I was in a panic on Thursday as I needed my dress shortening and had left it until the very last minute. I went into King and Allen in Knutsford and Karl was great. He pinned my dress there and then and said it would be ready in an hour. What a life saver. Thank you Karl for fantastic service

I was looking for a vegan wedding suit and after much research King and Allen came out as the best option.

It's an understatement to say that I wasn't disappointed. It was an amazing experience from start to finish. Chloe is a consumate professional who is not only an expert tailor but also easy (and fun) to work with.

There was plenty of time between my first fitting and the big day, so I never had to worry about being in a rush. However, the suit fit perfectly the first time, showing just how good the process was.

The suit itself is fabulous. I went for the eco-friendly cloth made from recycled plastic bottles. It has a sturdy construction and it oozes quality and being made to measure. There really is no experience like putting on a made to measure suit and feeling the difference.

The Liverpool Street Studio is fantastic. Take the stairs up a Victorian office building to a room which overlooks the street. Be greeted by your tailor and enjoy a drink while browsing the fabrics. It truly is a luxury experience and something everyone should try once.

This is the fourth suit I've had made by King & Allen, albeit this latest one is my wedding suit! Chloe was very helpful and professional from start to finish, she makes you feel very relaxed and keeps you informed throughout the stages.

I am thrilled with the finished article. I have no reservations in recommending King & Allen.

I went to King & Allen for a wedding suit and shirt.
After 5 consultations over a period of 3 months, they produced a shirt that was way too short and trousers that were far too big.
I was therefore left without a suit and shirt 3 days before my wedding day. This caused me a huge amount of stress.
I complained and received a ‘cut and paste’ response that basically said sorry but there is nothing more they can do.
I would thoroughly recommend avoiding King & Allen. They are polite, but awful, tailors. I’d go anywhere else.

Couldn’t of asked for a better service , Karl Lewis was fantastic from start to finish . ( great sense of humour to which made the whole process better )

He was very knowledgeable and gave great advice when it came to selecting the right style of suit for my wedding day , everything from choosing the lining of the jacket and all the details in between, couldn’t of asked for a better service . Would highly recommend going to see him at the Knutsford store .

From Deciding to take the plunge and get a suit tailored for me,I looked online and read some reviews. I decided to call in to have a chat with king and allen.
I was met by Karl Lewis who was very friendly and smart.
He talked me through my options and I decided on a taylor made to measure tuxedo and shirt.
I was measured to within a mm.
Paid my deposit and 8 weeks later went for my fitting. It fit like a glove,no need to adjust anything. I was amazed with the quality. I felt like James bond 🤣
Get married in 6 weeks so will upload some pics.
The whole process whent seamlessly.

Absolutely stellar suit makers, superb from the advice to the garment quality. I'm a trans man who previously hadn't owned a suit; before this I was too nervous to get measured for a bespoke suit, and off-the-rack suits didn't fit correctly. To my relief, I instantly felt comfortable at King & Allen Liverpool Street when I went for my first fitting. My consultant Joe was friendly and extremely patient with my questions, helped me pick fabrics that suited my taste and generally made me feel welcome and excited. It felt like I wasn't just getting a suit, I was developing a relationship with the company. I never realised how much of a difference properly tailored clothes make to self esteem! Next time I need a custom suit I know who to go to.

From the minute I walked into King & Allen Surbiton I was treated with a first class experience. I was very specific about what I wanted and Chloe listened to my every need. The suit fit absolutely perfectly, I felt good, It was so comfortable and my wife absolutely loved it! Having an overseas wedding during covid was so stressful but Chloe and the team at King & Allen made my suit picking experience an easy one. Thank you for making me look the part on my special day! I will definitely be in soon to get some more suits ordered.

I used King and Allen for a suit for a wedding but wasn’t sure what to expect. Well I know now, quality material, quality craftsmanship that will set you apart from all the off-the-peg suits. The attention to detail is impressive. The service was also excellent, Joe at Liverpool Street is knowledgable, helpful and patient, he definitely knows what looks right. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I’ve got a suit I love. GP.

Bespoke Experience
I was lucky enough to have my wedding suit made by Gwen at King & Allen. As a gay woman, I wanted a suit and after some research, decided to contact this company. And I am so glad that I did. Despite my nerves, I was made to feel really welcome and special. I would highly recommend this experience as I felt incredible on my wedding day. From the lining to the pockets and all the details in between, everything was discussed on each visit. I wish I could have this done all over again!

Had a great experience getting my wedding suit from King and Allen.
I was nervous as I’m not particularly fashion conscious and have never had anything tailored before so I didn’t know what to expect. I was immediately made to feel comfortable and given expert advice to help create the perfect suit for me. The process was very thorough and I felt guided all the way. Karl particularly was very respectful and helpful throughout the process.
The final product is an amazingly high quality suit that I will wear for years beyond my wedding day!

Absolutely fantastic service. Karl was brilliant from start to finish and made it all about me and my requirements. The suit looks amazing and is made to an exceptionally high standard with great materials. My suit was customized (plenty of options on colours, linings, buttons and so on) and tailored to my needs. I couldn't recommend King and Allen highly enough.

We both ordered bespoke suits for our wedding, together with a couple of men’s bespoke shirts and a separate bespoke ladies jacket. A tad over £4K.

King & Allen provide a good service for bespoke suits, although their preference seems to be men’s traditional suits.

However, our overall experience was average, and we don’t consider either of our wedding suits have that ‘wow’ factor we were expecting. Sadly my wife’s separate jacket has already split it’s lining, which is disappointing for a £1K garment. What is telling is that she does not wish to take it back for repair. So we won’t be going back to King and Allen, ever.

One other reason for this is that on one morning we arrived 5 minutes early for a fitting at the Surbiton branch to find an earlier customer was still being served. So we walked in and sat down on the sofa to wait our turn. No one acknowledged our arrival, it was as if we were invisible. A simple “Hello, I’ll be with you shortly” greeting would have sufficed, but nothing.

We feel that if you are a customer spending thousands of pounds on bespoke clothing you should be made to feel a little special. For us this was a big decision and a significant cost, yet we were left with a very ordinary feeling after our visits. The staff could have smiled more, which is an odd thing to say, but behind the formality that one expects, there was no spark or energy, we were just another appointment to be completed. This was a shame as it put a cap on our enthusiasm and enjoyment.

With hindsight we think it would have been quicker and cheaper buying off-the-peg suits and then having them altered by a tailor, which is hardly a glowing recommendation.

In conclusion, our suits looked good on the day, which was the most important thing. However, they weren’t cheap and the overall shopping experience lacked the pleasure one normally associates with buying something expensive and exclusive.

We don’t think King & Allen are poor tailors, certainly not, they delivered what we ordered after all. It’s just that we think we can do better elsewhere.

We needed two wedding suits at relatively short notice due the easing of the COVID restrictions. We looked online to see which tailors catered to women as well as men, and were impressed by the inclusive photos on the King and Allen website.

The service offered by King and Allen was exemplary – with a huge range of fabrics and styles to choose from. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly, and they clearly knew their stuff, providing practical advice and tips on the perfect wedding attire. They were professional and attentive to our questions, concerns and nerves! They made the dreaded measuring process and fittings really enjoyable, fun and their attention to detail was amazing. They talked us through the etiquette, such as which buttons to do up, what to do with the pockets, and how to treat the suit to extend its lifetime.

The suits King and Allen made for our wedding were stunning. They took time and effort to ensure they fit perfectly, making certain no detail of the fitting was overlooked. Staff were clearly used to making suits for both men and women and I would highly recommend this company to the LGBTQ+ community.

I'd always been interested in the bespoke tailoring process and felt like my wedding was the perfect excuse to finally do it.
I went to the Surbiton shop and was helped from start to finish by Joe (legend).
I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted but Joe's experience came in very handy when it came down to finer details such as buttonhole stitching, trouser pleats etc.
Due to having the baste fitting, when I went for the final fit/pick up the suit was a perfect fit. The only disappointment when leaving with the suit was that the process was over.
I'll definitely be going back for more suits.

This was my first ever suit, let alone a bespoke suit for my wedding. So to say I was nervous and didn’t have a clue what to expect is an understatement!
Even so, Jo Goad managed to guide me through choices of colour and style - and the end result and the fit is superb. I am so happy and can’t wait to proudly walk down the aisle as a bride in two weeks. Very recommended!

King and Allen have just made a bespoke suit and shirt for my wedding and they're fantastic. When I was researching companies initially, I was a bit unsure partially due to being a woman and as I've never had a suit made before but the whole process with them was really fun, enjoyable and professional. Karl is obviously passionate about great tailoring and was brilliant about giving options and advice and suggestions to help but ultimately make something that suited me and looks amazing. I chose all the details from the fabric, lining, stitching colours, embroidery, fastening etc etc over a few fitting sessions. I can't recommend enough if you need a suit making especially for a special occasion. I can't wait to wear it!
