This is a product which I am using in my work and social life. The ability to write notes on it and save them for later is saving me a lot of time in my working day. The screen size is making reading when relaxing at home a lot easier and more enjoyable.

I wanted an ereader with a flush screen. I initially wanted the Kobo Sage. But it has been out of stock for a while so I opted for the Kobo Elipsa 2E. The user interface and the ability to customize is the same as on my Kobo Libra Colour. I love this ereader! its big but it is light. Its not a color ereader but I still love the way my covers and lockscreens look on it. This one comes with a stylus and it works very good. It doesnt have page turner buttons but I have a Kobo remote so it weighs out. I love the big screen because I tend to read long books so more of the story fits on the screen. I highly recommend it.

It's a solid product but as i assume everyone else gripes doesn't have a colour option. I use this for reading coding textbooks and colour provides alot of context when reading through code. If they release this in color and with slightly quicker page loading, i'd buy it. As is its a good black and white e-reader with an ok notepad. The note taking feels a bit like signing your name on those SGI e-ink things it's messy and disconected but after a few minutes of use you get used to the odd feel and it starts to feel more natural. Wish there were more colourful case options as well, lost my last ereader somewere, i might be looking right at it but in a sea of black square devices it just disappeared, had to order a coloured case from amazon and i don't know when it will or if it will ever arrive.

Really great. I'm a previous reMarkable user but wanted a combined notebook and eReader. This definitely does the job. I think the writing quality is not quite as good as reMarkable if you directly compare, but you quickly get used to it. I recommend!!

The Elipsa is nice, but not worth the price. If you aren't organized on paper, you aren't going to be organized with this system! The note taking isn't quite as easy as their ads seem to imply (although, to be fair, I just watched a few videos and jumped in; maybe I'll get it after a few conferences). If and when this one breaks, I'll go with one of their lower priced readers. I do like the larger size -- it feels like reading a full page, even with a larger font.

[No compensation of any kind was received in connection with this review.] The Kobo Elipsa 2E is a first rate eReader, and Kobo's store for buying eBooks works just great, as you'd expect. I've bought a few books there and I may even subscribe to Kobo Plus; I've never said the equivalent of that during many years spent with Amazon/Kindle. But none of those is the real reason I bought the Elipsa 2E, as its distinctive charms lie elsewhere. I'm retired and writing a (very long) book aimed at members of my former profession. The book is awash in mathematical text (equations, Greek letters, etc.) with a few hundred graphs scattered about, all assembled by LaTeX into PDF output structured as US Letter- sized (8.5 x 11 in.) pages. I needed a way to proofread those .pdf files and use a stylus to markup typos, errors, and awkward phrasing, right on those pages. And, just to make things interesting, my computer runs nothing but Linux, and I'm left-handed. And by golly, the Elipsa 2E is more than equal to the task. Hook it to my computer with an ordinary USB cable, and bringing in a fresh version of my tome is a familiar drag and drop operation; no uploading to the cloud or through someone's servers. Is the 227 ppi screen a problem? Nope. By default, an entire 8.5x11 page fits on one screen, and all those little squiggles and symbols in the equations are quite readable. Still need a little more detail? Rotate to landscape mode and you get an instant magnification, though I've actually needed that exactly once. Marking up text with the stylus is about as close as possible to working with pen and paper; I've got no complaints on that front. Would an LED screen be better? Definitely not: I'd far rather read on an eInk screen. Would a faster processor be better? Yes, but not by much. Would a higher resolution screen be better? Yes, but only a little --- even with the challenging content of my book. No complaints at all? Well, the SleepCover is absurdly overpriced. More importantly: my book has a Table of Contents --- very useful for navigating the document. For some reason, when I load a fresh copy of the .pdf file, a Sync occurs automatically and the text gets updated, but not the ToC. Rather, to update the ToC when it has changed, I have to delete the .pdf from the Elipsa and then load it anew; irritating, but hardly a big deal. If you want an eReader for ordinary reading of eBooks, the Elipsa 2E may be more than you require. But if your needs are more like mine, this Kobo is head and shoulders above anything else out there, including the offerings from Amazon, ReMarkable, Boox, ... . Thanks, Kobo!
