DO NOT BOOK THE NEWCASTLE SITE

Booked last year to visit Newcastle, booked the Jurys Inn which now is Leonardo Hotel. I had the absolute worst service possible. I travelled from the Midlands so it took me over 7hrs via coach, i arrival early at around 6am, on arrival I asked Aditia(Night manager) if any day rooms were available so i could rest and she stated 'yes', so i booked one, as you can't check in to a day room till after 9am i went sightseeing and coming back around 10am on arrival i was told that no days rooms are available on a Sunday and that Aditia gave me incorrect information (they could've easily called me to let me know as my details were on the booking). I waited in the reception area till around 12.30pm asking if any rooms were available at all, as the day room was already paid for and I was advised that my room would be available at 4pm but they would see what they could do. I asked again an hour later and only to be told by Brian would abruptly stated they cancelled my whole reservation and to find another hotel. I was angry, tired and annoyed at this point to receive such poor service. It really let the hotel down knowing that such rude staff can cancel reservations at anytime. I was left stranded searching for another hotel.
Luckily I found the Holiday Express about 4 minutes away and they wete amazing, checked my in straight away and even got free breakfast for the 3 days I stayed. I would seriously recommend staying away from the Leonardo Hotel Newcastle

Use this hotel group for many nights…

Use this hotel group for many nights out in newcastle upon tyne. Lovely friendly staff always helpfull,
Rooms are comfortable and very clean, only thing I don't like is the lack of usb points as only option is to charge anything through the TV port if you forget your phone adapter. When it's a last minute visit and you don't always want to carry around an adapter plug or have to go out and buy another 1. 1 socket just needs an update.
Other hotels I use nearby have this, this group needs to modernise its room sockets.

Wakas the boss man!

Booked a room for the weekend for my birthday, hotel is lovely staff fab. Room wasn’t the best and price we paid for the weekend it was disappointing. We checked in at 3, dumped our bags and went out as it was my birthday. Came home at 10.30 and realised no hot water, bed was broke and bed side plug wasn’t working (not all rooms are like this; was just a bad choice!) - my partner went to reception and spoke to Wakas, wow he was amazing. Came straight to the room, insisted we moved, helped carry and pack our stuff. Made us feel so welcome and wanted and ensured our stay was perfect. As a hotel worker myself I know how hard these situations can be and he went above and beyond. What an assist to the hotel! 10/10 and will be making this my regular stay now in Leeds for the amazing treatment and support from the man Wakas, thanks for making my birthday weekend!

Incredible stay at Brighton Leonardo Hotel

I stayed at the Brighton Leonardo Hotel (used to be Jury's Inn) for 3+ weeks in Dec 2022 / Jan 2023 and had a lovely stay!! Great location and great hotel! Clean, comfortable, spacious, warm, and incredibly friendly team - special thanks to Karen, Fiona, Chloe, Cassie, Kostas, Kiran, Rosie, Betty, Alex, and everyone at the hotel for being so lovely, helpful, kind, smiley, and happy - everyone made me feel incredibly welcome, and nothing was too much trouble!! Highly recommended :) Looking forward to staying again soon!

Stayed at Leonardo Hotel, Birmingham

Stayed at Leonardo Hotel, Birmingham
I stayed overnight for the first time at this hotel. I emailed for early check-in couple of days before and the reply I received was standard generic with no emphasis on offering solution too. Whilst I fully appreciate it depends on availability of room but there should have been bit more clarification on how to go about this. Secondly, on the day of arrival I phoned hotel reception at least dozen times with no answer. I found this experience frustrating from a hotel chain like this. Upon my check in I stated that I tried to call the hotel reception since morning to check re possibility of early check in but been unsuccessful. No word of apology for not answering the phone.
I booked king room. Room seems very spacious and nice decor but working desk was just not fit for purpose. Bathroom was too small. On a positive note bar staff and room service staff was amazing. His name was David and he indeed was super nice. Manager with beard in the bar/restaurant area had no smile or reactivity on his facial expression.
All in all although nice location and fair to ok interiors but staff training is absolutely must

No room until 11.45pm Leeds

Booked to stay at the Leeds Leonardo Hotel for mums birthday. We dropped our bags at the hotel around 11am and made our way into Leeds to shop and explore the city. After a great night in 'flight club' and 'Restaurant Bar & Grill' we returned back to the hotel around 10.30pm to be told our 3 rooms we had booked (upgrades to superior super king rooms) were not ready, and wouldn't be for at least another hour. Check in was supposed to be 3pm, and we had not received an email, phone call or any correspondence regarding the delay. Extremely frustrated and tired we had stand up arguments with members of staff who simply shrugged shoulders and told us there was nothing they could do. Shift manager Yasar and Levi did try their best to calm us and reassure us but the whole situation was too bad to be true. We did receive 3 rooms (not the ones we'd booked) just before midnight. The next morning in the daylight I noticed there was a used coffee cup on the side and someone's 'e-cigarette' on the floor of the room, the room had obviously not been cleaned to any standard. We daren't shower in case the towels hadn't been changed, we felt dirty and worried we'd slept in someone else's bedding.
The next morning we managed to speak to Anna (hotel manager) who refunded us for our stay and has promised to offer us a free stay at another Leonardo hotel. A very poor experience from such a big company, BE AWARE

Jury Inn Glasgow - Fantastic

I stayed at Jury Inn Glasgow recently and it was a great experience. Room was available on time, was clean and good size for the price.

The bar was well staffed and good selection of drinks available.

Reception staff especially Angus was very helpful and polite.

Would stay again

Don't stay at Jurys Inn Exeter

Got charged for a reservation that the hotel canceled. I made an online reservation and instead of receiving a confirmation I received a "Sorry, we cannot acccommodate your reservartion at this time". So I made other arrangements. Imagine my surprise when I discover that my CC had been charged for the "non-reservation". I contacted the hotel and they promised a refund within 5 business days. 3 weeks later they informed me that would not be refunding the money after all. Senior manager decision.

Soiled knickers hanging on the bathroom Jurys Inn Glasgow …

Soiled knickers hanging on the bathroom towel rack next to the clean towels.
No apology from the manager or offered anything to say sorry

Dirty room, dust on surfaces and dirty carpet

When we checked in 2 tiny part rolls of toilet paper in the toilet, kept asking house keeping for more but none arrived

Only 3 sachets of sugar for 2 guests, next day house keeping gave us more uht milk but no more sugar or tea bags,

Smokers blocking entrance to the hotel, they wouldn't move from the little 2 paths so we had to walk over cobbled stone bit which was dangerous as where it was raining they were slippery, my partner twisted her ankle one day

Stupid and outragous bar prices, 1 pint of stella and a double jack daniels with lemonade - £17.25, what was i buying a round for the whole bloody hotel

Avoid, if you can

Had to cancel the room we have booked due to unforseen events (my 10 month old ended up in hospital the day before we were meant to go see a stand up comedy show in Dublin).
The hotel we book in Belfast (for the day before) were understanding and canceled the reservation without a bother... So was TicketMaster who refunded £300 worth of tickets in literally 15 minutes.
Now, a month later (and about 6 emails + 2 phone calls) Jurrys Inn are still telling me they'll look into my request "as soon as possible".
The customer service was inexistent, on this occasion and I'll go out of my way to avoid this particular hotel chain and any other hotels affiliated with it.
It's funny how the other hotel and TicketMaster were able to help but Jurrys Inn couldn't (I guess they really really need to take the money for a service they didn't provide... )
