Overall very useful application to get connected to Landlords and Subletters, and the user interface is quite nice. I would need to be careful not to text on whatsapp before viewings for fear of scammers, otherwise handy website!

I could contact a lot of landlords and I did not encounter any scammers (as far as I could tell).
They only accept credit cards – no PayPal or bank transfer.

I was scammed through Kamernet
I was scammed through Kamernet. Just be aware and make sure the thing is real before you transfer any money. I contacted a woman that was "renting a room" in her apartment. I couldn't go for a "in person visit" but I asked for all the documents from her (her ID, a contract, I also did a video phone call with her...). Everything she sent me was real, she was real, except for the apartment. There was no apartment at all when I arrived to Amsterdam, even though everything seemed pretty real. And because I asked all this documentation from her upfront, I could report her to the police when I realized it was a scam and she has been sentenced for that a year later because I had everything as a proof (her ID, her bank account, my conversations with her via whatsapp, etc.). You may be wondering why would she be such a moron to give all her information? Because she has been doing it to internationals (I am from Spain), and I suppose that most part of internationals don't report this because they feel ashamed, or they don't see the point, or they don't know how to do it.
But it is also true that I found another room, a real one this time, in Kamernet. So the experience is mixed. In any case, please, be aware and don't give away money without guarantees. It is important that you check that the bank account they provide you to transfer the money is from the country and not from abroad because the police told me that if that account would have been from outside of the Netherlands they couldn't do anything. So my tip would be: don't let your desperation for finding something to drive your decisions, and make sure you have enough guarantees about the place, especially those that are necessary to present proof in case you have to report it to the police. Hope this helps someone out there!

There are too many scammers
There are too many scammers, and landlords which don't follow the law. If kamernet made sure landlords obeyed the law, we would not have people spending weeks looking for a home, and we wouldn't see the same landlords available because they are reposting an ad.
Too many people are homeless, you are taking advantage of them at their weakest points in life, that causes damage, please understand that pain if you have enough empathy

I think it is the worst web site in the Netherlands. A very low quality, incompetent person must have published it years ago and he is not touching there anymore. After dealing with trying to update the price 10 times, I gave up and found a renter through whatsup group. Hard to understand why cant somebody put bare minimum attention to an income asset.

There is a genuine housing shortage. I can see there's reasonable amount of rentals a day but always combine it through stekkies so you can instantly reply. Only then you d get any real shot at securing it. Both subscriptions are recommended especially, for those who are first-comers to netherlands. Make sure to not pay before video viewing and rental contract signing. Beware of the scams. They try to take advantage of our desperation. Over all i would recommend pararius and kamernet alongside stekkies for a stronger Housing Hunt.
