I think they are making recurring…

I think they are making recurring payments looks like one time payment. it says "4 week subscription", so intuitivelly it's a fixed period one time payment. also it says something like if you are going to find a housing in a smaller city then 4 week, if big city 8 weeks or something, making you think it's a one time payment.

then turns out there a small text below saying it's recurring.

Really disappointed…

I paid for a premium subscription to find a room in Groningen. I sent dozens of messages and never got any reply, so I didn’t find any housing at all.

Then I tried to cancel my subscription on the day it renewed, but it was already too late. I was charged €40 more automatically and there was no way to get a refund, even though I canceled immediately after.
At the end it costs me 80€ for nothing!

They just say it’s written in the terms and conditions and don’t offer any commercial gesture. I’m a student with very limited money and this amount really matters to me.

I honestly wouldn’t recommend this platform to students.

Kamernet customer service

I experienced an issue with my account where the subscription payment was taken from my original IBAN instead of the updated one. Additionally, I forgot to cancel my subscription on time. The Kamernet team handled these matters very professionally and refunded me half of the subscription fee. Since I had paid for a three-month subscription, they kindly adjusted it to a one-month plan so I could recover part of the cost. Thank you for your help!

i wish there was half star

i wish there was half star. Worst company ever a request to international students dont waste your money in this website. all the housing listed are dutch speaking only. If they wanted to make a website for dutch only then why allow login and take subsciption from others . Utter useless website to find a home in netherlands. On top of it they dont send out reminders for invoices transfer the cases to debit collection agencies and when requested to reduce the charges have the most ridiculous attitude towards students. Want to take every euro from students who are not even 25 tells the mentality of this company

Very expensive for the quality offered, many scammers

Kamernet is a very expensive subscription service considering the quality it provides. Although it advertises “verified” listings, this is not true – there are many scammers, and it’s difficult to distinguish legitimate ads from fraudulent ones.

I often replied to ads, but many times I never received a response. I flagged a scammer with proof, yet I continued to see ads from the same person. Many ads on Kamernet also appear on free websites, making the subscription even less justified.

The subscription renews automatically even without payment, unlike normal sites. Although they claim not to charge for late payments, they add an extra €10, and if payment is not made, a collection agency is sent after the person, even if the subscription wasn’t used.

Overall, it is not worth the money and does not deliver what it promises.

Kamernet is a marketplace, which means that the availability and quality of listings depend on the housing supply at that moment. While our team screens new listings and investigates every report we receive, scammers unfortunately still attempt to misuse housing platforms. User reports are very important to us, and when suspicious activity is confirmed, we take action.

Regarding responses from landlords: reply rates can vary based on demand. Many properties receive a large number of reactions, and not all landlords are able to respond to everyone despite the platform encouraging them to do so.

As for subscription costs, they fund the verification processes, safety checks, and platform maintenance. We understand that housing can be stressful and costly, and we are continually working on improvements.

About payments: Kamernet subscriptions renew automatically to ensure uninterrupted access, which is clearly stated during checkout. If a renewal goes unpaid, reminders are sent. The €10 covers administrative costs for overdue invoices. A collection agency is only involved if reminders remain unanswered for an extended period, not for missed use of the platform, but for unpaid invoices that were already generated through renewal.
