helpful, to save people wasting their time.

Client NO MORE

I have used JLawson.com for years -- however, after just being "auto-renewed" to the tune of $62. I am thoroughly upset after trying to go on-line and send a simple Bday card and finding, it can no longer be done simply. The simple method has been replaced by some completely confusing method whereby it was impossible to acqurie the card I wanted for the the person I wanted to send to the address I wanted. I finally gave up. And a contact link--NOT available. Okay, I'm done with Jacquie Lawson -- they can have my $62 but I'll go elsewhere for my ecards where I don't have to read an instruction bookklet to send a simple Bday card. JL--you are too interested in selling product and bringing in money--the client doesn't matter anymore.

Too Many Hoops to Jump Through

Ridiculous number of steps & problems..major time waster to get this to work & data collection. Wants to totally review your operating system and update all the files. Do they think this site is so great that people are willing to spend all day getting it to function? This the opposite of "Working Out of the Box". It should just run in a browser..period.

This year's calendar is a huge disappointment

This year's calendar is a disappointment in contrary to previous years. Every day I am waiting for features like every days little gifts to open or different board games. Also the country home look so narrowly packed wirb a big armchair in the foreground, which one is declined to push out of the way, but can't. And the variety of colours are dull and not bight and shiny. Even the lights are too dark dull. Because of the electricity bill? How come? How is it possible that the designers not see it themselves? Has the entire team changed or is it not the original JL anymore?

A huge disappointment

So very disappointed at the lack of effort in this year's Advent Calendar. We bought it for family members and are hugely disappointed. No real excitement when opening the cottage, where previously new 'gifts' and challenges would appear every day leading up to Christmas. The same old scenes. We won't be bothering next year as they simply aren't bothering about their audience. Very sad.

I enjoyed the 2024 advent calendar much more.

Last year was my first time purchasing the Jacquie Lawson advent calendar and I really enjoyed it. It was pretty, had lots of things to look at and the activities were fun. I was excited to get this year; 2025. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with the Christmas Village. I find it to be boring, with not a lot to look at, and the games are rather boring. Last year, the elves we had to find were rather challenging and this year they are very easy to find and not much fun. I really like Jacquie Lawson and I'm disappointed about this year's advent calendar.

Access Denied.

I have a paid subscription and have had for several years. I tried to send my sister a Christmas card and had my access denied. I cannot even get onto the site. How am I supposed to access their customer help, if I can even view the site? How can I ask for a refund for the unused portion of my subscription? Whom should I report this to?

Disappearing wildlife

The idea of building up the village day by day is fine, but there's collateral damage: one by one, the lovely (clickable) animals - turtle doves, robins, foxes, rabbits, ducks and so forth - have disappeared, as the landscape is gradually walled and railed in for smiling humans. Perhaps this is subtle ecological point-making from JL, but it is bleak and depressing for an advent calendar meant to lift the spirits. However, Kitten and Puppy animations in the "puzzle room" are the best ever.

Oh Dear ! what a disappointment....

Having bought the past few years Advent calendars for family and friends and myself I was SO disappointed with this years Village theme. It is not of the same quality , colours are muted and the graphics are just not quite right. Nothing new or interesting /fun to explore. I will be pretty reluctant to buy again and I have to say feedback from family is the same. They are all disappointed! I do hope JL reads this and does something to improve things for next Christmas.

Disappointed

I am disappointed with the 2025 Advent Calendar. For some reason all the dates and the star have disappeared from view and I can only access each day through Activities. I have sent an e-mail but so far have had no response. There isn't much new each day - no presents to open each day like last year.

Jaquie Lawson Experience

We have been big fans of the overall aesthetic of the
'Jaquie Lawson' experience for many years. Paris was a truly "tre bien".
However, this year is so dissapointing with very limited content and so much repeated from last year.
It is regrettable, but extremely doubtful that we will continue to use this, previously superb experience.

Very poor customer support

Very poor customer support. Our Advent calendar is again causing problems. It has been activated allowing limited access. However when trying to login a message says ‘no record of purchase against this email’ We sent a message to Jacqui Lawson on the 3rd December and several since. No reply no help. What should have been a pleasant experience, DESTROYED. Never again.

Disappointing 2025 Christmas Village Advent Calendar…

2025 Christmas Village Advent Calendar is disappointing for us die-hard subscribers. Jacqui Lawson has taken away the joy of going to your personalized home room - nothing new here! No presents! And the elves - so lame. They were fun when they sat on the shelf in your room, but now they are a quick find and then disappear into the ether! It just feels like the designers have taken short cuts leaving us disappointed. I purchased 4 calendars - 1 for myself and 3 for family.

Like a knock-off version of a real Jacquie Lawson calendar

I have sent and received Jacquie Lawson advent calendars for years. This year's calendar is dreadful compared to previous editions and far more expensive. The cottage interior is ugly and has stayed the same since day one. The village isn't at all interesting and just seems like a cliched idea of various Christmas scenes cobbled together. There are no daily surprises, hardly any games, and it all feels recycled, twee and like a cheap version of a true Jacquie Lawson calendar. I had trouble downloading it - it seems like a different process to previous years? - and customer service was very poor. All in all, a very disappointing experience and don't think I'll buy again.
