My car was booked in for a recall issue. Sufficient reminders sent out prior to appointment date and was kept informed of the progress throughout. Nice and friendly staff.

Too expensive
My air conditioning wasn’t working as good as it should be and when it was last serviced I was advised to have it serviced. JT Hughes quoted me £149 for this. I tried to contact them to book in but the phone was never answered. I had it done yesterday at another garage for £45 for just the gas to be replaced and an extra £10 for the pollen filter to be replaced. They did it whilst I waited and it only took a hour. £94 saving

One star, one star too many.
I tried to book my car in for some work. The website is pretty useless and allows you to select if you want a full service, level one service, Air conditioning service or a MOT. I didn’t want any of these, I wanted a quote for something else. There’s no where on the website where you can contact them and send a message or find a e-mail address. It shows phone numbers but this isn’t much use as I work nights and it makes it difficult for me. I did try to call twice but no one answered the phone. For a company not to have a e-mail address or a call back contact form is pretty poor these days. I contacted another dealer by e-mail and they replied within the hour.

If there was an option to rate 0 stars I would. We had reserved a car last Saturday to come and view it the following Monday evening, only to be rang up Monday morning saying the car had just been sold and paid for in full without anyone coming to view it. What was the point in reserving the car to come and view before purchasing in cash if it could be sold anyway? Horrible customer service, badly run sales team, will never be purchasing a car from here and I will never be recommending to anyone.

The worst car garage of all time!!!
If there was an option to give no stars at all that would have been my choice.
Unless you’re buying a brand spanking new car or a car on motability. In which case the red carpets will be rolled out and staff will cater for your every need. If like us you want a second hand car. Don’t for a second waste your precious time and money. If buying a used car you’re in for a very bumpy ride.
Customer service is absolutely disgusting. No care whatsoever. Staff are rude, unprofessional and completely laid back, unless your paying money. Head office are exactly the same as we thought complaining to them would actually help. No, not even close!!
From day one of owing our used car we’ve had an ordeal and a half. Car was in poor condition for sale. We were unaware of the series of issues about to unfold. Car was regularly back to the garage for various repairs. One major repair and a few other issues. At first they were accommodating but very soon refused to complete any further repairs and stopped responding to us. Had to keep ringing around ourselves.
They will not fix the multiple issues we have with the car. Complaints to them directly are futile. So are having to seek other agencies at the moment. We are escalating our case.
Will never purchase a single thing from any of their garages, ever again. Have managed to warn other friends and family of our experience and will keep on doing so forever!!

A huge disappointment
As a young couple living together, my partner and I decided to take the next step and get a car together. After lots of research, we decided that a Hyundai Kona would be the best choice for us. Amy at Hyundai Shrewsbury was amazing—so friendly—and took us for a test drive. Unfortunately, it all went downhill from here.
Amy pushed us to pay a deposit that day, even after we made it clear that this was a big decision and we needed time to think. It was suggested to us that their deposit wasn't a full commitment and only held the car, and that if we decided to change our minds, we could get the money back. We handed over £500 that day, and Amy advised us she would reserve the car.
Much to our dismay, we got turned down for finance. However, Amy said we could likely get an older car and asked us to leave the deposit with her until she found something more suitable. She assured us that if we changed our minds, the deposit would be refunded. We trusted Amy and agreed.
Communication pretty much ended from this point. We found ourselves having to call more and more frequently to find out the status of the new/old car. Eventually, we found out it was blue, and Amy asked us to come in and sign the paperwork. I may be young, but I'm not naive, and I was clear that I didn't want to sign anything until I had seen the car—especially since all I knew about the car was that it was blue. Personally, I don't feel comfortable making such a big commitment with no information. So I called again and asked for photos and the specifications.
A week later, and after many calls from us to Amy, we received five photos of the car—one of the outside and four of the interior. Amy became rude and often ended the phone calls abruptly when we held our ground regarding the paperwork. I feel I should also mention that Amy pushed us to sell our current car as soon as possible, which we did—leaving us without a car and £500 worse off.
We explained to Amy that we understood car sales don’t happen overnight. However, she had had our deposit for two weeks by now, had hardly communicated with us, and now we didn’t have a car. We were anxious to know how long it would be until we could view the car. She danced around the subject and eventually put the phone down on us again.
Disheartened by our experience, we went to Hyundai Gloucester, as we saw a car online. They were very helpful, extremely good with their communication, and kept us informed throughout every step of the process—exactly how buying a car should feel. We rang Amy to let her know that we had gone in a different direction, as we needed the car to get to work, and asked that the deposit be refunded. She informed us that the accountants would be in on Monday and abruptly put the phone down on us again.
I understand that losing a sale must be disappointing; however, the lack of communication and putting the phone down didn’t feel professional and didn't fill us with confidence. On Monday, fed up, we went to Hyundai Shrewsbury in person. Amy told us she was with a customer and asked us to call later to discuss the deposit. We asked that it be sorted face-to-face and that we were happy to speak to anyone about it. Amy told us to take a seat in the waiting room.
After waiting for a while, we decided to go to the manager of Hyundai Shrewsbury so we could end this whole ordeal. The manager of Hyundai was very unwelcoming and started the conversation by telling my partner and me, "I know exactly who you are, and you're not getting your deposit back." My partner spent 45 minutes in the office with this extremely unprofessional man. Eventually, the manager told him that he would get his money back because we "had him on a technicality" and stated that he "didn't want to give the money back." The "technicality" in which he referred to is more commonly known as the law. It is understandable that he didn’t want to lose £500—who would? Safe to say, we can relate!
He advised us he would email us to confirm the agreement for the refund that day. This unsurprisingly did not happen, and we had to return again the next day. Our final experience at Hyundai Shrewsbury was finally being refunded the money by Amy, who stayed true to her character—blunt and disinterested.
Finally, it was over. The stress Hyundai Shrewsbury caused us has been awful, and I would not wish it upon anyone. My advice: Avoid Shrewsbury like the plague and take the trip to Gloucester.

I brought a car from JT Hughes Hyundai…
I brought a car from JT Hughes Hyundai back in August. After a week or so of having the car there was an awful knocking sound when braking. The car went back in September to have this issue rectified. They told me the brakes needed realigning ( baring in mind the brake pads and discs had just been changed ). I picked up the vehicle when the above issue was ‘apparently’ rectified, the car was squealing when driving and the knocking was also back. The car went back in again December again I’ve been given a car back that still hasn’t been fixed and has so many issues they can’t seem to sort out. I’m now having to take my car to a different garage to actually get the issue sorted due to going back and forth so many times! I was also told by a sales rep that her car squealed and this was normal. They are just no help after taking your money and I would never buy a car from them again.

The service you receive from front line staff is amazing, and they wash and vacuum the car afterwards, really ! that alone is £8-10 anywhere
I would highly recommend them for their after sales care, in fact I have this year been into Mercedes, Ford and others and not been so well treated.
I have just received a "video" from JT Hughes showing what has been done to the car, this is a first for me, if you were ever concerned about what garages do when they have your car in, this is AMAZING.

I cannot praise the professionalism & helpfulness of this company enough. Closed on Sundays
Very disappointed, myself and my wife went to look for a new car on Sunday and we visited 5 dealers. We visited JT Hughes in Shrewsbury and they were closed. I spoke to a salesman called Paul on the Wednesday and I said we would visit on the weekend. At no point did he mention that the business is not open on a Sunday.
