Good company and know what they are doing but only issue was the app/website could not load anything up on it needs looking at this will help a lot with future clients.

This company acted for the people buying my house and the person I bought from. My experience of them.was very poor. An example of their service was how they only sent final management fee costings over to my solicitor the day before completion, despite my solicitor chasing for a week since exchange. What was worse was they claimed I owed almost £2k when in fact it was just £11... a rather big difference and luckily my solicitors were better at adding up.

I would avoid these people of recommended by your estate agent.

I found Kirkstall Property Lawyers Bobbie - Leigh and Amber highly efficient, helpful and professional. Any messages or emails were always replied to promptly. I found the portal easy to use and kept me up to date with the progress of my transaction. I would thoroughly recommend.

Kirkstall processed both the sale of our old property and the purchase of our new property. Although this was done at a reasonable price, we found the whole process left us exhausted.

We had many issues with communication along the way; phone calls were rarely answered, and when they were, our concerns were just squashed without actually dealing with the issue. The only way that communication was had was through the messenger area on the portal. We felt that it was only when we were chasing daily, alongside our estate agents also getting in touch that any work seemed to be achieved with urgency.

Once we started applying pressure we were sent over multiple documents that needed to be checked through for the people we were buying from, many of these documents were dated from 2 months prior. Alongside these documents, we were sent our financial completion statement that was £3,000 higher than it should have been as it was not updated correctly.

Once we exchanged, we were informed that we would get lots of notifications of activity happening on our portal and not to worry about these. Thankfully we did keep checking as 3 days prior to completion, we were informed that we had an outstanding balance of £2.40 that must be paid in order to complete. And then the following day a further administration error was made meaning that we still owed a further £4.80. We paid these additionals immediately at risk of not completing in the coming days. I would like to point out that these additional payments were requested via the portal and once again not over the phone despite being told not to worry about checking the portal.

All in all we are incredibly grateful to Kirkstall for helping us get our new property but would not use their services again.

Appointed a member of staff who were always quick to answer any query. Very efficient and knowledgable to solve a couple of hitches along my selling journey. The app they use, which they set up for you, is very good. It enables you as a customer to see exactly where you are in the selling process, gives you a place to send and receive messages from your solicitor and gives helpful telephone numbers if needed. We honestly would not use Kirkstall again if you offered your services free of charge. We would much rather have paid double for the kind of service we received from JMW on the other side of our conveyancing than we did from Kirkstall. It was that bad, that we even feel let down by our estate agents - Karl Tattler for recommending your services to begin with.

Eleanor Newton is polite and friendly on the very rare occasions that you manage to speak to her, but she never, ever answers the phone. It generally takes sending a message on the portal, followed by an email, followed by more phone calls to 'other departments', followed by demanding a phone call from a senior manager, before she then FINALLY calls you back. Once that phone call arrives, you can guarantee she hasn't done whatever it is your asking her to, you need to tell her what it is she should be doing, or even on some occasions how to do it. We are not conveyancers and even we could see what needed doing next, something Ellie seems to not be able to do.

We found the whole process from start to finish deplorable but the real nail in the coffin was when we entered the final few days and Ellie tried to tell us that our completion wasn't happening. Of course, that was apparently our buyers solicitors fault but we were very clear and concise in our instructions to Ellie, and that they weren't going to stand in the way of our move. Queue 1pm on our day of completion, when she had done nothing, especially things she should have been doing before. At 3pm our buyer had completed, we had two vans packed and sat on what was no longer our driveway, personal effects still residing a house that we no longer legally owned and panicking about where we were going to go and what we were going to do. We finally received the keys to our new home at 5pm, which was only due to transferring of funds, again caused by the ineptitutude of Kirkstall and its employee(s).

Now, in all fairness to Ellie, we do have some sympathy. The poor girl is either so overworked she cannot keep up with the demand of the customers, so poorly trained or is still learning on a job that she cannot do it or is just inept at it and trying to struggle her way through. We honestly feel that whichever of those statements is true, she needs to have that circumstance changed or find something else to do with her life. It is not fair on the customers of Kirkstall or its employees if this is the way they are to continue running their business.

We would like this to be followed up and feel very strongly that we paid far too much money for the service we received. A starting point in any sort of satisfaction would be an apology and consideration of a refund.

For anyone reading this review when considering whether to use Kirkstall, our advice is absolutely do not. Go and contact JMW solicitors. You will have a much easier, concise experience from people who really do know what they're doing.

The online portal was very easy to use and we could quickly see the status of our case. Excellent service, I used an online solicitor for the sale of my last property & didn't have a great experience, however Kirkstalls were great.
The online tracker was easy to use & kept us up to date with sale progress. The messaging system gave us quick access to solicitors for queries & concerns & pre signing contracts meant completion was a simple phone call. Very impressed with Hannah, Carmen & Zaynab. Thank you!

Their fees are transparent; I was charged the agreed fixed rate with no hidden costs. The online portal is really good. Their reports were well-written too.
There was a 3 week gap in the middle where nothing seemed to happen; both sets of solicitors blamed each other. Nonetheless, the team always responded the same day to my queries.

I was apprehensive about using a remote conveyancing service and this is the first time I have done so. I was very impressed with the service that Kirkstall provided and have no hesitation in recommending them. My case handler, Bobbie-Leigh Patterson was great. She was efficient and quick to respond to questions etc and all in it went very smoothly. It took around 8 weeks from my offer being accepted and completion.
I’m in no rush to move again but if/when I do I will seriously consider using Kirkstall again.

Very happy with our service, especially the constant communication between us and our handler, Matthew Hosseiny. This is partly due to him being an amazing handler, and partly due to Kirkstalls online portal. It makes communication so easy; no waiting for emails or wondering if we have been forgotten, because the portal had a direct messaging service between us and Matthew (and he replied no later than the morning after we sent any message - legend), and it shows you how many times our case has been worked on and what progress has been made. It is very efficient and easy to use and I cant recommend it enough.
