Kingfisher/flomasta/B&Q not fit for purpose

Be careful, buying B&Q radiators made by Flomasta.
After installing one of their bathroom towel radiators 18months ago, the bottom of each rail was found rusting. The "contact us" email address for flomasta is Kingfisher, who chose not to respond to my query, even after sending them photographs & receipts etc. Eventually i spoke with the B&Q store (Chester) where i bought it from. They contacted flomasta, who then asked for more photos, a layout of the bathroom & ventilation location photos. They responded to B&Q stating as wet towels were put on the towel rail the 5 year guarantee is void!!! How they found out we had wet towels on the radiator i don't know, but hang on they sold it to me as a bathroom towel radiator!!
Beware of the quality of Flomasta bathroom towel radiators they are not fit for purpose - & they will not honour the label on the box stating 5 Years guarantee

I sent a message to three addresses of the company, some questions that they refuse to answer. I quote the questions,

I am interested in the plywood in the adress bricodepot.ro constructii placaj-de-lemn-1220x610x12mm. which is available in Romania in the Brico store in Cluj Napoca.
My question is,
Are the plywoods made of beech wood? It doesn't say what kind of wood it is, it only says it is made of hardwood.
Is the adhesive you use to make this plywood of animal or synthetic origin?.

Ambrosia cream aka 'brilliant white'

Bought 10lt of 'brilliant white', Goodhome, masonry paint at B&Q. The wall had just been coated with Leylands Granocryl, also brilliant white. The difference in shade is very evident. Your paint is certainly not brilliant white, it is reminiscent of tinned ambrosia cream. Feel free to adopt this name for your white paint. Meanwhile, ask your researchers to improve the rather important "brilliant white" element, ye know, so your tub no longer gives false information as to the contents, you'll likely face legal action if you don't.
Fortunately for you, I happen to like ambrosia rice.

I ordered a splashback for my new kitchen from B&Q and my husband also order one by mistake. I immediately contacted B&Q customer service. To be honest the lady I spoke wasn't very helpful and made me feel like I was an inconvenience to her conversation she was having with another colleague (she didnt put me on hold propperly). She told me it would take 24-48 working hours to get a response regarding a refund. I was contacted via email the next day by B&Q marketing to advise my order had been dispatched and I should await further correspondence regarding delivery. My order that I tried to cancel a couple days prior, had been delivered without an email informing me of this. I managed to contact the company directly, which the lady from customer service told me wasn't possible, I got a response within 15 minutes and managed to speak to a very helpful gentleman named Greg. The customer service reciced from Kingfisher was on point. They were so helpful and reassuring. My splashback from kingfisher was beautiful and compliments the new kitchen perfectly.

DO NOT BUY WASTE OF MONEY

Cooke & Lewis CLCGS60 Stainless steel Curved Cooker hood (W)60cm - Inox

I bought this extractor hood from B&Q about a year ago, just completed the fitting of this item, not impressed at all, fitting instructions are poor, for instance you have to space the top bracket from the wall or else the chimney cannot slip behind it? Also, as per one other reviewer, the light button only stays in intermittently, very poor quality. Also, wear gloves when fitting the chimney, as finger marks on stainless steel are hard to remove! Finally, there are no carbon filters included, something you don't find out till you open the box!! You have to pay extra as a separate item. The motor is extremely loud it's like a generator running. Tried contacting the company as well as B & Q but no outcome from either. I recommend to buy elsewhere.

Don't buy from B&Q on line

Update
Yes Kingfisher did respond within 12hrs, but it's all on line not direct communication with a person. So they send their 2 line comm, then you have to go back into contact seller, wait, they respond, but not actually answering my query. And so it goes on, message after message. My heater was collected by DHL by Sealey themselves, who also sent it to me (why on earth does one needs a 3rd party, I do not know, but can't order direct from Sealey). A refund was given, but the process is slow and takes days to do a simple communication about a product purchased, product damaged, refund. I will not do this again.

Don't buy from B&Q on line. I have just had delivery of a Sealey CH30 ceramic heater. All seems fine with the heater until you have to remove the front guard to remove 8 polystyrene lamp supports and card (which was upside down so looked like a plain piece of paper) which is warning you to remove supports - no proper instructions on what I'm supposed to do, so took guard off, as no other way. So Sealey, poor instructions, needs improvement.

But I noticed that ceramic plates are loose and definitely one seems broken within its support, so I call B&Q expecting top service. NO.... I have to "contact seller" on my order - not them but 3rd party - what the ???? The 3rd party, Kingfisher, has 48hrs to respond and if they don't then I have to go back to B&Q who then presumably try to get Kingfisher to resolve my issue.

So no doubt Kingfisher will not respond in 48hrs - yes I am already being pessimistic about the service I am going to receive, but there it is. But if K-F don't respond then I go to B&Q and then they have to take up the cause, but how long will this all take??? Days/weeks/months??

Not impressed at all and if I had known that this is the way B&Q work, I would not have ordered through them - why bother as they are purely a go between.

I shall update this review once 48hrs is up and let you know how good or bad Kingfisher does or does not......

Dreadful company

Dreadful company. Advisers provide poor advice and explanation of their products and terms. Trying to get a refund from them is impossible. You can never speak to a manager as they are always in a "meeting".

Avoid.

Tor Coatings verified B&Q seller!!!

i ordered online 2 tins of rust oleum paint through b&q verified seller . they are called Tor Coatings limited. Attitude and arrogant to put it politely!! i had ordered the wrong colour for my sons house , we are decorating it as a new baby is on the way, they live quite far away from me so i was ordering the decor for them,
i contacted tor coatings through the b&q website to initiate a return and refund of my 50 pounds but was met with nothing but insolence and arrogance. first i had to take pictures of the package before they would send a returns label , which i did but then was accused of trying to return paint in a plastic bag, which would be funny might i add if it was not a stupid suggestion . it was a box wrapped in plain paper which the paint was securely packed inside the box for no movement then wrapped the box, with paper on then smothered tightly with sellotape to hold it even tighter for safety. i ended up after 3 emails of them accusing my '' substandard'' packaging as they put it, telling them to keep the 50 pound and threw their paint out. so just want people to be aware they are a scam company not willing to receive their goods back unless you dare not open their ''high standard packaging'' as they put it . hahaha in an economic crisis they are shocking to say the least!!!

I recently purchased a pruning saw
I can’t comment on the product because I can’t get through the PLASTIC SEALED packaging 😤😫
In the process of trying to get it from its sealed tomb I have cut myself and still after 10 mins fighting with it, haven’t got to it yet.
In this technical age why are you and other companies still using this environmental damaging packaging? It has potential recycle cardboard that you can’t even separate from the PLASTIC , so from here on I’m not going to waste my money on a fight with your products

Kingfisher and Cooke & Lewis are useless.

DO NOT PURCHASE COOKE & LEWIS PRODUCTS.

Purchased brand new kitchen from b&q. Delivered September. After many problems with damages and wrong items kitchen finished fitting October. Used hob and doesn’t work properly. Made claim under warranty. Engineer visited, wrong part supplied and he reported back hob not fit for purpose. We contacted call centre again who said they hadn’t got his report even though we saw him do it and submit it. They said they would speak to engineer and get back to us but could only repair not replace. No contact from them since despite promises. We are off to b&q tomorrow to try and get a replacement or refund. Will never purchase any more products from them. Brand new kitchen and useless hob.
