No refund, they charged you in advance

I make the booking via booking.com, and cancelled it for free but they still charged it, but now it is one month, still not receive the refund. Contacted boooking.com many times and wasted total four hours, still not receive any refund. Contacted hotel, as they requested send several emails, still no response.

Jury’s inn Birmingham (broad street)

Jury’s inn Birmingham (broad street)
Picked up my key card and checked in around 5.30 ish and left as needed to eat etc. came back around 7 o’clock to find both my key cards don’t work. Went downstairs, queued for a while and got and swapped the 2 key cards for 1 more. Got in the room with my kids, got them changed to find there are ### BLOOD ### stains already on the duvet on the bed before we even sat on them !!! Grose !!! Plus BIG HEALTH and SAFETY issues !!! I have young children it could be contaminated. Could belong to someone with AIDS I don’t know.

I have never stayed in a hotel in this condition before. The bath has mould and stains on it. They are renovating but for the price and condition they should have told me when i booked it. I would never have stayed here.

After informing reception Katharina reissaar came up apologised and asked if it was any of our blood. I mean we was in the room not long and what would I cut myself with ????!!!! She took the duvet away and changed it for us.

I showed her the bath which had dirty stains and black mould all over. she agreed to change the room tomorrow as they are fully booked tonight.

Just awful I tell you I’m worried about if my kids had touched it. Not safe at all. Not expected of a hotel like this. Utterly
Shameful. Internet works intermittently and the phone in the room hardly works.
I would not recommend this place at all. I will be making a formal complaint !!!

This is for Brighton Seafront hotel….

This is for Brighton Seafront hotel….
Honestly Kinga is the most lovely, down to earth member of staff. She checks in, makes sure everything is going ok. Nothing is too much trouble. Absolutely spot on customer service. She really goes above and beyond. Simply down to her she has made this hotel our first choice of stay when heading to Brighton. Breakfast is lovely. Lovely views. Couldn’t get a better location. Haven’t yet been in the pool or spa so can’t comment.

Shocking communications - they don't care.

Tried to book conferencing facilities and twenty rooms for an event.

Communication is appalling - nobody answers their phone, emails are ignored for days, weeks and, often, entirely.

A painful process - would not recommend.

What’s happened to Jury’s Inn?

I have booked with Jury’s Inn through there own site for years and I’m also a member and never had any problems. I have just tried to make a booking and their site kept making errors so after taking payment the booking was wrong. I rang them thinking it was an easy fix and was told they couldn’t amend the booking and I would have to cancel and rebook. This happened again. I was again told to cancel myself and book again. The site then stopped working altogether when it came to taking payment so I phoned my bank to check if my card was blocked and found out that over a thousand pounds in my account was pending and that I couldn’t access it. I then tried phoning again and again with no success and was also hung up on 5 times!!! Shocking customer service. Used to be great. What happened guys???

Don't use central booking

I would advise anyone booking a Jurys Inn not to book through central booking, they do not give the best rates and are hopeless to deal with if anything goes wrong. I was on the phone to them 4 times to use a credit note as they kept cutting me off. I am waiting on a small refund on the booking but I am not holding my breath.

I am having the same problem as most…

I am having the same problem as most people on this review forum - I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY REFUND AFTER 6 WEEKS - Just as all the other complainants I get no response to email or messages. This was booked through Booking.com who also don't reply to messages sent directly to their customer service department. Very frustrating to say the least and I would never book with Jurys again. In fact I doubt whether I will use Booking.con again either. No that is not a typo . . .I suppose the only recourse is to get in touch with the card company and get them to sort it out.

Free cancellation policy is a sham. They will take your money and hold onto it for weeks

I made a free cancellation booking for Jurys Inn Brighton via Booking.com. Terms were no charge if cancelled before 8th September. My plans changed and I cancelled the booking and received the confirmation from Booking.com that it had been cancelled free of charge. All good … or so I thought.

Fast forward a month and I receive my credit card statement which shows Jurys Inn charged my card on the 27th August for £498 … a full 12 days before the last day when you could cancel for free.

I immediately contacted Jurys Inn and after a few messages back and forth (I always deal with these issues in writing) I was told that whilst I would be refunded this would take 14 banking days (3 weeks). Bear in mind credit card refunds processed at the time it is agreed normally take 7 working days maximum. I responded to say I didn’t find this acceptable and could I have evidence the refund was being processed. No further communication since. I have escalated to Booking.com as the agent but shall probably have to raise a dispute with the credit card company.

Jurys Inn you should not advertise free cancellation either directly, or via a third party agent, if you fully intend to charge people in full way before the cancellation policy says there will be no charge. Pre charge maybe ok but this is not acceptable. Second if you agree to refund, in this case no option, don’t continue to hold into people’s money fraudulently for longer than necessary. Third improve your customer services so we are speaking with the same person each time and actually resolve the issue don’t just go silent. I would not ever book with this company again as this seems to be a recurrent theme

Is anybody there???? I would really like my refund!

I have been waiting for weeks for a refund from Jury's Inn Exeter for a booking which I cancelled.
They do not respond to my messages. Booking.com chased it for me and was told that refunds can take around 15 days. The refund is for £463 and it was for next June but plans changed. Never again! Certainly I would never pay in advance again at any of Booking.coms hotels. I would actually give zero stars but that does not seem to be an option!

Stayed at station st Nottingham

Stayed at station st Nottingham. Arrived in room to find bed duvet covered in blood stains. Had to be moved to another room ,staff didn’t seem concerned or give any help in moving, even had to go door for key. Sink was also filthy. No sky sports in bar of hotel which was disappointing. Breakfast was limited but still charged at full price. No housekeeping available in our 3 night stay so again disappointing and if any fresh towels or extra was needed we had to ask for it. No room service after 9 another disappointing aspect of our stay.We where then asked to pay an extra £14 for moving room which was unbelievable. So all in all a very disappointing stay with limited services but expected to pay the full price.

Dirty

I stayed one night at the Jury’s Inn Bradford. When I got to my room (4pm as this is check in time!), I found dirty plates and cutlery outside my door. I reported it and it was still there over an hour later.

I also found a dirty tissue behind the bin in my room.

The carpets didn’t look hoovered in the corridor.

Overall very disappointing especially since I’d assume cleanliness an absolute priority in the current climate.

Disgusting mould and deposit never refunded!!

Leonardo Royal London St Pauls Team - Jurys Inn & Leonardo Hotels UK and Ireland

When checking in we paid £50 incase we used the mini bar and were told this would be returned when checking out if not used. We did not use the mini bar and asked for the refund at check out. Staff told us it would be returned within 3-5 days. It’s now been two weeks and still nothing refunded. Even after calling the hotel multiple times. How can they get away with that? They’ve now stolen that £50 from us. What a scam!!
When packing up to leave the morning of checking out, I opened the curtains and found extreme mould on the backside of the room curtains. This is a major health concern. We were breathing in mould spurs all night. We immediately showed the photos to the check in staff member who asked for the room number (232) and said we were done checking out. We were shocked they did not refer us to a manager or comment further on a severe health and safety issue. Had we noticed sooner we would have asked to move rooms immediately. I'm concerned about the hotel cleaning protocols in general after seeing something this severe has not been noticed or dealt with. It was absolutely disgusting!!
We have contacted the hotel and their parent company multiple times and have only received standard responses with nothing else.
I hoped my concerns would be dealt with efficiently but have been left with no response and am therefore leaving reviews in hopes it will bring some resolution to the situation.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone – this hotel has major health hazards and steals your money!! Do not stay here.

Mould Issue, Deposit not repaid, poor customer service

Leonardo Royal London St Pauls Team - Jurys Inn & Leonardo Hotels UK and Ireland

At check in I was asked if I would pay a £50 deposit for possible room service or mini bar usage. I paid (employee took £50 from my Debit Card, it was not a credit card pre-auth), however did not use the mini bar or room service. I stayed one night on Friday July 30. Upon check out I asked for my £50 refund and was told it would be refunded within 3 days. It is now 16 August with no refund. I have called 4 times and left my number with a staff members who have assured me a manager will look into the issue but have heard nothing and had no refund.
When packing up to leave on the morning of Saturday July 31 I opened the curtains and found extreme mould on the backside of the room curtains. This is a major health concern. We (I stayed overnight with my sister to celebrate our birthdays) were breathing in mould spurs all night.
I have contacted the hotel and their parent organization Jury's Inn on all channels. I received one response on email and one on twitter saying I would receive a further response urgently and have heard nothing. I stated that if I need to follow a formal complaints policy with different action, to please send me the policy.
I hoped my concerns would be dealt with efficiently but have been left with no response and am therefore leaving reviews in hopes it will bring some resolution to the situation.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone – the room was a health hazard. The shower was also broken (had multiple nozzles and only one was working) with very weak water pressure and there was no hand soap in the bathroom – especially with Covid this is a major concern.

A terrible night

Me again, seems like I'm always travelling right? Anyways, stayed at a Jury's Inn hotel yesterday, and wow. Not grand at all, I mean come on, at least let me sleep in a clean bed? There were so many hairs when I checked it. Creepy. My toilet was also broken, took me ages to get it to flush.

"4-star hotel" is false advertising

I stayed at the Jurys Inn hotel in Newcastle for 3 nights. On Booking.com, it is advertised as a 4-star hotel. This is really misleading. From my experience in staying in both budget and 'fancy' hotels, this is far from 4 stars. The hotel is really run down - in the room we booked, the air con didn't work, the window didn't open, the toilet seat was broken, the carpet was dirty, the sheets were ripped... things I'd expect from a budget hotel, but again, not one advertising itself as 4-star. We also paid for a package that included early check in at 12pm, and when we turned up at 12, were told there were no rooms available and to come back after 3pm. We had literally planned our trip around the arrival time, and paid for this service, but the person at reception seemed really perplexed as to why we were there early. Why advertise something if you don't offer it?

The reason this isn't a 1-star review is the staff were quite accomodating - when we complained after 1 night in a room with no air, they did upgrade us. But even in that room, the curtain fell down – which was held up with blue tack.

For the price, there are probably nicer hotels out there – I've stayed at Motel One before (3-star) which was far more modern than this.

Appalling level of service … poor communication

The hotel room was comfortable … there ends the positive. Customer feedback not taken seriously. Left my jacket at the hotel .. spoke with 2 managers over the phone and they both promised to call back (2 occasions). Till date I have heard nothing back … tried calling and never get through… appalling service … poor communications … should do better. It’s not all about the decor … guest experience should be front and center.
