Shocking service no care

Happy to take my money within a day when I was told it would be pay at hotel. When I had to cancel the room and rebook I’ve been charged the full price and told it will be 14 days for a refund.

Where's my refund?

Still waiting for my Covid cancellation refund. They first said 60 days wait, now saying 90 days. Lost patiance and started a section 75 action with my credit card provider. Never book Jury's Inn again. Not trustworthy.

Use Premier Inn instead

Have used Jurys Inn many times travelling with my daughters cheer team but having booked and paid over £300 in July 2019 I find it unacceptable that they expect to be able to retain my money for a year when the booking was cancelled due to COVID. Have chased several times by email (can't get through on the phone) yet still no joy. Next time I'll be using Premier Inn.

I can only rate on my experience

I can only rate on my experience, on that experience I will never use or recommend JURY INN. Since booking and cancelled stay I have heard nothing from this hotel, avoided at all cost. Hotel has been in touch after going through reservations at leonardohotels but, no refund as yet, will change review if things change.

I'm still waiting for my refund

I'm still waiting for my refund after they cancelled my booking (for 3rd May) due to being closed during lockdown. Have written several emails but keep getting fobbed off. I could understand they were operating on a skeleton staff earlier on but they are still saying this, and what's galling is that I keep getting emails from them inviting me to make a booking as they'll soon be reopening.

Impossible to get a refund...

We had to cancel a booking due to lock down. After refusing to rearrange a booking we were forced to wait until close to the the booking date for Jury's Inn to cancel the booking.

It has taken far too many mails in order to arrange a simple refund for a booking that was not going to be possible due to lock down.

After eventually being advised that I would be refunded 7 to 14 working days it still hasn't happened.

The morale of the story is to use a more reputable company for future bookings.

[Update]
After no reply to my last email, I phoned to ask where my promised refund was and apparently it can now take 60 days! Suffice to say I will now take the matter to the small claims court as I am very concerned that this company will never issue my refund...

[Update 14-06]
60 Days is up on 21st and still no sign. Will wait another week and then use the small claims court.
I reckon they've spent the money on new stetsons..

[UPDATE 09-07]
After copying BBC watchdog in on my last email I now have a refund and it only took just over three months!

Failed to honour a booking

Failed to honour a booking we had to cancel in march due to loss of car on day of travel, Failed to hold over and re-arrange said booking, because of covid. We are nhs keyworkers and don't get a lot of time off to visit family at a nearby army barracks. Poor service and unable to recommend to fellow travellers, keyworkers and army barrack visitors.

Jury's Inn attack the vulnerable, elderly, and homeless....

Jury's Inn hotels are kicking out the homeless, vulnerable, and elderly from their hotels into the street during the Coronavirus lockdown. This is against the governments advice to such hotels who provide a service to local councils which they are paid for. I will never stay at a Jury's Inn hotel again and I suggest if you have a conscience you don't either.

We booked to spend new year's eve at…

We booked to spend new year's eve at jury's Inn but had to cancel on the morning of new year's eve I asked for a refund but was told it was too short notice, which was fair enough so I asked if we could maybe go for a complementary meal in the new year which was agreed. We arranged our meal for the 7th of March which I'm pleased to say we attended and had a great time. The food was great the staff were lovely. This is how companies should behave towards their customers and in view of this we will return here many times. Thanks again to Eleesha and libby for sorting it all out for us 👍

thieves who steal your money!! and I can prove it

I stayed in Holborn London and prepaid through another site, which sent me confirmation and also when I checked in they confirmed I don't need to pay anything.
I pre-authorized 100 pounds for room service, and as I was checking in they wanted me to enter my pin to confirm it again. I didn't think anything of it.
3 days later I find out they charged me for the room!
I have been trying to get a refund for 28 days now, and nothing! They keep passing me around and not returning calls when they promise. I called my bank and they told me the charge was authorised by pin... which means they lied to me and when I thought I was paying for room service they charged me for the room without ever telling me! I only saw it on the bank statement!

Let's start with 2 stars is being kind!

Let's start with 2 stars is being kind!
Checked in on 31/01/20 on a 2 night Superior package break. This stay was a treat for my wife and I to celebrate 16 years of marriage.
Usually we stay at Jurys Inn Exeter which is superb always. In fact the Exeter hotel even called us in order to ask the reason for our stay and time of arrival. We later found out that this was because they were placing chocolates and a complimentary bottle of fizz in our room for us. This made us feel special and got our rare weekend away of to a wonderful start.
They advised us to let any future Jurys Inn know this and they would do the same.
Fast forward 12 months and on our day of departure we called Jurys Inn Plymouth to ask a question regarding parking, while on the phone I enquired about the 'feel good' extras to be told just because Exeter did it didn't mean they would and it would be charged as extra. Fair enough, but it made us feel under valued before we had even arrived.
We checked in and took our place in the restaurant for evening meal. The girl serving was a delight, but the food was distinctly average at best and took over an hour between courses to arrive at our table.
We went for an evening walk and when we returned at gone 10pm we needed some water which should be included in the Superior package. There was none. Also no paper and no biscuits which again we had paid for. We rang reception....and rang....and rang, but no reply. In the end I had to get fully dressed and go down 5 floors in order to ask for water. When I arrived at reception there were 2 members of staff sitting across from the desk just listening to the phone ring.
As I write this review it is only the first night and we have only been here 4 hours. Fingers crossed it improves or we feel we have wasted a lot of money and our only child free 2 nights of the year.
A tip would be that if you want a stay with Jurys Inn around the south west then definitely choose Exeter and not Plymouth.

Sadly Cheltenham Jurys standards are not good.

Sadly Cheltenham Jurys is not good. Room was fine, bed comfortable but being woken by people shouting at 3am then being woke again at 8am by 30 people at a gym club right outside the room shouting and instructors barking instructions. 30 footballs being thrown between the participants. This went on until 9.22am. Dinner was ok but spoilt by a group of men shouting and singing karaoke. Why were they not in a private room? The offer by reception of £15 in drink and parking vouchers was not good. What should have been a quiet Friday night stay was anything but!

Not good for couples

The room was nice but wouldn’t recommend for couples. I went to the pool to relax and it was rammed with kids. My partner came down after me to be told it was fully boooked and he couldn’t come in. Marco Pierre whites was closed and the food in jury’s inn looked really bad. The bar wasn’t any good either to be honest and it was pricy too. Wouldn’t stay there again.

Manchester

Manchester. Took two service users on a trip they paid a lot of money for. To see coronation street. Coach trip.... evening meal and breakfast. Everyone from the coach went down for evening meal to be told there isn’t one, they would get something ready but will be another hour
Went to the bar not that worried just concerned for people we were supporting who hadn’t had a hot meal all day, to be told again by two staff they didn’t know we were coming. Not sure how that’s possible when checked into rooms fine. But hey ho. Watched a lot of people getting beautiful looking meals in the bar. Not the case when we went to eat! Good god the food was shocking. One of the restaurants staff was beyond a wannabe manager with an attitude. Burnt fishcakes on offer , fish disgusting. Pizza hmmm garlic bread. Ice cream or tinned fruit for pudding. Saving the best for last. Starters tomato soup! Definitely was passata with spices thrown in. Asked for wether they are accounting for allergies. Apparently yes they had info. No they didn’t not at any point were any of the coach party asked. Coach driver appeared we told him they weren’t aware of our arrival. He said he had called ahead for which the manager said yes we knew. Lies! Three staff had already told us they weren’t aware.
Despite this fiasco the breakfast was fab and plenty. I just wished they’d said slight problem we messed up. Then this review would of been different.
Rooms fantastic and apart from the few people I’ve mentioned rest of staff were great!
