Two pieces of clothing shipped from an auction. For the price I expected them to shipped properly folded, tissue wrapped etc. Instead they arrive screwed up in an old cardboard box. Will not be using them again,

I bid and won 6 novelty lightweight clocks from Stacey's Auctions, costing only £150 net. The clocks could easily have been bubble wrapped and placed in one box weighing under 10Kgs. UPS and Fedex etc charge only £10 for anything under 10KGs. Jentel wanted £144 to pick up and post to me! I suggest that if you buy from and auction house, obtain a shipping price first. Never again will I contact Jentel!

As other contributors have mentioned charging a £6 fee prior to providing an estimate as they are a small family run firm. Even when this is paid their quote seems to be picked out of the sky/think of the 1st figure that comes to mind, and when challenged to give a breakdown eg Collection cost = £, packing cost =£ and finally shipping courier and shipping cost =£ they (daniel) reply is " we dont do detailed breakdown of costs", so not a very professional outfit. My requirements for 1.5kg boxed ceramic item 24cm from auction quoted at £102. I try to advise auction houses that recommend jentel to advise customers of the upfront charge.

Jentel's website has a tab to "request a Quote" - I duly did this for a item I am bidding on at auction - BUT I emailed JELTEL PACKING today to deliver it to my home addres.. Within a short some I received this message from CLARE in their Admin Office to say they will NOT quote now unless a SIX POUNDS PAYMENT IS MADE FIRST – that’s before they will even LOOK at a quote!!!! This is a disgrace and I wonder if they really want the business??? My advice is to avoid these people like the plague – Quotes should NOT be paid for in advance - even if refunded if a quote is accepted!!! See their email below:

Due to the influx of pre sale estimates we are getting and the fact we are only a small family firm we are now having to start charging for pre sale quotations. Memo to Clare: "This is 2025, Clare, Hello(!!) 'Small Family Business' you may be - Do you want the business, or not? Doesn't sound like you do??? NO competitors ask for payment upfront. Total disgrace! If I could have given less than one star, I would have!

I purchased an antique clock from Woolley and Wallace. It was wrapped in thin bubble, laid in some packing peanuts, and shipped in the flimsiest box I have ever seen. Of course this 150 year old clock deserved to be crated and shipped properly. “Terry,” who was responsible for this “packing, “
either doesn’t know how to pack or couldn’t care less. The result is a totally destroyed clock. What a shame. These guys clearly do not know how to ship I would avoid it all costs.

I had the misfortune of instructing gentle packing to pick up two lots I won at auction without getting a pre-quote BIG MISTAKE took them 10 days to pick the items up from the auction they never let me know that it was collected until i phoned them up and then they tried to tell me that they'd emailed and phoned me to let me know they picked it up as I never gave them no email address and I never had any missed calls from them? Then then inform me that my one box will cost £72 which I feel is a total rip-off as I use couriers services across the country and never been charged that price for a single box then to top it all off once I paid reluctantly they inform me that it's going to be between 10 to 14 days delivery thought I was paying for a premium service at that cost but turns out I'm paying for snail mail the only other delivery service I hold on par with this one is evri do yourself a favour avoid like the plague as I will not be using their service in the future

My picture was packaged so well! It is an oil painting c1890 and I was concerned it might be damaged. I need not have worried. It arrived in perfect condition! Every care had been taken and it’s the best packed picture I’ve had sent to me- there have been many. I trust this company and will use again.

Everything you could hope for with a packing and delivery service; excellent communication (by email for me), well packaged item (watercolour at distant auction for me), delivery by company van during the afternoon as agreed. Thank you for great service.

With Years of Dealing in Rare Porcelain and in the past used many Different Companies. Once Things are Shipped it is out of the Packers Hands.. Many Companies don't seem to Care, but with Jentel Packing that is NOT the Case, I have Used this Company for Years and I Honestly Can't Fault them. My Items arrive Safely and with 24hr Tracking.. The Service that you get from the minute you send an Enquiry until the Goods arrive with you is Faultless! Thanks Again, John McShane

Very helpful and responsive to enquiries - due to a mix up with booking (on my end, no fault of theirs) I couldn't proceed with them but based off the service via email I received from Clare and Daniel I will definitely consider JenTel for my future shipping needs from UK-AU. Enquiry was regarding collection, packing and sending of items from auction house to overseas.

Competitively priced and complied with fairly complex delivery instructions to the letter. My consignment was suitably and securely packaged to a very high standard.

I used Jentel for shipping and was very disappointed. After three weeks of waiting I rang them to complain that I had never had to wait that long for an item. Most arrive within ten days, and they gave me every excuse under the sun for their slow delivery time. They are expensive to use and so I expect a premium service at their rates, their insurance is also expensive.
There is one saving grace with their service and that is my item was packed to a very high standard and although my box arrived battered and bruised my item was still safe.
Delivery times need to be improved.

I won a medically prepared skull on a stand at auction on Saleroom, and needed to find a good shipper.

Jentel Packing did an absolutely incredible job, wrapping the medical skull in tissue paper, then bubble wrap, and a huge amount of packing peanuts.
Absolutely incredible work which ensure this delicate object made it to me safely.

I will definitely be using them again.

JenTel have collected half a dozen items from auction houses, packed them and delivered them to me. The quality of the work that they do is excellent and their reliability beyond reproach. Highly recommended

JenTel collected, packed and shipped a consignment of fragile antique photographic glass plates to my father in Lincolnshire and did a superb job - everything was brilliantly well packaged and arrived safe and sound in good time and for a reasonable price. Very pleased and we'll certainly use JenTel again.

Unlike, it would seem, a number of other reviewers, I realised that I was buying from an auction house and not Amazon, therefore my expectations were perhaps more realistic. I contacted 3 recommended shippers and Jentel, although slightly more expensive, eplained fully about collection, packing queues and delivery. My Les Paul guitar purchase was collected, packed expertly and arrived as agreed in perfect condition. I would recommend Jentel as they do know what they are doing, they pack diligently and they communicate politely and are helpful. You pay for a full service not just postage.

Provided a quote quickly. The painting was very professionally packaged and delivered in perfect condition. Helpful staff, all emails answered quickly. Will definitely use again.

50 PERCENT GIVE JENTEL ONE STAR. THESE THIEVES got me last year. They wanted crazy storage prices and were unwilling to be remotely reasonable. They have carefully scripted excuses for all of the complaints instead of realizing they are the problem, not the CUSTOMER.
