Keen advertised the Targhee 2 as being waterproof. It never showed signs of even being water resistant. The manmade portion of the lower outer surface failed within 3 1/2 weeks. Sole shows separation... See more

The worst returns experience I’ve ever…
The worst returns experience I’ve ever had. The shoes arrived via UPS after 8 days. I wanted to return them the following day:
- no UPS returns label provided
- the link to the webpage to generate a returns label didn’t work
- once I found the returns webpage, it didn’t recognise my email address/order number
- I then tried to call from the number provided on the order email, but it doesn’t work
- I then emailed the generic contact us email address, providing the order number. I received a fast response saying that I cannot return the shoes because it is beyond the returns period. I then replied saying this must be wrong, because they were ordered 9 days ago (took 8 days for delivery), and send a photograph of the paperwork in the box. No response received yet.
The shoes weren’t great either. I would strongly recommend to avoid this company. The returns process leaves me with a feeling that I’ve somehow been scammed by a pretend company.
Quality isn't what it used to be
My wife had a leather pair of Keen sandals that she's been wearing every summer for the last TEN years. They still haven't wore out but they were looking grimy so last summer we got a new pair of Keens. It was a pain as they've mostly switched away from leather but the site now extols the virtues of these nylon mesh style. Big mistake. They cost as much as the leather used to and didn't even last one season. The seams just started to fall apart. You can't even wear them now. So - I am writing this now on the first hot day of the year as my wife has gone back to wearing her shoes that are more than a decade old and I search eBay for 'vintage' Keen where apparently quality mattered.
Just not happy with the product at all do wish they could prove me wrong and send me a pair that do not come apart.
Well I have to be straight up I bought five different pair of boots with shoe strings cannot keep them tied for nothing the boots leak the waterproof boots leak the glue comes apart will never buy another pair of boots I have 162 men that work in the factory I work in I will be sending a memo out to them that they must replace their boots we will no longer be providing these boots for our Factory workers any longer do not feel they're safe do not feel their reliable that comes from first hand knowledge of wearing them consistently......!!!!
I've worn Keen hiking shoes for work…
I've worn Keen hiking shoes for work for many years. They always fit perfectly and lasted a year or more with hard daily use.
The last few pairs have been junk. Fit is erratic-too large, too small, too narrow, too wide. Inner support collapses in a short time. The bottom sole peels off, including once when the shoes arrived with portions of the sole coming loose.
Moving on
Sadly it is not possible to give zero…
Sadly it is not possible to give zero stars. I loved my Keen shoes until they started to disintegrate around the toe box. In common with a lot of comments here ......... they were weeks outside the warranty period. No response from Keen (despite the acknowledgement). They clearly don't read these feedbacks - or if they do they have room temperature IQ by choosing to ignore them. I am a Keen customer. Do they want to keep me as a customer? Clearly not.
On my third and last pair of targhees
On my third and last pair of targhees. Comfy but quality dropped on each pair. They dont last
My keen hiking boots started falling…
My keen hiking boots started falling apart at 11 months. Contacted them but the warranty dept. was closed until March 2023. The material that should be leather is not. I don't know what it is. They went downhill in a hurry. Used to be a great boot.
My wife bought me a pair of Keen…
My wife bought me a pair of Keen walking Targhee 111 boots from Mastershoe which were delivered on 24/1/2022. She gave them to me towards the end of February as a gift. After wearing perhaps 20 or 30 times they have perished and are no longer waterproof. I contacted the company and sent photos of the boots and told them they had not been waterproof for some months. Mastershoe's response was that because it was outside of the one year warranty there was nothing they could do about it. 3 weeks out of warranty, and I hadn't contacted Mastershoe earlier as I thought they were still in warranty!!! My advice would be to not buy either Keen boots or from Mastershoe in future. It seems that boots made by Keen are only expected to last a year rather than the 2 or 3 I was hoping for.
Owned Boots now for 1 year wear them…
Owned Boots now for 1 year wear them 80% of the week and they have been incredible! Only minor wear are on laces and the keen logo on the sole. The leather and metal for laces are high quality. Will buy until I die!
Thieves - horrible company: don’t buy
Shoes arrived and were fine but despite getting a larger size as suggested they were still too small. Posted them back immediately for return however was never refunded. Contacted customer services and had the most unpleasant experience with an extremely rude (& ultimately useless as I am still owed £50) advisor who insulted me, asked for information already in the email trail and didn’t help me. I would never purchase again from this company and have since advised many people not to buy as they are just thieves.
Look great, feel great, utter rubbish
Look great, very comfortable for wide feet. However the flimsy rubberised (no longer waterproof 😭🤮😱) section between the leather uppers and the sole started to disintegrate recently after less than 100 miles walking on easy terrain. Sadly I didn't notice til they were just outside warranty. What a waste of what would otherwise have been a great product. Bought mine in a reputable hiking shop who should know better than to sell crap. I thought I'd have them for years. Not particularly cheap either. Is it unreasonable to hope that a pair of hiking boots (costing in excess of £100) should last years not months?! They're nothing more than landfill sadly 😱😱.
I wish I had read these reviews before…
I wish I had read these reviews before purchasing my first and last pair if Keens. I paid, which to me was good money for what I thought would be a long lasting pair of boots. Yes, they were comfortable until the bottoms started coming loose. I was also under the impression they would at least be water resistant. I work in a garden center and my feet get soaked. I will be buying a different brand.
Keen women’s Targhee 3 mid walking…
Keen women’s Targhee 3 mid walking boots bought 28th December 2022 through Amazon UK. Three weeks later the boots began to leak (after a few local dog walks). Amazon couldn’t supply the same boots so I contacted Keen through Amazons link - unfortunately this turned out to be to Keen USA. They supplied the email address for Keen UK, I received an acknowledgement to my email but absolutely nothing since. The telephone number for Keen UK says it is closed. I’ve sent further emails but to no avail.
Keen customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. I’ve loved Keen boots over they years but this will be my last pair. Avoid this company at all cost. In my opinion they deserve zero stars!
Always loved Keens water shoes and was…
Always loved Keens water shoes and was a loyalist for years, but my last pair barely lasted 18 months of light hiking. The seams ripped and the bottom started to separate. I am done, and moving back to Merrell.
Bought a pair of Ladies Keen Targhee…
Bought a pair of Ladies Keen Targhee boots....didn't last 6 months...seams came away from the sole. Terrible quality. such a shame because their fitting is so comfortable. Avoid.
Keen your boots are JUNK
This company requires 0 stars. I’ve been a big fan on the keen boots for years until just recently. I’m on my 4th pair in the last 13 months and I wear them until they’re literally falling off my feet. I used to go through 2 a year. Keen Company went down hill in the past year in a half. Looks like I’ll be searching for a new shoe company for hiking boots.
I’m unbelievably disappointed in this…
I’m unbelievably disappointed in this company. I’ve had 3 pairs of their hiking boots 2 of which I got from warranty claims because the sole of my boots delaminated in weeks. I recently bought a pair of their work boots where I had the same problem and had to make another warranty claim. The company was good enough to give me a voucher for the value of the boots and so i thought I’d pitch in an extra $60 and get a slightly more pricey pair of boots. When I received the boots, it was just before Christmas and was off work by the time I tried the boots on and found they were too small It had been more than 30 days since I ordered them when I contacted the company to return the boots for a larger size they said that I was over the 30 day limit and they were not going to replace them for me and we’re not going to return my $60. I can’t even begin to say how disappointed I am in this company. I will never be buying their product again
Keen Boots not so waterproof
Bought my first pair of Keen work boots aluminum tow San Jose 3 weeks ago. They're supposed to be waterproof. Went to the car wash to wash the car. Got home noticed my feet were wet. Looked at the boot and the rubber around the stitching was peeling apart. Will be taking back. OnePlus is they were comfortable.
