From start to finish King and Allen have been attentive to our needs and talked us through the process in detail, explaining every step of the way.
The suits myself and my wife chose make us feel amazing. Help us both ooze confidence and style.
The materials made are just sublime and tailoring was ensured around both our requirements.
Extremely inclusive Taylors.

It’s very hard to write a review about King & Allen that doesn’t just repeat all of the other very positive reviews that can be seen below. I have to say that they deserve all of that praise.
I have just received two wonderful suits from them. I had one ordered from them a few years back and the experience was good enough for me to return to them to order a further two suits. My first fitting was at their Surbiton office where Cat (who had fitted my first one in the past) and I discussed what I was looking for, I chose the materials, made a few personal requests for detail and was measured up.
My second fitting was in their Liverpool Street office, again with the peripatetic Cat. To be honest, the fit was near perfect and very few adjustments were required before the third visit, where I was able to walk out the proud owner of two very fine suits.
I could not recommend the company more highly. They deliver exactly what they promise and do so in a hugely professional and yet personable way.

We had our bespoke wedding suits made with King & Allen and cannot rate the quality, service and the entire process more highly. The entire team (Joe, Lauryn, Karl and Daniel) have been fantastic throughout. From initial consultation, choosing the fabric and fittings we've loved every minute and have been incredibly well supported by the team at King & Allen Knutsford. As a gay couple it was important for us to have complementary suits without wearing the same and the team have been brilliant in guiding us through the process. The team were genuinely excited to help us through the process and loved seeing the final suits as much as we did.

Excellent service from initial enquiry to final product. I dealt with Karl throughout who was extremely knowledgeable and personable which made the process more enjoyable. I opted for a made to measure navy suit for my wedding this coming March and started the process last March. I’m delighted with the final product and would highly recommend visiting the Knutsford branch and King & Allen as a whole.

As a wheelchair user for over two years, I faced the challenge of finding suits that fit comfortably while seated. My journey led me to discover King and Allen, a tailor specialising in creating suits for people like me. Remarkably, their experts offered the convenience of visiting me at my workplace for measurements.
In September 2023, Joe Goad and his assistant provided an in-depth consultation to choose the perfect cloth and design details. I selected a smart, dark grey pinstripe fabric with a vibrant orange lining. The baste fitting followed in October, and by mid-December, I had my suit – a testament to their prompt and efficient service.
King and Allen's work was nothing short of exceptional. They accommodated my unique requirements with expertise, incorporating a drawstring in the trouser waist, buttons for braces, longer trouser legs to suit my seated posture, and a shorter jacket back for comfort in my wheelchair.
Their professionalism and ability to deliver stunning results on time, and at a reassuring price, make King and Allen an outstanding choice. Highly recommended for their specialised tailoring and understanding of the needs of wheelchair users.

Over the last 16 months I have ordered from King and Allen, a 3 piece Dinner Suit, 2 Jackets and 2 pairs of Trousers, all Fully Bespoke; I have a further order with them at the moment. I am extremely pleased with the fit of all of the garments; any minor alterations required at the final fitting have always been dealt with quickly and to my full satisfaction. I have always found them very pleasant to deal with and am proud to wear all of the garments.

My partner is a manual wheelchair user and we were initially excited to attend a consultation in November 2023. King & Allen has a page on its website dedicated to adaptive tailoring showcasing that their tailors made Ade Adepitan's wedding suit.
However, we were disappointed. Ultimately we have had an excellent experience with a different tailoring business which we felt had a better attitude towards disability and inclusion.
Here is a summary of the issues we experienced:
1) Access: Initially we were told that the Knutsford branch was not accessible and were asked whether we could travel to London from Liverpool for the initial consultation. I enquired whether reasonable adjustments could be offered and requested photos of the problems in the Knutsford branch, as access is not stated to be an issue on the website. Photos were never received, but an email assured me that in fact a ramp was available, and that other wheelchair users had attended the Knutsford store. However, when we arrived, the consultants did not seem to have been trained to use the ramp properly. The ramp angle was steep and felt precarious to my partner, and did not stretch out into the pavement so I still needed to lift my partner's chair up the initial step. I assisted with laying and adjusting the ramp both on the way in and out of the store. The changing area (not shown to us during the consultation) apparently also has a step and needs a ramp.
2) Communication/ inclusivity training needed: We noticed that the consultant who took the lead mainly addressed me (I am non-disabled), even though we made it very clear it was my partner’s consultation. I felt the need to move seats to try and ensure the attention was focused more on my partner.
3) Lack of adaptive tailoring portfolio: We were told that the fully bespoke option was necessary for adaptations such as an 'action shoulder' for full shoulder movement (FYI the less expensive made-to-measure is more suitable to vary length or size only). However, no examples of King & Allen's adaptative tailoring were available to view at the consultation. It is understandable that the clients themselves might not want to be photographed. But a photo book of just the suits on dress forms would have been enough to show adaptations made, or a even a sketch portfolio of previous adapted suit designs with reviews from wheelchair users explaining what features worked for their particular needs. No thought was put into the fact that non-disabled customers are shown numerous examples in store of the design options available to them but there is nothing like this offered to reassure wheelchair users of King & Allen's abilities. We were subsequently referred to the website, which we were previously aware of anyway, essentially rendering the consultation pointless.
4) Other consultation options are limited: My partner asked a question about home visits for people with restricted mobility as he was felt it would be very difficult for a powered wheelchair user to have entered the store. We were told that the van used for the pop-up shop in Birmingham is going to be scrapped soon, and there are no plans to introduce any other services to allow engagement with people with restricted mobility. (NB this may no longer be the case but please clarify with the business as it is not addressed on the website at present).
5) Conflicting information from the website: We were aware of timescales from the website (9-12 weeks for bespoke suit), however we were also told there might be as many as 6 consultations needed depending on the alterations required and that the business was busy from now until July, so there was little possibility of completing a suit sooner. I do wonder whether other potential clients are told this on a regular basis, as certainly the website suggests something different. We would not have booked a consultation had we known about this lengthy timescale.
We approached King & Allen and although they were receptive to feedback, I have not seen any relevant changes to the website to date.
Edit 19.01.2024 - Shortly after my review I noted some changes on the website. Jake Allen, the Director of King & Allen, has emailed me today regarding this review, addressing various points and asking for my review to be taken down or amended. I am considering my response.

If you consider this tailor, don't do it. You are in for high prices, long waiting times, and a poor cut and fit.
I ordered my suit in November 2022 and received it in December 2023. Ordering from the EU, I had to pay several hundreds of Euros import fee, so I ended up with roughly 2000€ for the suit, plus the costs to travel to London twice throughout the process.
I had a concrete idea for the waistcoat and provided an image, but the waistcoat I received does not look like in the image in the least. Without a fit, it hangs on me like a sack. The angles were so off it looks like a wall of fabric. On top, they included some sort of strap to close the waistcoat which dangles down.
As for the trousers, I had discussed something in between a skirt and trousers. After a few rounds of designs exchanged we decided for trousers with a skirt overlay. When I came for the "last fit", the trousers were way too wide to look proper, so I requested them to be fit. I also asked for an adjustment of the skirt overlay which similarly to the waistcoat looked like a wall of fabric. The trousers I received were not fitted, the angle of the skirt overlay not adjusted, and again they had those kind of straps that would dangle down in an unelegant way.
I won't pay for another two trips to London to get it fitted as the fit would still not make the cut any better. The suit is useless as it is and I'll have to throw it away.
My advice to you:
1. If you want a suit with a normal design, get one off the shelf and let it fit by a tailor. You'll get better results for less money.
2. If you want a custom design, don't do it with this tailor. They don't listen to what you want and their own ideas don't result in anything proper.

My husband used the Surbiton branch to order a bespoke suit for our daughter’s wedding
From the outset Stephanie was absolutely brilliant
Nothing was too much trouble & she was so calm & professional despite the fact that it was all a bit last minute!
Cannot recommend her highly enough
K&A is very lucky to gave such a great ambassador for the brand!

Harmony made a made-to-measure suit for our teen's Prom. The suit fit perfectly the first time and they looked fantastic.

I had my wedding suit made by King & Allen and it was a great experience. As a woman, trying to find a suit off the rack that fit well and fit my style was always going to be a challenge – and going down the road a made to measure suit from King & Allen instead was the best decision I made.
I had a few ideas in my head of what I wanted, and Joe really brought it to life. He was patient and went out of his way to show me examples of different styles and how the cloth looked in different lights. I had never had a suit made before but Joe made me feel at ease throughout the whole process and every detail was covered off.
The suit turned out fantastic, and I loved it so much that I immediately contacted King & Allen to have another pair of trousers and waistcoat made for my sister’s wedding later this year. Joe was once again fantastic and this time I was able to go through the process remotely, saving me a trip to London.
If you are considering having a suit made, King & Allen are an exceptional choice.
I know I am already looking for a reason to order another!
A first class company. Knowledgeable and friendly staff offering a very personal service . Constructive advice and good communication throughout the process . I couldn’t recommend them highly enough . The suit they made for me was the most comfortable outfit I have ever worn - it was for my daughter’s wedding and was very much complimented . Thank you!
Ordered 6 made to measure shirts.
Took a little longer than anticipated but they kept me updated. When the shirts arrived they were fantastic and I absolutely love them.
Thinking about some trousers now.
Never had a suit made before and my Son was getting married so.. I decided to go the whole hog it had to be made to measure. Had no idea were to gowhat material or finishing touches I would want but I found King & Allen in Knutsford on good old Google. I made an appointment went in and had a chat with Karl, What an amazing experience from start to finish , Karl was so helpful from helping me choose the material to the finest details. He is lovely as are his Colleagues. I can't thank them enough for making me feel amazing for a very special day. I would Highly recommend King & Allen Thank you so much
I have no hesitation in recommending King and Allen. Looking for a morning suit for myself as father of the bride, but not keen to simply hire ’any old one’, I could not have been more satisfied with the whole experience and with the quality of the bespoke suit. Karl is so helpful and knowledgeable and he was completely reliable throughout. I was not rushed nor pushed, just positively supported with the multitude of styles and options. The whole experience was brilliant from start to finish and King and Allen offered a wonderful service at a realistic price. Having previously never had suits other than ‘off the shelf’ from the major retailers, I would definitely do something similar again and Karl and King and Allen would certainly be my go to man and outlet!
I cannot put into words how amazing my experience was with King and Allen Knutsford.
Nothing was too much trouble. Karl was patient, supportive and really listened to ensure he understood what it was I wanted.
I get married 3 weeks today and can't wait to wear my suit.
I'm very pleased with my wedding suit from King & Allen. Extra thanks to Cat for making it such an easy, pleasant experience!
This was my first custom-made suit so I didn't know what to expect but Cat kindly (and patiently!) talked me through all the options at my initial consultation. I wasn't immediately sure what to choose, but didn't feel pressured to make any decisions right away. Instead, Cat arranged a second consultation to finalise all the details and make sure I was happy with the design choices I'd made before work began on my suit. This reassured me I was in good hands with King & Allen and that they'd only want to make a suit I was fully happy with - they've certainly succeeded! Two fittings later, my suit is home and I can't wait to wear it on the big day!
