I wish to point out that this review is specific to the Liverpool branch dealing with Family Law.
Do not waste your time or money using this firm for Family Law matters. It was the worst mistake I made during the divorce process and I made many!
They’re completely useless and achieved absolutely nothing of merit. They’re good at filing paperwork for the Court but that’s about it. If you need strong support or representation, forget it.
With the extortionate fees, you’d expect them to offer the best advice and deliver the best service. I might as well have not bothered and, instead, acted as a litigant-in-person; I think my case would have been more successful.
I’m now over £4K lighter with absolutely nothing to show for it. Probably the worst value for money service for anything that I’ve ever used in my entire life.
In common with all solicitors, particularly those practicing in Family Law, they are over-paid, over-rated for what they achieve and despite claiming to have vast experience in the field, display a severe lack of sympathy with clients who are experiencing one of the most challenging situations of their lifetime. A better ‘bedside manner’ would go a long way in helping clients navigate their way through, but even this is lacking. Communications are often brusque.
I’m obviously in the wrong game as they seem to be able to make huge amounts of money for doing very little. IMO it’s about time all solicitors were paid on an outcome basis, and not according to the amount of time spent as they can invoice for numerous hours (minutes) of work with zero satisfactory outcome for the client. I can’t think of one other industry in which this is the case.

Abiola and Irmak were extremely helpful with my property transaction. They were always responsive and worked closely with the estate agent and seller's solicitors to get the transaction completed ahead of schedule. I always felt confident in the advice they gave. Would definitely recommend.

Don’t fall for the speed of response and helpfulness when you ask for an initial quote - from formally signing the forms to use them as conveyancers, for 3 weeks I didn’t hear from a single person even though the estate agent and we chased multiple times. Never heard back again from anyone and had to go with another solicitor (who is amazing and so helpful and shocked by our experience with JMW!)

Words don’t adequately express the difference that working with Laura (Roche) has made.
The advice, professionalism and communication have all been excellent. However what made the real difference was that we knew Laura cared, when we had queries or concerns she listened, took us seriously and found answers. When we were confused she clarified things and when we needed to do something she was really clear. Laura was always, always helpful, responsive and knowledgeable.

If your immigration status is linked to a business, Gemma Tracey is the person to call. She successfully secured Indefinite Leave to Remain for us, and I recommend her without hesitation.

Ours was a highly complex case. The application depended on a company with a multi-layered corporate structure, multiple entities, cross-border ownership, and a documentary trail spanning several jurisdictions.

What sets Gemma apart is her ability to understand both sides of the challenge. While many advisers can recite the Rules, very few can analyse a set of accounts, map out a group structure, grasp the commercial rationale behind a business setup, and translate all of that into the precise language a caseworker needs to see.

She was also incredibly easy to work with. Her responses were prompt, clear, and jargon-free, and she never made us feel that any query was too trivial. She met tight deadlines proactively, remaining calm even when we were anxious.

After almost two years of back-and-forth with the Home Office, we achieved a successful outcome. If your immigration position is bound up with a business, she is the professional you need.
