Disappointed. It was my husband’s birthday. Four of us have visited many times, but it seems like its got a new owner, or a new chef. We usually all have the Sunday nut roast dinner but today three of us tried something different. One had the nut roast small plate and it was small, a lot smaller than usual, also the veg which was usually nicely presented in a large dish, was in a tiny dish all squashed together. One had vegan fajitas it was okay, but far too much fake chicken and hardly any vegetables. One had chilli with chips, this was so small it looked more like a starter. The last meal was also on the small side. The prices have increased and yet you get less food. We all had a ‘proper job’ beer, it was cloudy and tasted terrible the barman said it was a fresh barrel and didn’t change it. We all drink beer. and very rarely have to take it back but this beer was so awful we all had to leave it. We all had such a bad experience on my husband‘s birthday that we have decided not to visit again.

Came in today. Ordered roast beef on trying the meat it didn't taste good friend tried it as well and said the same. I told a member of staff who wasn't at all apologetic I changed to the turkey which was lovely but wasn't brought any more veg mine went with the beef. Didn't have any cranberry sauce that the others had with there's. The worst thing I can say is not one person apologised.

Amazing Sunday roast. Good value. Friendly staff. Will be back.

This is a nice pub in the charming historic market town of Devon. Friendly staff, a good selection of beers and good old fashioned British pub grub at a reasonable price.
